Mail Call

Dropped off a package here without knowing much about it except that it was near my office.
Now it’s two weeks later, and my package still hasn’t gotten to the place that I sent it and no tracking information is showing up. I’m starting to get worried, so I decide to call Mail Call to see if they have any more info.
I (literally just now) spoke with Jason on the phone. He picked up right away and was so helpful and nice, I really couldn’t ask for better customer service.
Whenever I need to ship something, I will definitely be going back to Mail Call.

Found this place purely through Unilocal.Was desperately looking for an alternative to USPS, since all I wanted to do was send a registered letter without standing in line for ages. I walked in and out Mail Call in about two minutes. Awesome! They also have everything you need for larger shipments (boxes, foam, tape, etc). Definitely going back there when I need something sent or shipped! Keep up the good work.

Highly recommended. I hate the post office and this place is the best around if you’re looking for a hassle-​free, wait-​free, attitude-​free postal service. I’ve been a customer for 2−3yrs now. Jason, the store owner, is always courteous and helpful in finding the most affordable yet convenient way to ship an item. Can’t say enough great things about this store. KUDOS!

Mail Call is a great professional PO Box Store location. Courteous and great prices. I especially like the fact I can check and manage my snail mail on my iPhone anytime from anywhere. This saves me a lot of time when I’m on the road. I can highly recommend Mail Call.

Friendly, efficient service, and a real gentleman running this place. I’ve had three other mailboxes in LA, with two other mailbox companies, and one with a Post Office in Beverly Hills. Mail Call is by far the best. I do all of my mailing, boxing, and now I’m getting my mailbox here. Great location, great prices, friendly and helpful.

I have been here a handful of times. I had to ship a box to Texas. It was late afternoon and Jason gave me the rundown on what company would be able to take my package that day at the time I was in the store. He sent it to the post office. He boxed up my items quickly. Jason emailed me a tracking number for the post office around 6p. I was shocked I would get an email so quickly. He runs a good service at Mail Call. I will keep going there for sending my packages off.

They do not give you a receipt when you drop off a shipment. His explanation was «We can’t print a receipt for DHL». This is ludacris to me, as I always makes sure to get a drop-​off receipt everywhere else I go and have successfully been given one. He could lose the package and there would be no paper trail that he ever even had it!

Excellent customer service!
I didn’t use any of their services or even buy anything but I still got awesome customer service. I was a few blocks away on my computer having trouble with my FedEx shipping account. Looking for help I walked in and told Jason about my issues. He logged on to my account and went through the process with me to make sure it was working properly. Then i brought in my laptop and he went through the process with me again using his WiFi connection. Turns out it was an oversight on my part. I was thoroughly impressed with his level of customer service. He gave me a few tips that ended up saving me time and money while shipping through my own account. Helping me didn’t provide an immediate benefit to his business yet he still took the time to help. Don’t see this too often in LA. There are other shipping/​mail stations closer to my place but Mail Call has earned my business for sure. I definitely recommend this business.

This place is awesome! The guy who works here is very knowledgeable and straight up no nonsense.

Friendly notary service for half what I’ve paid elsewhere. And there’s free parking, which in Los Angeles cannot be taken for granted.

Jason took over the business from Angie a while back. While I miss the original owner because she was so sweet, Jason is also pretty awesome! Excellent and efficient customer service. He is always helpful, understanding and polite. He remembers your name and is always willing to help you ship things in a secure way. We love having a mailbox here because Jason makes our lives easier. We always get a convenient email when a package has arrived, so we know when to stop by. I recently had an over-​sized shipment sent to the store and he hung onto it for a few days while I was out of town even though it took up a lot of space. He was even helpful with assisting me in disposing of the packing material. Jason was very patient with us needing to take two trips to get the furniture out of there. He’s always willing to provide a box cutter or some scissors or help you pack your items securely. Their prices are on point with other places, plus they offer lots of cool packaging material for presents. They even have some cute over-​sized cards, candles and adorable little gift items. So, whether I am buying one stamp or shipping Christmas gifts across country, I’d rather go to Jason than stand in line at an unfriendly post office. I’ll be in and out in 5 minutes or be wasting 45 at the latter.
I just wish they had longer hours, but I completely understanding needing a life outside of your business. Only downside is the parking lot gets cramped and street parking is restricted around here. It’s also hard to get out on the Melrose side during rush hour, so I try to exit on the Cahuenga side.

I have been using Jason for all my shipping requirements and highly recommend him for his fast and friendly service including notary.
He always double checks my packaging and retapes anything without charge. Quick service with a smile.

This place is horrible. I showed up at 5pm and the door was locked.
Other unhappy customers were outside as well.
KEEP YOUR HOURS-​If the sign says 6pm STAY OPEN!!!

I have rented a mailbox from Mail Call for several years and couldn’t possibly be happier with the service. I always promptly receive an e-​mail when packages arrive for me. The 24-​hour access to my mailbox comes in very handy. Jason, who runs the store is one of the most helpful, reliable and friendly people I have the pleasure of doing business with. I feel like he’s a part of my family that I can trust. Coming to Mail Call is always an enjoyable experience. I wouldn’t go to any one else for my shipping needs and HIGHLY recommend that you use their services.

Ok, I’ve never written a review for anything but I MUST comment on my recent experience with Mail Call. I had an important, legal document that I quickly needed notarized and overnighted to NY. I went to two Bank of America locations where I bank and they would not notarize anything that wasn’t BOA business, typical. Time was running out, I was not familiar with the area, I found Mail Call on the iPhone and they happily notarized and got the fedex out. Fast forward to a few weeks later when I was anticipating getting document back from my lawyer, an envelope arrived at my place from Mail Call? Apparently our attorney made a mistake and sent my check back Mail Call where I sent my last correspondence from. The staff at Mail Call went through the log, found our address and forwarded my package back to me with a pleasant note. THIS IS SERVICE, I had to share.

Sure the parking is a bit tricky here, but Mail Call is very easy to get to. I came in for the first time today and was really surprised at how helpful and friendly the staff was to all of their customers! They greeted and assisted each person and really make the effort to find the most cost effective services for you. This kind of service can be so rare to find nowadays, especially in LA. If I have any more mailing needs or fingerprinting to be done in the future, I will definitely come back here.

I went in to rent a mailbox for two years, but was told they don’t accept checks. What kind of business says no to checks? Their loss.

If you are in the Hollywood /​Hancock Park area and need a place to deliver your Ebay items or if you need a PO Box, this is a great new business with easy parking. They offer: mail box rental, Ebay consign, overseas shipping and passport photos. When I would bring items in for ship, they promptly compared UPS, FedEx and DHL pricing for me and they don’t tack on extra charges. The best thing is, I’m in and out in a snap!
What I love about independent «mom and pop» places like this is the service. They smile, they care, and they are really organized. Forget Office Depot or Staples. If you are within 10 minutes of Vine and Melrose, this is your place, and I can almost guarantee they will greet you with a smile.
