As someone whose wardrobe philosophy is about finding beautiful, functional, well-​tailored clothes that can go from office to dates to concerts — sometimes all in the same day — I’ve often been flabbergasted by the offerings in the LA area. Mall clothes are often uninteresting, secondhand stores are okay but don’t have consistent inventory, and boutique clothes tend to be overpriced for the cut and quality. Enter Mone Mos.
I shopped here yesterday on a whim, and was lucky enough to stumble upon a sale. The sale rack had beautiful, contemporary elegant items with unique, timeless cuts and gorgeous colors and fabrics. There were at least three items I would have worn to work or on a date on the sales rack alone. In my six years in LA, I don’t think I’ve yet encountered a single clothing store that has so many covetable items.
Angie, the store’s buyer, happened to be on hand that day. She situated me to the type of designers they rep — it seems like lots of upscale, independent designers from Europe and the US — and was kind enough to make some custom suggestions for clothes. There were so many beautiful, one-​of-​a-​kind articles of clothing there. If I were pulling a higher income than my current freelance one, I would for sure get a new wardrobe from this place. I was surprised because my style tends to be funky, but there was enough of a range from conservative to classy, to fun and avant and catwalk style clothes. I ended up walking out with an amazing sleeveless off-​white Rebecca Taylor blouse — the cut was super flattering, alluring and could hold its own in an office or on a night out. And I got 50% off on it, because I happened upon their sale!!!

Just a note that this is not a bargain place — the prices are easily in the $ 100-​$ 400 range per item. That said, if you want to built up your professional and personal wardrobe with investment pieces that mix and match well, then I would greatly recommend Mone Mos. The staff there are very hands-​on, helpful, no attitude place with an amazing inventory of designer goods. The floor staff are fluently English and Korean bilingual, and they are sure to take really good care of you.
