I am probably in the minority in that I actually enjoy going to a dentist, so I think I pay attention to things that maybe others don’t in a dental practice. It shows that Dr. Aguil and his staff do their best to make a visit to the dentist an enjoyable experience. They are kind and compassionate. They take time in explaining procedures and are constantly checking in to see that I am was comfortable during treatments. I have gone to Dr. Aguil now on several different occasions and I am always impressed by his level of attention and that he doesn’t just hand me off to a hygienist the whole time. I’ve been to some pretty bad dental practices in the past, so I am happy to refer Dr. Aguil and Exquisite Dentistry.

Exquisite Dentistry did such a great job on my porcelain veneers! I couldn’t be happier with my new smile. Also, it’s awesome that you can watch Netflix in the dentists chair!

Overall, this is the most pleasant dental experience you can go through. From a root canal/​wisdom extraction to teeth cleaning Dr. Aguill and his staff are as nice and professional as they come and they made my experience as easy as it can possibly be. I will never go to another dentist office!

For years, I neglected my mouth and didn’t really think much about my teeth. Dr. Aguil and his team have fixed everything up – and for the first time in years, I love my teeth. The office is luxurious and comfortable, the staff is all friendly and caring, and the care is top-​notch. Would recommend Exquisite Dentistry to anyone.

I just had a root canal yesterday and I don’t know why I was so terrified! This was the most gentle and easy root canal I’ve ever experienced. Not only did I not feel any pain whatsoever, Dr. Aguil repeatedly asked me if I was doing ok. I watched a movie on Netflix during my root canal and when it was over, I was so surprised that it wasn’t as bad as I thought!

Today was my first visit to Exquisite Dentistry LA. Finally someone got it right! Dr. Aguil has one of the most dynamic and cutting edge practices in LA. Netflix to watch in the chair, x-​ray machines that take a millisecond to film, orthoscopic cameras to educate and show you any trouble spots, natural organic toothpaste and mouth rinse… with hot lavender towels to end your visit. Almost more spa than dental practice. I highly recommend for those seeking a higher level of service and modern day dental experience.

When I was a kid I had a mouthful of braces and extenders, retainers and even something called a distal jet (which sounds a lot cooler than it felt) and the process left just about all of my teeth decalcified and eroded. Also, I may have avoided flossing but I plead the fifth.
Then I moved to LA and after years of denial finally accepted that my teeth were in distress. I found the amazing Dr. Aguil and his equally attentive, supportive staff via Unilocal and it was the best choice I could have made:
I had stained teeth, cavities like canyons, and needed a very delicate crown on an essential tooth. With insurance, all were taking care of at reasonable prices — in shockingly few and quick appointments. Within a month I found myself with a bright white smile, almost zero pain (seriously), and all cavities repaired to perfection.
This staff is both professional experts and charming company. I’ll never dread a dentist appointment again. Recently went for a regular cleaning and to my shock what I thought were small-​but-​permanent new stains on my front teeth were cleared instantly.
Scheduling new appointments a few months from now was a no-​brainer. This group is the best in LA. I almost don’t want to get the word out bc they’re so good I want to keep them under the radar — but they’re already soaring and others deserve the treatment I continue to receive. Did I mention they let you watch Netflix on a personal screen with comfortable headphones during any procedure? Personally I now prefer the banter with the staff, but on my first few nervous visits it was a luxury.
In particular Dr. Aguil replaced an essential tooth with a crown that is a masterpiece; it’s feels and looks better than I could have ever expected. You would never know it’s not my original tooth. I almost forgot it happened.
I’m not a regular Unilocal reviewer but this is an exception well deserved.
Exquisite Dentistry is exactly that. Exquisite in every way.

