my husband brought our 9 year old son here yesterday. he has extremely curly hair. I know of the horrors of a hairstylist that can’t cut curly hair so thanks to Unilocal,I found this place. they were kind and welcoming and gave him the best haircut and also gave him his first lesson on managing his beautiful locks. I am so happy and so is he. they have a life long or at least a childhood long customer and… they have great prices!

Do not go to this salon. It’s dirty, overpriced, and the work is of poor quality. The owner also has a bad attitude and doesn’t monitor the work of the hairstylists. If I could give it no stars I would. Also, most of the positive reviews on here are for a hair dresser that no longer works there.

Wonderful stylists!!! I always get my hair well taken care of in any style I like! Cheryl will do EXACTLY what you want with your hair… I will never go anywhere else! She has brought my hair back to life, pressed it curled it, put it in up do’s, added pieces… everything! And everything has been great!

I asked for his expertise in a permanent style. I even demonstrated what I wanted by putting some of my own dreadlocks in. He did his own thang… and then when I wasn’t satisfied he said he «would make it right»… and then he blocked my calls and didn’t make it right at all!!. I spent $ 400.00 hard earned money and over 25 miles of travel and countless hours of grief having to remove all the dreads he put in and I still don’t have dreads in my hair. I can’t go back to DK Hair Designs and I won’t be referring anyone there and wherever he hopes to open up on his own– I will have to discourage people from patronizing his business.
I’m thoroughly upset by his refusal to be professional or «craft his work» to accommodate the CLIENT.
The people on this site who believe he is great– haven’t really been around Los Angeles long enough to really judge… I have… I’m a NATIVE and I’ve been doing braids professionally and independently for over 20 years. I stopped doing braids to pursue another field… but I KNOW GOOD WORK and TALENT— SADOU DOES’NT HAVE IT!
Sadou if you are reading this— I gave you an opportunity to make good on your promise to really do a good job… you chose to ignore me.
You are not honorable. People don’t continually pay for things they did’nt ask for– your clients will start to realize that… and will stop coming to you.

I have been a client at DK’s for 14 years and have always loved it. All of the stylists and assistants are warm, welcoming, and very talented. I continuously recommend the salon to everyone who asks me why my hair looks so good. My stylist is Cheryl, but I have worked with nearly everyone at the salon. I highly recommend DK’s Hair Design.

Dk’s Hair Designs is by far the best salon I’ve gone to to tighten my locks! They instantly made me feel like family! Everyone there is hilarious, the prices are wonderful!!! They definitely deserve to be the top hair salon in California! It’s like Six Flags, there are only a few of them in this country, I feel there are only a few hair salons that can match Dk’s in this world! Thank you Kelly!!!

I went in got a full head (usually only partials) weave for the first time and I loved the results. Treated like a queen and didn’t break the bank! Thanks Cheryl for hooking a sista up. Although, I worked primarily with Cheryl all the other stylists had amazing results as well.

This salon is the best one that I have seen in a long time. When you arrive you see a clean and professionally kept shop. The staff is one that I would recommend to anyone who ask. I am new to the area and relied on reviews on Unilocal to find a place to get braids, twist, dreds or any type of style I desired. My stylist was «Noonie» she was and is the best. I came in with natural hair, she twisted my hair in ample time to make my interview later on that afternoon. I looked professional and got the job. Many thanks to a great salon!

DK’s Hair Designs is the BEST thing that’s ever happened to my hair! Actually Sadou is!!! And just like most people who’ve written their reviews, I went to see him based on the reviews I’d read, no other ‘hair place’ had 5 stars! And true to the word, he is every bit as awesome as the reviews state! Actually, everyone in the salon is great! Sadou breathed life into my locks :) and I LOVE going to see him, some stylists don’t want to tell you what they use in your hair but he goes as far as suggesting the right concoction of oils and what-​not that you can mix yourself and use in your hair to keep it looking awesome and healthy! Not only is he great with hair, he is very friendly and fun to talk the minutes/​hours away with while you sit in his chair, my visits always seem shorter than they actually are.
If you are searching for a GREAT hair guy, search no more! Sadou is ‘the man’!

Had my hair dreads done here best experience I’ve had getting my hair done yet. He’s fast a professional well worth the money I would recommend anyone that needs to look fresh to go in

