Guardian Pool Fence Systems

My pool fence got hit by a tree during the big storm Sunday and completely ripped. I brought it to the van nuys office and they fixed it while I waited for a nominal fee. great service!

I received a call from Lisa today with an apology and the promise that I would received a supply of pole caps delivered to my home tomorrow. A follow-​up call from the East Coast from Adam asked if I had received the call and if I was satisfied with the resolution and his apology as well. Of course, I am pleased with the final outcome and the assurance that customer service and satisfaction are paramount for the company. My confidence is restored!

We got what we paid for which is hard to find this days. The installer showed up on time and did the job under one hour. I recommend using this guys for removable pool fences.

Had our 18 panel pool fence installed in 2005. Noticed some of the mesh was torn so I decided to call regarding «lifetime warranty». Was asked to take pics of it and submit. Pleased to hear back eithin 24hrs that they honored the warranty and sent a technician out to repair it the same week. «Ed» showed up and was early, very honest and professional. Said he could only repair what was torn which was 7 panels, but could see other areas we would need to have mended in a few months. Mended would mean. stapling the holes together. I would need to call again to set up another repair. Ed then offered another option. have all the mesh replaced now but we would need to pay the service fee which included transporting all the panels to the factory for repair and bringing it back. This was not part of the warranty which made sense. Within a few hours, Ed was back and had the whole system up and my fence looks brand new. For the low service fee, it was well worth the money, considering we paid close if not a little over $ 1000 for the gate system which thus far lasted us 10 years and now I have a system that will last me at least another 10 years! Would not hesitate to refer Guardian to anyone looking for a pool fence. No need to show receipt of initial purchase. They stick by their word… lifetime warranty :)

I received a «Nastygram» from the manager (via Unilocal), calling me an «Idiot» and stated that, «You’re as dumb as your dog.» No help of any kind. No offer to make things better.
That’s probably not the best way to represent your company folks!

If you need a pool fence, this is the place to go! We had our grandkids coming for the first time and needed to safeguard the pool. We saw an ad for Guardian Pool Fence System on a Sunday, called the next day on Monday and had the fence completely installed 2 days later on Wednesday. The kids arrived Thursday! I can’t tell you how wonderful it was to have peace of mind while our 2−½ year old grandson enjoyed the backyard without fear of him falling into the pool! The installers were on time, courteous, efficient at their task and cleaned up after themselves (HUGO you rock!) Thank you DEAN for taking the time to get here in a hurry and see the project through. Prompt service, the estimator came out and explained everything to me in detail, gave me all my options and then some. Installation was at a later date, but still prompt, and the work looks great. Overall very happy with the service.

COLD HARD FACTS:
If you live in the City of Los Angeles and your pool enclosure is being inspected by an inspector from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety in order to meet code requirement — this is the company that you need to go with. They are the only company that meets City of LA approval for a removable pool fence which is anchored to the deck by their patented locking mechanism. They will provide you with the correct certification to give to your city inspector.
I bid my job with two other removable pool fence companies who both came in with slightly lower bids but neither company could give a guarantee that their fence system would pass code with LADBS. Guardian Pool Fence will give you this guarantee. Again, if you are in the City of LA and need to pass a city inspection — GO WITH THIS COMPANY.
Now that the pool fence is installed and our pool has been filled — we are very satisfied with the product. We occasionally will remove sections of the fence temporarily for cleaning and some pool parties and it is always easy to put back in place.
The gentlemen who bid and installed the fence were great to work with and very conscientious about the work they did and paid careful attention to small details — which is very important to me.
The only criticism I have is that they can be somewhat inflexible with their pricing once they know that you need to pass inspection — they were around $ 450 more than the next lowest bid. I did deal with the owner of the company on the phone and he tends to be a stickler on his pricing. I hope his demeanor towards customer becomes a little softer.
Overall — An excellent pool fence that will make you rest easy when your kids are out in the backyard.

I called to get general information on a weighted system for my existing pool fence. I was connected with the DIY specialist. He was rude from the moment our conversation started.
I explained I had a portable fence but I did not believe it was guardian and that I was looking to use a weighted system when I moved the fence. As it turns out they have a patent and «specifically designed if not to work with anybody else’s system». Good for them! Only problem is the staff could have politely explained that but he was incredibly rude. Truly it was as if he was annoyed that I would have dared purchase another product.
Naturally, I do not want to invest in another fence if it’s possible. Obviously I made a good choice with the fence I chose. It’s been 6 years and it is still in perfect condition. If only I could remember the name of it!
Guardian definitely needs to learn that arrogance and pride isn’t going to make a sale.
**Note I rarely give negative reviews but they earned it.

