After a long night of drinking… we woke up with the idea that we just HAD to make grilled cheese panini’s with tomato soup to nurse our woes. So off we went to the Farmer’s Market at the Grove to search for the«perfect» bread with which to make our glorious cheesy creations… Stop #1: THEBREADBIN now…the Hungarian guy behind the counter makes all of his breads FRESH and with NO preservatives… and he’s very proud if this. You can tell each little loaf is made with love and he’ll pick out just the right thing for ya and follow it up with instructions on how to care for you new little bundle of doughy goodness. He knew what we were talking about when we inquired about panini bread(Chris bought me a press for Christmas and we’ve yet to use it… so we needed the right bread to get those cool grill lines on! lol)…but alas, he didn’t have what we THOUGHT we were looking for. Instead… he recommended this wheat bread and said that it was what HE used for his grilled cheesies! We even had the choice of getting it sliced or doing it ourselves(and of course Chris in all of his manliness said, «No no no, I’ll cut it!!» So I’ll have to update you later on how THAT works out! lol It will either be a) perfection b) screwed up slices or c) a reason to visit the emergency room… reattaching a finger or the like!). Mr. Bread Guy told us that since it’s preservative-free that it’s best to keep his loaves in the FREEZER. Plus… easier to slice. MMMMMMM. Bread. A girl’s best friend… screw diamonds.

The best little jewish bakery in LA. The owner always pretends like he remembers me and is extra nice… its the little touches like that which make a visit to the Bread Bin special. The breads and cookies are fantastic… The Black and White cookies here make Noah’s ones seem like a cheap chain-store imitation… oh, wait.
