The Great Escape Club

I’ve been here for parties, free play and even held a workshop here. It’s a great place in the area to go to if you have kids for a whole mess of reasons. I love everyone here and they’re all insanely nice and always do whatever they can to accommodate you. Check it out. You’ll love it!

The Great Escape Club is such a retreat for parents! It is filled with clean, carefully chosen developmental toys, and lots of equipment to let kids explore. The atmosphere is so beautiful and welcoming and the owners, Jay and Jordana, are moms who understand what other moms are looking for. My business partner and I have utilized the retreat space for our business meetings while our little ones play next door under the excellent supervision of the employees. I can’t recommend the Great Escape enough! 5 stars!

I LOVE this place!
I was hosting a group play date and we got completely rained out of our park plan and I was desperate to find a place where my 6 sweet pals under the age of 4 could play, explore, discover and have fun together. I called so many places: church basements, libraries, etc. and all of them were very expensive.
I called Jay at the Great Escape and she was SO accommodating, kind and generous.
It was by far our cheapest solution and the BEST fun. Jay was relaxed and positive and welcomed us with open arms (even opening a bit early so we could keep our schedule).
The kids had a blast! We stayed there for 4 hours and they could have stayed for 4 more.
We will definitely come back.

It’s always a great experience when a business far exceeds one’s expectations. The Great Escape Club did just that yesterday afternoon.
I scheduled a 4^th birthday party celebration for my granddaughter and I couldn’t have been more pleased.
The owner, Jordana met with me week or so prior to the event and was thoughtful and kind in helping me plan this event.
Everything (and I mean everything) went very smoothly and obviously Jordana’s years of experience really paid off.
Absolutely nothing to worry about and all aspects of the event (food, desert, set up, clean up, face painting and non permanent kid’s tattoos) went off without a hitch.
Pizza delivery was exactly on time (they handle that for you) and the pizza was wonderful.
Bottom line, the kids really enjoyed themselves big time and the adults had nothing to be even remotely concerned with.
I highly recommend this wonderful venue for your child’s party.
Really nice folks, very relaxed and easy to do business with.

What can I say about this place! I had my twins 2^nd birthday there. It was truly the best experience ever! Jordana was incredible. She made every one of my guests feel so comfortable (we had several adults there). She made set up and clean up a breeze. The place is perfect for kids 2−5÷6 years old. I love that there’s a patio along with another room for the ‘grown ups’ to be in. It’s super clean and modern. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone planning there’s kids birthday.

This is a great business! The kids can have supervised play while I do work. Plus I was there for a private kids birthday party and it was the perfect place to let the kids run around while the adults had a moment to chat. Highly recommended.

We held a Halloween get together over the weekend and I have to say that I was more than impressed by this place! We already have plans to have another get together here. It is a great space!!! Love that there is a separate area/​kitchen to set up food. Jordana was so so accommodating and super nice! It really is a GREAT ESCAPE. The kids enjoyed the play area while the adults/​parents enjoyed and relaxed in the patio. The whole place is clean, modern, and not too cluttered esp. the kids play area as in some places they just have way too much! Can’t wait to go back! I’m glad I found this place.

I took my 5-​yr old son to the Great Escape Club yesterday — Labor Day. As we entered, the person at the register didn’t explain anything about the place — not even asking if it’s our first time there. So, we paid and just let him play. My husband and I sat on one of the couches — I didn’t even see the other «relaxing» room until we were already leaving because she didn’t tell us about them at all. They had a Keurig in the front, but again I don’t know if you had to pay for coffee or if that was free — because she didn’t say anything.
About the play area — it is TINY. It’s about as big as someone’s small backyard. I think this place is best for kids under 4. There is not much to do for bigger kids. There’s a small bounce house, a slide, a few ride-​ons, a train table, some dress-​ups and some books. There’s also a baby area, which took up a great deal of space in the already tiny playroom.
All in all, my son had some fun, but he’s 5 –he has fun most anywhere. This place is literally 1 block away from my in-​laws’ place and I was hoping it would be a place we could go to often. But for $ 12 I expected more. Perhaps I’ve been spoiled by Under the Sea, Magical Playground, Adventureplex… all places that charge less than $ 12 and provide way more.

i tried out the Great Escape on a Groupon deal, and am glad i didn’t pass it up.
the space is clean and staff really friendly and helpful. they have a clean outdoor space for eating, and they keep an eye on your little if you need to step away.
the other thing i love about Great Escape? there are tons of great food options within a two block radius. just to name a few: Proof Bakery — one of my favorite LA bakeries, Canele, this Taco stand just a few doors south, El Buen Gusto — one of my long time go-to’s in LA for pupusas, i’ve ordered pizza from Tomato Pie, and had it delivered… pretty good!
the Great Escape is a great add to this neighborhood and I highly recommend it to any parent!
they have three parking spots in the back (marked spaces 1, 2 and 3), or you can park on the street and feed the meters.

so since my review, I’ve been back twice. on my second visit, they only had one person working and one lil girl playing which I assume belonged to the employee because she kept taking things away from my daughter and saying, «mine, mine, mine.» I tried to tell her to stop but I really don’t like to tell other people’s kids what to do because I wouldn’t appreciate it myself. after about 45 mins of this on top of the employee sitting from corner to corner talking on the phone, I took my daughter and left.
being that I got a 10 visit membership (why!?!), I decided to go back. this time, I was hoping to get some work done because I needed to and an hour of child care came with each visit. there were two employees. the same one from last time who was talking on the phone (and mind you, she was still talking on the phone this time) and a new one I hadn’t seen. I told them I needed to work and went to the escape part after about 30 mins to give my daughter time to warm up. I wasn’t even able to put my bag down before they brought her to me :(so I just let her stay on the «escape side» with me and did as much work as I could but I could still hear all the phone conversations o₀ to the point where I was just too annoyed and had to leave!
great idea but didn’t work for me or another mom that was in there. never went back even though I had visits left on my membership.