I have since moved from the area, but went to Dr. Aguil for a year or two. While I was there I always felt a bit like he was trying to fill a LOT of teeth. I.e. I had been to the dentist within a year of seeing him and had maybe 2 «watch and wait» cavities according to that dentist. In Aguil’s office, they rolled out with 16 or so cavities on my «plan»! It seemed like a ton to me– but they assured me I need not fill them all at once.
So we began filling them by region– 3 – 4 at a time every six months. For the first visit they were nice about waiting at times for my insurance, but then would tell me I «needed» 3 – 4 cavities filled every 6 months or so, and I didn’t feel like I always got a good explanation. From listening in to other patients rolling in, it seemed that everyone had three cavities or more at a time.
Last year, for one cavity, while filling, he admitted that I MIGHT need a root canal because it was so bad that he had to drill extra deep.
After that filling, there was a huge gap between two of my teeth, which he fixed for free on my next visit (that was nice). In any case, though, it was disappointing how much my tooth hurt from the extra deep filling. I couldn’t bite down on that side for months. He said to come back if it hurt after a month and we could talk root canal– but gosh that scared me.
Then I moved and got a new dentist. The new dentist said I didn’t need the 3 – 4 fillings that Aguil’s office said I should get next (last January)– and that I wouldn’t need a root canal– just time to heal– what a relief. Six months later my tooth is fine.
My biggest concern is that I think this office often is trying to maximize profits– they send postcards asking if your full dental benefit has been used up for the year– and schedule one quadrant of fillings at a time (3 – 4 at a time)– which means some small cavities get priority over deeper ones depending on location as far as I can see. On the one hand, I feel like over filling was going on– and on the other hand, I had that one tooth that should have been filled earlier (after I’d gotten multiple fillings within a single year!).
Before going to this office, I never had more than 2 fillings in a single sitting. Here, it seems that quantity is a thing.
I do think he is genuinely trying to keep up a good reputation and do good work– and when I did have an issue with the tooth gap he did the right thing and fixed it for free.
But I can’t shake the feeling that sometimes profit seemed more of a motive than what was best for the patient. I didn’t always feel I got a good breakdown of what I needed and why– I was just told: you need this. I like it when my doctors, mechanics, and dentists treat me as someone who is intelligent, and who can understand ambiguity in decision making– and who explain the pro’s and con’s and options to me– but I never felt like that was the vibe I got from this place. Of course they solicit feedback– but I never felt like I got thorough answers. I fear I got some fillings I really didn’t need– and missed a filling that should have come much sooner. Ultimately I felt in the dark– and now have a dentist whose office isn’t as flashy, but I feel like I can trust.

I’ve waited almost two years to visit the Dentist offices of Dr. Aguil, (I was waiting to get my insurance to cover). What I most like about him is that he LISTEN, this was hard in past experiences, I wanted to get my front teeth bonding replace, and most Doctors would recommend me to have Veneers made instead. I do want to keep my front teeth intact, and wanted to have just the bonding job done, as it was done for me at first. Dr. Alguil listen, told me his professional opinion, and follow up with my comfort zone and needs. He did a magnificent work with the bonding. I am still wanting some things done, and we are taking it step by sep. I appreciate a good cosmetic dentistry, and if you are looking for a Hollywood smile, then you’ve found the right place!

After consulting with another billing company, the over billing is a fact — or rather — the selected items for the bills are overlapped across several items, especially for a same day billing. As a result, I cannot use my benefits this year due its 12 mon /​6 mon policy per item listed that are available to me.
As a patient, I am not educated about how billing thing works like most, and only find out next year that you abused my insurance policy, and as a result it prohibited me from taking advantage of it in the following year. The response was that some items were likely declined as a result of your over billing, regardless, the benefits are lost on my end.
You office checked off way too many items off of my available policy instead of just a few that is appropriate for the services, and yes they’re hard coded, just to get more $ out of my insurance company. It’s a disappointing discovery becuz this year I have to out pocket most of the dental costs as a result.
Anyways, your response is irreverent to my complaint and I understand you want to maintain your reputation. People should know however that they should check their billing prior your submission to prevent this from happening. This is a closed case for me as its irreversible at this point, and I really did not expect a communication in public here about my health either. So please respectfully refrain from sharing my private info any further. As for over-​niceness, I’m sorry that its really just my personal opinion, thank you.

I absolutely love Dr. Aguil. I have become quite a chicken about going to the Dentist. Every single person who works this office is genuinely kind and lovely.
First rate– from the teeth cleaning, x-​rays, netfix to the scented hot towels at the end of your visit.
I seriously don’t think I will ever go to another dentist.

When George Washington became the first President of the USA, he was tasked with coining the term to use for addressing the President. He settled on «His Excellency», to convey that a person holding that office is of a certain caliber. Kings are addressed as «His Majesty». Exquisite Dentistry knows this, and the experience lives up to the name. They really are as Exquisite as Dentistry can be.
It smells good in there, the waiting room is bright and open, the staff are all extremely nice and compassionate, and even if you have really bad dental issues they give you a clear plan for fixing all of it. All you gotta do is show up and take a seat, and of course settle the bill at the end, but hey that’s what dental insurance is for!
They have different specialists on staff as well, they can do pretty much anything.
Make sure you get an appointment early, because they are sometimes booked a few weeks out for certain procedures.
Best of all, you get to watch Netflix FOR FREE and you get these awesome goggles while these awesome people fix up your smile. Also you can tell they invest in equipment as everything is new and modern.
Best dentist I’ve ever been to, hands down.