4 words… Sadou is that dude!!! Let’s me translate that for you incase you don’t get my drift. Sadou is the MAN!!!
Now I’m 24 year old and I just recently decided to get my hair dreaded. I’ve had braids for 10+ years of my life and I felt like it was time for a change. So I did research (using Unilocal of course) for different hair salons that does dreads. I was able to find plenty of hair salons but all of them seemed to have a few bad reviews. All except DK’s Hair Designs. The reviewers for DK’s Hair Designs all seemed to speak highly about one person, Sadou. So I decided to checkout DK’s Hair Designs. I mean why not right? Others seemed to like it…
Growing up I always would get my hair braided by my Mom, and for the last 5 years of my life I’ve had a female friend come braid my hair. So I don’t have any hair salons experience, cause I never had the need to go to one. So I didn’t know what to expect with DK’s Hair Designs. So when I went I can use 1 word to describe it… DOPE!!! Let me translate that for you incase you don’t get my drift. INCREDIBLE!!! From the moment I walked into DK’s Hair Designs I felt comfortable and at home. The hair stylist that was working there were all friendly and warm. The moment I met Sadou I could tell why so many people spoke highly of him in there reviews. He was a very cool dude. Very friendly and very open to talk about my hair and what I was to planning to have done to it. Again my goal was to get my hair dreaded, and I wasn’t sure if that was possible due to me having braids for the past 10+ years of my life and having different chemicals put into my hair. Sadou clearly explained to me the different options I had for beginning my journey of having dreads. Now I’m going to go into detail because I’m not a hair-​ologist like Sadou (I say this because the man knew what he was talking about) and I’m sure I may give some wrong information. So he explained to me the different options I have and was more than willing to explain to me the different steps that would need to be taken. So hanging around for a while and getting a feel for the place, for Sadou, and for what steps would need to be taken to begin my journey, I scheduled an appointment and was on my way…
So let me get to the point of this review. Sadou hooked my hair up. Let’s me translate that for you incase you don’t get my drift. Sadou did an EXQUISITE job. Hahaha… I would highly recommend him to any and everybody. Sadou fixed my hair the exact way I pictured it looking. So if are planning to get dreads, already have dreads, need to get your dreads refreshed, whatever the case may be go to DK’s Hair Designs and see Sadou. I’m telling you right now, that brotha knows what he’s doing. I mean he himself has dreads and one thing he told me that I totally agree on is, if your going to have somebody take care of your dreads it should be somebody who actually has them. That makes all the sense in the world to me…

Great service! Clean! I go to Sadou once a week to get a wash/​condition/​style! He understands my hair and doesn’t over process it!

I LOVE this salon! From the moment I walked in everyone was very personable and introducing themselves. I’d made a 1:00pm appointment with Sadou but arrived earlier around 11:30. I was so glad he was there and able to start me immediately! I have very thick, natural hair and was trusting him with my first sew in. They deep conditioned me, trimmed my ends and LAID MY HAIR OUT! I absolutely love the the style I left with. Sadou is an amazing stylist with a warm personality and is one of the fastest braiders I’ve seen. I’m definitely going back.

I have been going to this shop for about 5 years. I only go to Sadou which is a master in weaves, dreads, press n curls… You name it he is amazing at it. I have recommended several friends to him and I get complements on my hair all the time. Sadou is the best. Gotta go to him! :)

I have been coming to Sadou for years and we have experienced every possible hairstyle together. He does what he wants and I love it! Right now I am rocking locs and LOVE them. Sadou is the only stylist I trust in my head and I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing my hair. If you need a stylist and are okay with traveling to LA, you have to look Sadou up! He can do it all and YOU will leave his chair looking fabulous!

I can honestly say that Sadou is the most talented stylist. He has a diverse group of clients and therefore can do fabulous hair on everyone from a 6 year old girl, to an 80 year old woman. If you are looking for someone to give you a fly short cut… look no further… and maybe you’re just in need of a flat iron that will withstand the elements or maybe you want color… he’s your man or maybe (like me) you LOVE weaves… he’s definately the ONE (small braids, the flatest weave pattern, no bumps, full hair)…he does natural hair styles as well.
I live in the San Francisco area now and have experienced other stylist but after having AWFUL weaves done by trying someone new… I just keep flying down to LA because Sadou is irreplaceable. I have referred about 10 people and their lives have been changed (seriously). He’s a master at what he does and genuinely cares for his clients. If you make an appointment… You will not be disappointed!

This is seriously a one stop shop for all of your hair needs! I recently set up an appt with Nuni after being disasppointed by unprofessional braiders in the area who either flake, are overpriced, or simply do not care about repeat business. She is very welcoming, professional, and fairly priced. So if you are looking to get your braids, dreads, or any other style done make sure you stop here and give them a try.

I’ve been coming here from the valley for almost 7 years because Sadou is the only stylist I want touching my dreadlocks. The staff and clientele are all very friendly.

I’ve been going to DK’s Hair Designs for several years. I absolutely love this place. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They always manage to put the client’s needs and best interest first. Sadou is the Stylist that I work with. He is always punctual and does a fantastic job on my dreadlocks and lining. I prefer a lining with the razor and to be honest, most barbers can not even do it. It takes skills to perform that task. I always receive compliments from others after I leave the salon. I highly recommend DK’s Hair Designs to anyone in the LA Area seeking a good Hair Stylist. Ask for Sadou. He will take care of you!
