Atticus Creamery & Pies

Truly fantastic ice cream with very creative flavors. I had the number one bestseller… The honeycomb ice cream. I completely understand why it does so well. But incredibly rich person flavor from actual honeycomb. The other flavors were outstanding as well. I can highly recommend the champagne sorbets. This is a fantastic place for both kids and adults. I took my three-​year-​old and one-​year-​old and rarely do I order ice cream at the same time, but this time I was compelled to! The service was also exceptional. The folks working there were nice and make sure that I sampled every flavor before picking the right ones. Be sure to take advantage of the Unilocal check in as well.

Quick delivery and great service. Everything I tried was good, but here are my most to least favorite:
1. Nutella Ferrero ice cream
2. Oreo cookies and cream mini pie
3. Mango mini pie
4. Salted caramel mini pie (too salty)

We tried a couple of ice cream flavors including: brown sugar apple pie, lemon lavender, sweet corn, and milk & cereal. The milk & cereal was good but standard. The sweet corn was a tad too sweet, and the lemon lavender was overwhelmingly lavender. We decided on a scoop of brown sugar apple pie, which tasted exactly like it’s namesake with chunks of apple. It’s a little pricey for $ 4, and I think I’ll opt for Saffron Rose or Sweet Rose Creamery next time. The flavors are better balanced and it’s cheaper (in the case of Saffron Rose).
In general, the ice cream and pies we sampled seem a little on the sweeter side. Our scoop was hard to finish even between the two of us because it was so sweet. So I might recommend going elsewhere unless you have a major sweet tooth or you want to share with a friend and eat just a couple of bites.
Service:
The staff seems pretty nice, and they’re generous about their samples. Pie and ice cream samples are offered.
Ambiance:
It’s a cute little store next to Westside Pavilion. It’s a good place to grab dessert with friends if you’re headed to the mall to shop or to watch a movie at the Landmark. However, there’s only a few small tables so be aware of the seating limitations!

For all you ice cream lovers who want a change, try pie… specifically Atticus Pies.
I never thought I would enjoy pies so much, but Atticus has seriously changed my mind and my stomach. My personal favorite is the Earl Grey pie, but they let you sample all the pies so choose wisely.
You also have the the options of getting ice cream so quite literally get the best of both worlds (thanks Miley).
Tip: Check in on Unilocal because you can also get free cookies. which means, ICE CREAM SANDWICHES!

Another pie place we happened to visit in the last week. We originally tried going to Magnolia but the street parking was impossible and there really are no parking lots around. I guess you could park at the Beverly Center and walk a few blocks but given the cold rainy weather that wasn’t really an option.
There is a small parking lot with about 5 – 6 spaces and we were lucky to find one spot. Upon coming in they have a refrigerator display with all the pies and a paper menu with the ice cream flavors for the day. What’s really nice here is they offer little samples of every pie and they have a huge tray by the register where you could ask for numerous samples before choosing. We chose the Earl Grey pie. Unlike Pie Hole, you get a whole round pie. Its about the size of a large coffee mug in diameter. Flavor was amazing and it was creamy, but didn’t really have an overly sweet taste to it. There are a few tables inside and a few tables outside in a makeshift patio area.
Price isn’t as steep as The Pie Hole and I would personally choose this place. However, being in 2 completely different neighborhoods, you really can’t go wrong with either place. They do have one of those iPad cash registers which has its pros and cons. You almost feel compelled to leave a tip even though there isn’t really any service provided here except for taking your order. Anyway, I would definitely go back and try a few other pies and some iced cream.

They serve one of the best ice cream I have had. Favorite flavor is the cereal and milk. This place is just really good and definitely a must try for a foodie. The pies are good too but the ice cream is phenomenal. Will definitely come back!

I have a new fave dessert place! I had all but given up on pie since the flavors I found were almost always lame, and I’m not much of a fan of cooked fruit.
This strawberry pistachio pie was amazing. Creamy yet light, the crust was perfect in texture and buttery-​ness, and the combination of flavors were perfect. I also love the fact they’re little personal pies versus slices. Great satisfaction for a sweet tooth and a smile :)

Tried the pie here, it was decent, I keep hearing that it’s like pie hole which… it isn’t because pie hole is a lot better IMO. Prices are fair, service is okay. very limited seating though. Maybe their ice creams are better? Pie was average at best, it was really cold coming from the fridge, crust was very hard and cold.

