Care Patrol

Chris Jenkins was «the wind beneath my wings» during a time when no one in the industry that is supposed to support seniors was capable nor willing to – not hospitals, not convalescent homes, not hospice agencies. The lack of compassion is something I find incomprehensible. I had the unpleasant experience of dealing with a well-​known agency six months prior to finding Care Patrol in looking for an assisted living facility for my 92-​year old father. They basically e-​mailed me a list of places (that they never researched) and set me off to a list of appointments that wound up being a depressing wild goose chase. One place was worse than the next. They were supposed to have known my price range for what my dad could afford and ironically had nothing available once I got there. I finally decided (out of desperation) to move him to a place on Ventura Blvd. in Woodland Hills and it is one of the worst regrets of my life. After not trusting nor wanting him to go back there after a long hospital stay, I was referred by a long-​time patient of my husband’s who is in the skilled nursing field, to Zach Jenkins of CarePatrol who was a classic gentleman from the first phone call. He promptly set up appointments at a few different facilities and not only met me at each one, but stayed there the entire time to ensure I received all the information I needed – he had the patience of a saint. We chose a place in Chatsworth and my dad was scheduled to move in after his hospital stay. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse and he required skilled nursing care at a convalescent home before he could move in. This move never transpired, as we lost him a few weeks later. It was one of the most stressful and disconcerting times imaginable. Chris Jenkins was there for me on a daily basis helping me to deal with so many of the issues that arose during this time – too many of them to mention. She went beyond the call of duty… always answering phone calls, texts and e-​mails immediately (some even after hours) with a calm and positive response. She is a class act and someone whom I was very lucky to have in my life when I needed a comforting shoulder. Her type of character is very rare and few and far between in this industry. She is a gem and I very highly recommend Care Patrol to anyone looking for a trusting, genuine, professional mentor to assist them in making this very agonizing decision of choosing a loving home for their family member.

I was helping a friend find a place for his mom to live to because the assisted living place where she was living said she would do better in a smaller place where there were less people.
I was referred to Christine Jenkins at Assisted Transitions. I called her and she answered the phone. That was amazing in itself as places I had called previously when helping to place another person never seemed to have a live person to answer the phone! Chris was efficient, caring, and asked a lot of questions so that she could find a good fit for my friend’s mom. It was a difficult case, I am sure, because the budget was small and the mom needed a lot of care.
The next day she had two places for me to see. She had listened to what I had told her and the first place I saw was the perfect one. She didn’t send me to see places that were too expensive or not appropriate. I put my friend’s family in touch with Chris and they plan to move my friend soon to the place that Chris found.
She really was good at listening and matching me up with the right place. My friend’s family and I were very happy with our experience at this difficult time.

Chris had stopped by their office to let them know about her services just as I was looking for a Senior Living community for my 92 year old mother. The whole process was fast, effecient and done with such compassion and care. If I had more than one mother I would use her again and again.

Assisted Transition is the most amazing family senior placement team. My Mom was in urgent need of a safe and loving memory care unit upon her discharge from the hospital. Assisted Transition are like angels on earth. Les answered the phone, with a warm English accent. He transferred me to his wife Chris after hearing what we were seeking for Mom. Chris was that loving voice on the other side of the phone, where you knew everything was going to be OK. This was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, they emotionally hold your hand every step of the way. They really hear what you are seeking for your family member. Then, they picked these lovely places. The first thing I noticed was that all of the places were clean and fresh, a happy surprise! The people were warm and welcoming. We fell in love with one patient that we thought would be Mom’s new best friend. Again, Chris called each day to see if I was OK, God Bless her. Then her son, Zach took us to the places. He had that same caring manner. He could see when my son and I needed to breathe, and had the compassion to help us through those fears. They found the most beautiful place I’d seen, inside and out. I loved the patients and staff, the grounds and rooms. Even the activity director is amazing. When I arrived, after sleeping at the hospital for about a week with Mom, I felt this wonderful sense of calm. This was the place, Pacifica in Northridge. Again, Chris and Zach continued to offer support and were there in person as well as by phone and email. Their family is like a warm hug, taking you through this experience with loving hands and soothing words. My Mom is literally thriving there. She has adjustments to make, but loves the people there, and has been making friends, and loves the activities. My eternal thanks and prayers go to Assisted Transition. They go beyond what you could imagine, making sure to find the place that best suits your loved one, and finances. Kaiser worked with them hand in hand, which also made our lives easier. I give my highest praise to the Jenkins Family, they offer the highest level of service from the heart. You will never meet a more devoted family in serving the needs of our most precious parents. I wholeheartedly recommend Assisted Transition for finding a safe and loving place for your parent when that time may present itself. God Bless them for their dedication and service with a heart.
