Farmers Insurance – Patricia Perez-Reyes

Long story short– they were very unresponsive and did not provide me with much customer service when I decided I would no longer continue coverage with them. If you want details, just read below.
On 7÷30÷14 I contacted the office of Patricia Reyes to inform them that once I ended my coverage period, I would no longer continue services with them. My policy expired on 7÷31÷14 and the fees for the renewal period would soon be deducted. The lady I spoke to on the phone informed me that the fees would still be deducted due to my short notice, but I would be able to receive a refund. She also informed me that she would e-​mail me to finalize my cancellation process.
9÷1÷14 came along and money was deducted from my account once again. I called them back and I was informed that because I never e-​mailed them, my policy was never canceled to begin with. I informed the individual who assisted me that she never followed up with the email she originally said she would send and because I’ve been going to the same office for several years, I assumed they had all my information and everything was taken care of since she had already told me I would be reimbursed. She requested that I send her a copy of my new insurance coverage; I sent it via email on my phone on 9÷3÷14 and for whatever reason they were unable to see it as an attachment, so on ⁹⁄₁₈ they requested that I send it again and I did.
October came along and I received a bill in the mail for cancelling my insurance on 9÷22÷14, when I had called them to cancel before the new coverage kicked in. As a social worker, it is extremely hard to take time off work but I went through the trouble of requesting time off to go into the office to try and solve the issue. Both times the office was closed, despite their hours online stating they were open. Because so much time had gone by and the issue persisted, I emailed Patricia to let her know that I was unhappy with her office’s service and requested that she provide me with a direct contact number so I could address the issue on my own rather than having them as mediators. I received no response from her.
November came along and I received a notice stating that my cancellation fee would be going to collections. I e-​mailed Patricia to request her correct hours of operation for Saturday so I could go in and address the issue. I also inquired about the fees that were being sent to collection since I had verbally requested to end services when my contract period was over. When she replied she did not acknowledge my question about hours of operation and let me know that I needed to submit a written request for any cancellation. She informed me that she did not have my written communication and asked that I forward that to her (something I was never asked to do in the first place). At this point, I decided not to respond since I wasn’t receiving much help. I’ve been able to address the issue by directly contacting Coast National.

Fantastic service and great people. I also do insurance with them and it really saves me time.