Omg Atticus ILY :-) Seriously I want you, I crave you, I desire you, I need you. Culinary nirvana in your mouth. Just stupid good…
Honeycomb, Apple pie brown sugar and Salted Caramel ice cream wow just wow… Reese’s peanut butter chocolate, Oreo and pistachio pie! Hold on I need a moment to compose myself, my palate and my desires to live at Atticus in fact I want my mail delivered there.
Are you kidding me. Atticus is addicting and soooo not fair. Leaving the Grove we were beckoned by a higher power and suduced by the promise of sultry flavors, sexy combinations and perfectly crafted gastronomic delight that tantalize’s the tastbuds and creates a feeling of blissful sugar nirvana.
Whoever is the expert sugar mixologist and flavor genius behind Atticus should be bronzed. I want you to come hang out at my house use me, abuse me have your way with me just as long as you feed me your creations slather me up I’m all in. Lol

Honeycomb ice cream. Apple pie ice cream !!! Salted caramel mousse pie!!!

I came here on Thanksgiving Eve. I was hoping that they had a pie with finch in it, not because I want to eat a pie with a bird in it — because I don’t — but because, you know, Atticus Finch Pie would just be too weird to not buy.
It would sell like hot cakes. Or hot pies. Actually, cold pies. No one wants a hot pie. As far as I know, no one really lines up to buy hot cakes either. What a crappy phrase. It would sell like Boo Radley cakes. Yeah, that’s better.
Oh hey. The girl who was working here was really nice to us. I think I had three pie samples. That’s three more than I got when I went to the other pie store and looked at the pie section. Don’t ask for more details because I ain’t got none.

Atticus Pies made me really happy on a really unfortunate night.
The service and little location just makes you want to smile. On top of that the options for pies almost make choices too hard because you want multiple. Lucily there are samples plenty of both ice cream and pies.
The ice cream flavors are super unique which is fun. The honey is crazy good, but so is the apple pie and cereal. The pies and cheesecake additionally are delicious. My favorite was the blackberry cheesecake.
I will be coming back and bringing friends for sure.

We stopped into Atticus randomly after a movie across the street and Thai diner next door. They bombarded us with generous samples of all their amazingly flavored ice creams. I loved everything. We took home two scoops (in pint containers) or the Brownie a la Mode and the Strawberry Sorbet, which was so rich, you wouldn’t know it was sorbet.
The gals in the shop were so nice and the freebie cookie with a Unilocal check-​in was an additional fab perk!

I’m not completely sure how I feel about this place because the people that work here are really nice and they also offer a lot of cool deals. For instance, we got buy one get one free scoop of ice cream and free cookie through Unilocal!My friend and I had ordered the following:
— Hazelnut Ferrero Rocher ice cream
— Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana ice cream
— Strawberry Pistachio Pie (pies here are airy and I prefer denser pies)
Everything we had ordered was good, including the free chocolate chip cookies, and they also offer a lot of samples, so I got to try the earl grey pie. However, I can’t help but compare the pies and ice cream to other places that I have been to in LA. I think its a matter of preference, and for some it may be delicious as they do offer a lot of unique flavors, but it was just okay to me!

LOOOOOOOOOVE at first bite.
I stumbled into Atticus after an immensely successful happy hour with Sarah B down the street. The promise of free pie samples brought us in, but we were not prepared for plethora of ice cream and pie flavors before us. We sampled almost everything and I was on a sugar high by the time I bought several pints of ice cream to go. My absolute favorites were the honey, lavender and milk and cereal. Other stand out flavors are nutella and coffee. Their coffee ice cream is the boldest I’ve ever tasted. I’ve given serious thought to subbing coffee ice cream for my usual morning coffee.
The pies are so fresh. I love they come in individual servings, but they are definitely big enough to split. Banana and earl grey are my favorites, though they have other great cream selections as well.
Service is awesome! And if you come during off hours, be prepared for some serious ice cream sampling. I love the freshness and purity of all the flavors. You can tell they use natural and high quality ingredients. I love to buy ice cream by the pint (about $ 9) and enjoy it in the comfort of my pajamas, but they also have lots of cup and cone options.
Parking sucks, but the Westside Pavilion across the street has 3 hours free parking, or you may get lucky with a meter.

