History

Established in 1992.

Jeff Kies Custom Picture Framing was started from Jeff’s home in Los Feliz. After 14 years of successful framing for such notables as Wim Wenders, Ridley Scott, and various artists and families around Los Angeles Jeff moved his shop to a space in Atwater Village, which is a small pocket sandwiched between Glendale and Silverlake and where Jeff Kies currently works from for the past 5 years.

Jeff Kies is an artist, born in Ohio he moved to Los Angeles after graduating from art College in the late 70’s. After working for various other frame shops he established is own.

I was born in Ohio and moved to Los Angeles in 1980 after graduating from art school. I came to Los Angeles to work as an illustrator, but finding that kind of work hard to come by I eventually created a picture framing business to frame my own artwork and others the way I wanted art to be displayed. 20 years later and still going strong. Thanks to all my contributors that believed and made it all happen.