Great play area for younger kids and good to have an indoor space like this for kids on rainy days and super hot days to get some physical activity. Staff is very nice, but not very attentive. I came here because I thought they help look after your kids so you can relax a little (hello, great escape?), sadly that did not happen for me. Not only were they not staffed enough to look after the kids (I never saw more than one staff person at a time and that person was answering phone calls, checking people in, and supposed to watch the kids, too?) Additionally, I tried to get the attention of a worker but she could not hear me over the very loud air conditioning unit. It was annoying that I had to come around to the front to find her texting or doing something to her phone.
Don’t let the name fool you. You will not get a break here. If you are looking for a clean place to play with your little ones it’s good. Maybe they just had an off day while I was there. Will probably give them another try.

A very neat family owned place. My daughter loves coming here. It’s clean and the toys are new.

I love this place! Im a canadian living in belgium and have a sister living in LA that I am visiting right now.
I had such a hard time keeping my toddler of 16 months occupied, it gets just too hot in the afternoon to go to the outdoor playgrounds. The slides and the sand are boiling hot.
So I found this great place via Unilocal and accidentally drove past in on our way to the americana.
The owner (i should ask her name next time) is so incredibly nice. So helpful and gives you a great introduction to the play area.
Its clean and had a lot of toys that my son loves, but his favourite is certainly the cars he can sit it.
You can sit and enjoy a coffee and browse the internet on the free wifi or just follow your little one around like i love to do because there is just so much to discover and i love watching him play!
We’ve already been there twice since we’ve been here and we will certainly be back a few times before we go because my son just loves it!

I had my son’s 1^st birthday here and it went really well. The staff was awesome and the venue was amazing. If you rent out the entire spot, you don’t have to hear screaming kids the entire time :) The only reason I couldn’t give 5 stars is because if you book for a 2 hour event– you just have 15 minutes to set up and 15 minutes to clean up (of course with their help)…other than that, I LOVED this place! I would definitely recommend it.

Great play space. I would give this place 5 stars if the floors were thoroughly cleaned more often. I took my son in and after playing here for an hour, his feet were literally black! Yuck! I know they have a lot of parties in over the weekend and I felt like they didn’t do a great job cleaning as this incident was on a Monday.
Come on guys! Please clean the floors more often!

A lifesaver! I was able to get some work done in the lounge, then came back to the play room and we had a blast. Nice equipment. Very clean. Staff was very sweet.

Great concept! I’ve been to many activity centers for children, but I’m always looking for a place to relax while my children enjoy themselves. I finally found a place that gets it right.
I love that they have staff that actually supervise children if the parents need a rest or to accomplish some work while our kids are stimulated. The environment is refreshingly well maintained. Its obvious that the owners/​operators are parents and clearly understand the concerns and needs of both children and adults.
I’ve also been to a few birthday parties there and enjoyed all they have offered. Worth checking out for parties or just an afternoon event for the kids.

Had my 3 year old’s birthday party here. This place is GREAT. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. The play area was both clean and filled with tons of great toys. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I LOVE the outdoor area where all the adults hung out while the kids played. It was a HOT weekend but they have a great sail shade so it wasn’t TOO bad. The other rooms (I’m guessing its the adult work area) are also decorated really tastefully. We didn’t utilize the space but a friend did use it to BF her newborn and it was a nice change from the usual bathroom/​closet feed.
The only suggestion I have is to perhaps find a solution to the door problem. There were a few close calls where kids almost had fingers smashed because they were going in/​out so often between the play room and the outdoor area. Maybe a large sliding glass door would be nice too so that adults could better watch their kids while they played? Although there was always 2 staff members in the play room and I felt that the kids were very safe. But it’s still nice to be able to view them anyways.

The concept is genius — A kids play space with an escape clause for embattled parents desperate to read one uninterrupted Facebook post — or compose an entire sentence without distraction.
The Great Escape Club is nicely divided into a few distinct parts:
1) The children’s play area: A large open beam space that is all about fun & play. Perfect for parties and daily escapes.
2) Buffered from the play by an outdoor area is an instantly relaxing ‘living room’ area perfectly tuned to decompression for the frazzled mom or dad.
3) A workspace with desks, tables and generous quantities of natural light — perfect for getting answering that email that has been half written for 2 weeks.
This area has been starved for a space like this for a long time — and we are very excited to welcome them to the neighborhood!!!
They are not ‘officially’ open yet — I was excited to be one of the first to enjoy the guilt free peace and quiet!
