Faultline Cleaners

Dry cleaning typical run of the mill but also with limited hours. The price they charged for dry cleaning was pretty pricey in comparison to many other cleaners.
They also don’t have many times on which you can pick up your dry cleaning. The timeliness of my clothes was a bit slow as well.

Worst cleaners ever. The one time I ever went, I had my pants dry cleaned before a big job interview, planning to spend a little more to look professional. This place left me otherwise. They ruined my zipper and told me that it needed to be replaced. Then they charged me anyways. Worst customer service ever. I told her I have never had a problem with the zipper, they were expensive pants that were practically new. She shrugged. DO NOT come here. Not worth the stress. Ended up buying brand new dress pants for the interview, on top of paying for cleaners that clean your pants but also ruin them.

Last time I visited this place I got into a verbal argument with the owner. Very Rude, and did not want to honor their own coupon. When asked him why his answer was «I do not accept coupons». Do not waste your time at this place without coupon this is a overpriced cleaners with a nasty attitude.

This review is for tailoring only, since I don’t really do dry cleaning due to skin sensitivity to the chemicals.
I’ve been coming here for 5 years to get my tailoring done. Primarily designer jean hemming (both original hem and not) and annually, some jacket and dress sleeve lengthening, etc.
Pretty consistent, solid tailoring! There used to be two ladies, and the older one botched a couple of my jeans, arguing with me when I pointed out the uneven hem and where stitch marks where visible when a crooked hem had been taken out and re-​hemmed. But I haven’t had a problem in 4 years since the older one left! Now, I get great hems, fast service, and a friendly face.
I recently had a friend from out of town take her bridesmaid dress here for a rush job and she was so pleased with it. Thank you!

I last reviewed Faultline Cleaners in August, 2012 and gave them a 1-​star review based upon how dirty my dress shirts were after cleaning, and upon how they destroyed some shirts with overly vigorous, mechanical cleaning techniques.
I have actually been happy with their quality (and their on-​line coupons for dry-​cleaning!) for the past 12 – 18 months. Anyway, I keep going back to them which is a good sign. Their dress-​shirt service is quite good these days. And they have not damaged anything for the last 2 years.
Tonight, however, they made me angry again. I pulled up at 7:53 pm after having frantically rushed to select the items I needed to be dry-​cleaned for my vacation next week. Every other weekday I have been there before, or even at, 8:00pm they have been open. Tonight, the doors were closed, the lights dimmed, and I saw a figure move into the dark area behind the front counter. They left their bag and some other personal items on the counter in plain view.
I checked the business hours posted — they close at 9:00 pm M-​F. Today is Friday. I knocked and yelled into the store but no one responded. I waited for about 5 minutes outside, then another couple minutes in my car to see if they came out. But no one did.
Note: When I drove by 20 – 30 minutes later, unsurprisingly, the items on the counter were gone.
Some Advice:
1. If you are closing early, at least put up a sign stating why! There was no sign tonight.
2. Don’t hide in the back when I know you are there! And don’t leave your stuff in plain view, only to take it with you when you actually sneak out of the building once I’m gone!
3. Don’t diss your patrons! Especially the ones who give you lots of business. I’ve spent several hundred dollars in the past 4 weeks alone doing a «Fall Cleaning» of all my clothes.
I gave them 2 stars today. If what happened tonight had not occurred, I would have given them 3 or 4 stars for their recent, good service.
PS:
The 3 – 4 stars would have been for simple dry-​cleaning of shirts, pants, sweaters plus their dress-​shirt laundry/​press service. I would probably not use them for extremely expensive designer items, nor would I use them for leather cleaning since I have a trusted specialist who does that.

Avoid, avoid, avoid! Ruined 2 new shirts in the past 2 – 3 months. Never going back…

These guys have always been very helpful, on time and friendly. I’ve seen quite a few reviews by people who have unfortunately gotten items back in not the same shape they dropped them off which is unfortunate, because I’ve been going here once a week for 2 years without a problem. Statistically, you’re safe here and no worse off then anywhere else.

The worst customer service. The manager would not honor a coupon that she herself told me to print out and bring and she called me a liar. There are plenty of dry cleaners around don’t use this place. Everyone deserves good customer service for service you are paying for.

Completely dissatisfied ruined expensive Ralph Lauren sweater and they refused to pay.
If you have fine garments I advise you to stay away from his establishment

I used to love it. Now I hate it.
Took in my favorite shirt there which came back with a giant scorch mark caused by an iron.
«No sir, that isn’t a scorch mark.»
Oh really, a triangular, brown colored stain in the exact size and shape of the top of an iron that wasn’t there when I brought it in?