Came here tonight for a spontaneous dessert run. We came here around 9:40, right before they close at 10pm. Since it was veteran’s day, they had a BOGO deal for their ice cream. Because we had arrived so close to their closing time, they had already run out of some of their pie flavors and ice cream. We ended up getting 1 scoop of sweet corn and brown sugar apple pie ice cream for $ 4 both after the BOGO deal. Both were good, but the sweet corn seemed more interesting. I liked how the flavors were not overwhelmingly sweet or heavy– they were both light and refreshing.
As for the pies, we ended up getting earl grey and blueberry cheesecake flavors. The earl grey tasted a lot fresher for some reason, especially the crust. Not sure if it’s because we came late, but the blueberry one had gotten a little stale. They’re not cheap at a little more than $ 5 each, but they were yummy and worth it to try. The earl grey was not too sweet either, which I liked.
This may not be my favorite dessert place, but I’d come here again if I am in the area and craving some pie or ice cream.
One last note… Be careful about street parking and make sure to read the signs! My friend had gotten a parking ticket tonight because he didn’t realize you couldn’t park in the residential area without a permit after 6pm. So make sure you read the signs!

What a CUTE place! First of all when we walked in, the female employee gladly welcomed us and gave us so many samples of virtually everything without even us asking! We were so full from lunch that it didn’t make sense to get so much stuff, but everything had a unique and delightful taste!
We spent so much time figuring out what to get and how to maximize our value there because we also saw a groupon (if you can be frugal, why not… says nobody in SoCal). It was a warm day, so we went for ice cream and what a good choice! The scoops were huge and we got refreshing raspberry and a sweet corn flavor. Yeah, that’s right, I said sweet corn. It really does taste like the sweet cream corn you get at a barbecue place but in a comforting and cooling way.
I definitely want to try this place out again for he pies. Our samples of things like Oreo and lavender lemon pies were delightful. And their unique ice cream flavors were really intriguing too. If you have a sweet tooth, this place should be a stop!

A gem on Pico near the Westwide Pavilion, Atticus’s is a great place to satiate those dessert cravings.
I had never heard about this place till I was invited here for a Unilocal event, so I had the pleasure of trying every single flavor of their pies and ice cream. Every. Single. One.
Let’s break it down. My favorite ice cream had to be the Milk & Cereal and my favorite sorbet, the Raspberry Champagne. Never again will you have to be embarrassed about wanting cereal for dessert! They actually put frosted flakes into the ice cream, which really makes every bite bring you back to the morning. Time travel at its best, folks. The raspberry champagne is nice and light. The champagne flavor is very subtle and hits you in the aftertaste. Just really try to savor every single bite, and you’ll definitely appreciate the subtleties of this sorbet. It was especially refreshing after I had finished my scoop of Milk & Cereal.
Their other flavors range from York Peppermint to Sweet Corn to Honey Honeycomb. Definitely a lot of interesting flavors to try and sample. I had a hard time deciding which ones to get even after sampling every single flavor.
Moving on to the pies, they are just bites of joy. I only had the chance to sample a bit of every flavor from their salted caramel to lemon meringue, but they did not disappoint. I’m not much of a pie person, but I found the cream to be light and yet have some substance, and the crust was nice and sturdy and yet blended well with the filling. Took a salted caramel to go as well.
Definitely a place to hit if you are in the area, such as after shopping in the Westside Pavillion. We ended up parking there (free 3 hour parking) and the walk over only took 5 minutes!

Tart and Delicious. This pie is extremely tart and sweet at the same time. A simple crust allows a complete enjoyment of the lemon cream. The berry atop the pie seals the deal for a completely flavorful dessert. The lavender went very well. I am a fan!!!

Great selection of different ice creams. I didn’t really care for any of them. There was not a flavor that stood out for me. That being said, I did come here fpr pie.
The shop sells a variety of different personal pies and they even have samples of a few of them.
~Parking-​Street parking at the meters can get hard.
Overall, I am almost fan of the pie.

I heard Atticus Creamery & Pies had a killer earl grey pie thru many folks. It’s real hard to beat the version from The Pie Hole. Really, really hard to beat. The pies here are personalized pies with filling poured in each crust. There’s quite a bit flavors to choose from that change periodically: coconut banana, salted caramel, lemon lavender, blueberry, early grey. Atticus also has ice cream as well with flavors ranging from blackberry coconut, chai chocolate, honeycomb, Nuttela Ferrero Rocher. The ice cream here is just okay. We tried the York Peppermint which was good.
Back to the pies, the earl grey pie here is good at best. The filling is good but didn’t care for the crust. For $ 5.25, it’s not bad but didn’t think it was great. Atticus also has specialty pies for a $ 5.65 mostly cheesecake type cakes.
The folks here are nice and friendly. Samples of both ice cream and tastings of pies are ample.