Dr. Aguil and his team are exceptional! I was referred to Dr Aguil by several of my friends who visit him for their dental needs. His office is state-​of-​the-​art and just gorgeous and outshines all of the dental offices I have been to before. I received quality care and each service and expense was reviewed and explained to me. Since my initial emergency visit, I have been back for cleaning and Zoom whitening and my smile has never looked brighter! You will not be disappointed with Exquisite Dentistry!

AMAZING!!! From the minute you enter and meet the staff to a dentist who actually makes you want to go get your yearly check ups!!! I have all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out at the same time. The staff was able to take care of all my insurance needs before I got there so I would know exactly what my out of pocket would be. Doctor aguil is talented when it comes to his dentistry skills but also he has the best bed side manner ever for a dentist! He makes me laugh and definitely makes things less painful. I barely had any swelling and overall it was such a fun experience that I wish I had more wisdom teeth that needed removal. Haha. It’s also nice that they’re open on Saturdays. I love him and his staff. Truly a diamond in the rough.

Dr Aguil is truly a gem. Very caring, and I have never felt a bit of pain any time I have been there. Very compassionate and truly is on your side. I have been to many dentists in my lifetime, and I can honestly say, he is by far the best one I have ever been to. Also, the staff is a treat every time. The impeccable cleanliness and aromatherapy in the office, really makes you want to come back again and again… Did I mention Netflix? Every chair has a TV for your viewing pleasure… I could go on and on. Thank you Exquisite Dentistry…

My daughter and I had our appointments with Exquisite Dentistry a few weeks ago and it was great… even fun. The exam was thorough, the information presented very detailed and the entire staff seemed very caring.
Other reviews that talk about the VIP treatment aren’t exaggerating. They have a Netflix subscription and TVs over each seat — the actually tracked down the episode of Dexter I was watching and even fast forwarded to the exact point for me. They also give you noise canceling head phones when you are watching.
Now — I know that shouldn’t be what you base your entire dental visit on, but everything else was so good — this was some great icing on a great cake.

Unfortunately, I had to switch dentists due to my employers switching to a new insurance. Sorry Dr. Cheung. You and your staff is the best.
I was referred here by two colleagues from work and I was super duper hesitant because Dentists in LA are like used car Sales men. One dentist told me I needed 3 teeth extracted and another one said that I need all sorts of treatment that I think I didn’t need. Anyway…
— Parking is not free or validated: there is a lot next to the office you can pay, or do what I did, park in the meter and feed the meter every hour (Yvette was kind enough to do this for me in the middle of getting my teeth cleaned).
— The office is immaculate which is adorned with beautiful artwork and smells like a spa.
— The dentists uses state of the art technology from being able to watch netflix to the cameras they use to show you what the inside of your mouth looks like.
It was deemed that I needed a root canal and Dr. Alex explained everything thoroughly and accurately. Rather than inundate me with too much information, he gave me bite size portions of my treatment plan. More importantly, I wasn’t able to pay for the whole treatment in one lump sum. The office was able to work out a payment plan with me, but I do miss the payment plans Dr. Cheung offered.
As of now. Dr. Cheung will always be my favorite. I will update my review as my treatment progresses.

I must say, this is probably the best dentist experience I have ever had in my life.
Not to mention the very VIP treatment (Free coffee & tea, blanket, Netflix during the treatment, warm herb scented towel after the treatment etc…) The staff are all kind and extremely welcoming.
Dr. Aguil is the sweetest person I have ever met!
What I truly appreciated was the level of communication. I was explained what I needed and exactly why I needed it in the way I could understand.
They use camera and photos of your teeth to show& explain to you throughly.
Some dentists I used to go to lacked in communication and I was not even sure what was wrong with my teeth or why I needed what I was getting because they did not speak to me in the «language» I could understand.
But here, they make sure first you understand everything and why it is necessary. You get the best treatment and the communication, plus the «coming to America» type of VIP treatment!

For maybe 6 years or so I had put off going to the dentist due to my extreme gag reflex and just an overall general hatred of going. If it had not been for Dr. Aguil and his awesome staff, I would have waited another 6 years to get work done that I desperately needed.
Dr. Aguil and his staff went above and beyond to make sure I was as comfortable as possible, and they were patient enough to put up with me as they filled all 8 of my cavities, and a full round of x-​rays + cleaning. To say the least, Dr. Aguil and his staff are the most kind and professional team I have come across in my many years of making dentists hate me. Thanks again, Dr. Aguil!