I went there yesterday to alter my clothes and dry clean. I asked the woman who worked there how much per each dry clean and alteration. She was very confused because I have 3 pants to alter and one dress to fix. I understand it’s confusing. That’s why I asked her how much per each. She did not really want to tell me. She just told me the dry clean coupon did not apply on alteration. I said that’s fine. After a while, she comes up with a price that I don’t know how you come up with. But I asked her at least 3 times the price of individual clothes and alteration. After I left the store less than 15 min, she called and said gave me the wrong price. I was very very upset and asked for speaking with a supervisor. First she said he is at lunch, then she said he is here. She put me on hold for forever. I hang up. Then a guy called me back claimed that he is a supervisor. He was also very very rude. No apology and said if you want me to tell you how much, that’s how much. I was very angry and told him that’s not the way to do business. He said anything else, that’s how much. I went back after I hang up the phone and took back all the clothes. I never ever want to go back. Terrible service and not honest!!!

I’ve been going to fault line for 5 years. They have 20% off and 30% off for 10 items or more coupons online so i always go in with one of those. My clothes get clean, i’m in and out quickly and the price per piece isn’t sob-​inducing when I use the coupons. Soooo I’m a fan.
it’d be nice if they had a tailor there longer than business hours (since I am at work during those hours) but She’s also there on saturdays so it works out.

Worst experience ever, they stretch out your clothing and ruin all the buttons on your clothing as well. Your are lucky if your clothes still have the buttons attached when picking up. Guaranteed that your buttons will at the very least have chips or nicks on them. Upon wearing your clothing, they have a very different feel once using this dry cleaners as once again, your clothing your be stretched out and never the same again. Use this dry cleaners carefully. I would NOT recommend even if it was free.

This is the worst of the worst cleaners ever they do not know how to dry clean and if you are lucky that they don’t damage your clothes please please if you do not want to throw your money away or get damaged clothes back which happened to my expensive dress do not go to Faultine cleaners

I’ve had a wonderful experience with Faultline for all 3 categories — dry cleaning, alterations and shoe repair. I actually started at Sterling drycleaners which is 50 feet from Faultline lol — it’s just that Sterling charges $ 25 to Drycleaner a simple every day work dress. Faultline charges $ 15 and does a great job. Faultline has done an amazing job with my alterations and shoe/​purse repairs too. All of my items tend to be fairly expensive — I was sending things to New York for repair (particulary my vintage purses — Artbag in NY is where everyone goes) but now I dont have to thanks to Faultline. They are lightening quick too. I’ve been super pleased and am a tough audience. I wouldn’t let these reviews stand. Drycleaners are in abundance on Westwood boulevard and Faultline is definitely a top pick.

When I lived in Westwood, I was looking for a good dry cleaner in the area and was even willing to pay a premium for my more expensive items. Judging by the price, I figured that Faultline would be a decent place. But I was wrong. I paid a premium price but the quality of the dry cleaning did not match up. I had a suit and 2 work shirts dry cleaned. Everything looked great when I picked them up – all pressed and neat…
But when I dressed for an interview weeks later, I discovered that the sleeves of my shirts (both of them!) were STILL DIRTY. For the price I paid and the service I received, it was a complete rip-​off! Dont go here!

I picked up my suit, having been dry cleaned at Faultline many times before. Some days later I took the suit to work, to change into before going out on a business event. The pressed suit was all wrapped up… but when I put on my pants, one leg was completely unstitched a the hem. Not a thread left, yet it was pressed and put on a hanger. The other leg had the original stitching. I made a tape repair and wore the suit that night. Returning it to Faultline, I explained the situation, that somebody might have made an honest mistake. They provided a receipt for cleaning but only a one cent charge for re-​stitching for accounting purposes. Days later, the pants are not done, not even cleaned yet, they called to confirm a fee for re-​stitching on a voicemail. I went over, explained once more how I thought a mistake had been made. The worker would not deal with it. Became complaining and accusing that I brought the pants like that and they wouldn’t do a repair unless charged.
I asked for all clothes I had on file, closed out the tab, took my dirty damaged suit pants, reminded him that I had been a customer since they first opened in our neighborhood… then told him I was through with Faultline. Plenty of other cleaners in this neighborhood.
DON“T BOTHER Faultline with your business.

This place does excellent cleaning and tailoring. I’ve been going here for years, and they never disappoint. The only reason why I gave 4 stars is because they can get expensive, but I think it’s worth it for the quality of the work and the service.
Also, their shoe repair person, Giovannni, does impeccable work. He recently redid some Cole Haan boots that I didn’t have the heart to get rid of, which were really torn up after years of abuse, and they are like brand new.

Oh my goodness — the WORST alterations EVER. I left about 5 new jeans with them — worth $ 1000, and they ruined every pair! Not only were the laterations sewn crocked, but the stitching inside was a MESS. People only tend to look at the outside but be sure to check the inside. The threads were already starting to unravel. My jeans that I wanted to wear on my birthday needed a new button and as soon as I went home and put them on, the night of my party, they button came right back off! I had to rush there again to have them fix it.
NEVER NEVER NEVER — such a rip off for low quality work!
