Great service, good selection of items(more than on their website, but mostly Yonex), good prices. Prices were even better than advertised on their website. Probably the best place to get badminton stuff on the westside.

Note: They Open at 9:30AM, not 9AM. Went in there yesterday(9÷19÷14) after having scoped out their website, where I noticed almost all of their rackets were cheaper or equal to the best I could find online. Plus, I read the reviews about the great customer service, discounts, and rewards card. Well, my fellow Unilocalers didn’t misguide me. I was helped by the son. He was friendly and informative, showing several different rackets to a fast learning novice like me. I opted for the Nanoray 70DX, but I really wanted the 90DX — but I couldn’t justify the $ 30 difference for a hack like me. I figured I’d go with slightly lesser quality so that when I one day did come back to upgrade, it would be a significant upgrade. Man, I’m still thinking about that 90DX though. That said, I’m eager to try out my first racket. No more borrowing a cheapie of a 6-pack set. I waited there while he strung it up to the tune of 24-pound tension. He advised me to not go with more seeing as I was still new, the racket stiff, and I would, thus, likely lose my touch. Yes, I have touch. So I waited and gabbed a little while he went through the monotony of stringing up my new smash machine. It seems like these people(What do you mean ‘these people’?) are knowledgeable about badminton and fishing, so that explains why they cater to only those two sports — not that fishing is a sport. I overheard the dad recommend a heavier lure to a couple of customers. Since they concurred with his assessment, I assumed he knew more than they did on the matter, so he was probably giving them good advice. Or, he just duped two dummies into spending a little more! Nah, I’m not that cynical. They are easy going people(What’s with this ‘people’ thing?) with great customer service and seem to know their stuff. The prices were good. The rewards card is awesome — you get 10% credit on your purchase. So if you spend $ 100, you get $ 10 towards your next purchase. I’m just spelling it out for you dummies. Come on, you know who you are. I highly recommend this place for badminton and fishing stuff. It’s on Santa Monica Blvd, not the city of Santa Monica, near Normandie Blvd in Los Angeles. It’s not exactly the best area, but it’s not the ghetto either. Hmmm… that’s probably not a good way to end a favorable review. He wrapped my racket for me too. I’m not sure that’s standard practice or not, but he did it. I’m rambling now. The end.

Joy Badminton is the best place to visit for purchasing any Yonex Badminton Equipments. They are friendly and honest. Also, they will give you a very good discount. I will definitely going back for more.

Asa(the young korean guy and sorry if mispelled your name) helped me a lot with my first ever badminton racket. I got the Yonex Voltric 50 Neo which cost me $ 140 with the strings and installment. 3 Yonex grips for $ 3.85 too which typically cost $ 6. Got a discount with my racket which the is like $ 160(no strings) when I googled. I was there for a while and they took their time with me, answered all my questions. I started choosing between 8 rackets and he explained thoroughly one by one. Also, you get a %10 discount for your next item. Will definitely recommend and come back next time!

Joy Badminton seriously has the best deal on Badminton supplies in LA. I recently got back into badminton and needed to buy some rackets and shuttlecocks. I shopped around online and at the badminton clubs in the San Gabriel Valley and Joy Badminton beat the prices by far. The store is Korean-owned and they have both badminton and fishing supplies. They carry rackets, shuttlecocks, bags, nets, grips, badminton shoes, and pretty much everything you can think of badminton related. They only have Yonex rackets, which is the best badminton brand anyway. The owners are very nice. I wasn’t sure which ones to buy and the lady who helped me was very helpful. She also gave me a ton of discounts. I got a $ 245 retail price racket for $ 152 and she threw in the nets and handles for free. They give you a 10% store credit that you can use towards the next purchase. I spend over $ 260 so they gave me a card with about $ 26 worth of credit I can use to buy more stuff. That is awesome. I’m so glad I found this store instead of ordering the rackets online or settling for the prices at the badminton clubs. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great fish and tackle shop. Oh also serve as a badminton shop too! If you want an alternative to bass pro shops try this little gem. Im am sure they will have it plus alot of cool korean alternatives. Many times i have gone fishing and people have asked me «where did you get that!!!» I tell them to try the korean fish and tackle shops they seem to be on the cutting edge sometimes. Run by a married couple. She is very helpful. Don’t let her constantly staring make you think she does not trust you. Many times she has rushed towards me to give me a basket when she realized i had my hands full and was having problems carrying items. They both can fish! just look at the photos on the wall. I just wish i knew korean so i could pick their brain for tips

I’ve been going to this fishing tackle/badminton shop since 2009. I upgraded my yonex racket from Sports Authority to a mid-end racket. I keep on going back ever since for racket/equipment upgrades. Their prices are low compared to other places and the internet. They have a wide selection of yonex products. Also, they added mail-order catalog products from Korea. They have catalogs of Victor Korea, Yonex Korea and etc for serious badminton players more expensive though. I recently purchased a fishing rod and equipment. They assisted and explained to me the things I needed for a first timer like me. Again, they gave me discounted prices. I totally recommend this shop for people who loves badminton and fishing. P. I needed badminton shoes and a friend recommended me to this place. It was all the way in Santa Monica but she said that I would find what I was looking for. Parking was kind of a hassle just like with anything else in L.A. I ended up parking a block away. So I went and I got a deal! New badminton shoes at an affordable price! The really nice Korean owner also made me a VIP member. As you all know, VIP stands for Very Important Person. That’s exactly how I felt with the attention and advice they gave me. Go Joy Badminton!

This store is combined with the Fishing Tackle store, previously located at Western Ave, it’s relocated to Little Armenia, much bigger store and cleaner too. I came here without knowing the owner is Korean. When you can speak a little bit of Korean, they treat you like you’re one of them and get you much better price :) I ALWAYS have a GREAT deal coming here. My friends are so jealous coz my badminton racket is new and I paid less than the actual price with free string upgrade and stringing as well. Came here original for some badminton shoe, I already know the market price, but wasn’t so sure on their price and this is wayyy better and very friendly seller, totally awesome service!!! Great selections as well, parking is easy too. Totally recommended!