The installer Don came on time as promised, very courteous and helpful, the job was done in the time that it was promised and so far it looks great.

Quality product as described, would highly recommend. If you have problems work with Adam.

I received great service from beginning to end. The estimator came out and provided us with a lot of education on our pool fence selection and made a good recommendation. He even brought out the full fence panels so that we could see what it would look like in our yard. When I looked into what the main difference is with Guardian and their competitors is that the fence is made in the USA! They even let me visit their facility to see for myself. I scheduled the install at 2:00 pm on a Friday and they happen to have an installer available the next morning at 9:00 am. Everything went very smoothly. We are so happy we put in the fence because it gives us a piece of mind.

Bunch of liars! I got their $ 100 coupon in the mail, so called to get an estimate. Was told different prices over the phone (starting with $ 12 per foot) yet when the man came, nothing was available under $ 20 per foot. Also, he refused to use my $ 100 coupon, claiming it was a smaller job so only $ 50. Finally, I was told that none of the material was available for another 2 – 3 weeks and then another wait of 2 – 3 weeks for installation… Why would i need this 2 months later? AND OVERPAY as much as many other companies available like lifefence or katchakid, better deal, better price and much faster than this guardian company who can’t even honor their quotes or coupons! won’t deal or recommend my friends and neighborgs… owner said that’s fine, they already have too much business as it is — isn’t that great customer service?

David came by and did the installation today and did a wonderful job. He was very professional and took the time to explain how the product works after installing it. I will recommend them to everyone thanks to David.

I had just had a swimming built and I decided to use Guardian Gates based on my swimming pool contractors (California Pools) recommendation.
I met with a salesperson Jim who was super cool and relaxed. He recommend certain options to explore. I decided to go with the 4′ height gate with two doors. I choose the brown metal poles with black mesh which better matches the color of my backyard.
Gerry did the installation and the work was spotless. I am very happy with the work done. Gerry took about two hours to finish the job. The gate latch lock is good quality stuff.
I would recommended Guardian Gates to anyone that has a swimming pool.

I chose the do it yourself route through the childguard system. I needed to childproof the pool for our dog/​house sitter that has a one year old and I did not want to spend $ 1,500 to 2,500. I also hate having people I don’t know being on our property. The fencing comes in 6′ or 12′ sections and you order all the parts you need. I ordered 5′ tall so the house meets California inspection if we ever sell. Very lucky for me our backyard from house to fence is 18′ exactly. They have a system that walks you through ordering all the parts and tools you need to install that was very simple (I got it right the first time with no leftover parts or reordering).
I almost chose to not rent the $ 180 drill guide due to the cost. I was worried that I would never get my $ 163.50 bucks back (minus shipping) when I returned it. I’m so glad I sucked it up and paid for it. While using this very beefy guide that makes sure your holes are drilled perfectly level, it was plain to see that not using would have made a big mess of my backyard concrete and would have made for a loose wavy ugly noneffective fence. I had to do some heavy leaning and spend about 2 hours drilling holes but everything is pretty simple and straightforward. Additional tools you may need are a chalkline, magic marker, small sledge hammer and small wood block if using any dirt spikes, small drill bit/​drill to start the eye hooks in wood and the poles and measuring tape.
The parts and fence shipped to my house within a couple of days. The instructions were easy to read and understand although it seemed daunting until I dove in and started. The fence is nice and constructed well. I chose to not have a gate and it’s easy to separate the two panels to get through when you need to but still effective as a safety device. I installed it in about 3 hours (I took breaks between drilling because it wore me out).
I lost the address to ship the drill guide back and sent an email to ask. I got a response the same day. I shipped it back and got my refund back on my credit card within a couple days of shipping it. My total cost was $ 297.55! Money well spent for peace of mind and reducing the liability of owning a pool. Do it yourself is totally the way to go!

Update: I too have every email and a phone call including the two that went unanswered. One of them requested to have the owner contact me, as I wanted clarification and /​or escalation on my warranty issue. This never occurred. Is it so out of line to want to talk to the owner? It’s rude for the owner to hide behind his staff and not even care for a personal contact. That’s the problem with businesses these days.
Consumers need to know the business they are dealing with before spending potentially thousands of dollars.
Sorry, but this disintegration is a failure of the material.
