Disappointed to learn that they have closed their business since October because we have always enjoyed their variety of cakes especially the pear mousse, chocolate mousse, and layered Summit cakes which were my favorites.

closed! Sad no more choc mousse cake. Ended up buying the cream puffs today. Service rather slow and the manager not too friendly!

Yet another neighborhood spot the seemingly has been around forever, this is now a mousse fantasy — beard papa hybrid. I still stick to the stuff on the Mousse fantasy side — delicate Japanese French style cakes and crispy cookies. My favorites are the chocolate mousse cake and strawberry shortcake. My sister loves the pear cake. They are also well known for their cheesecakes. I drop in here to pick up a slice or two everytime I’m in town and it always taste the same — simple and delicious.

Not fresh. Whipped cream on top of my cake was hard. Everything taste old here.

Small cake store, sharing the space with beard papa’s. It’s about $ 4 for each piece of cake. Tried their tiramisu cup and raspberry mousse, pretty good as desserts.

I love the different versions of cream puffs that they have there on different days. My favorite is Friday! Come on Friday to get a surprise!

The crème brulé was dry, old and overpowered by sugar alternatives. The tiramisu had a half inch layer of chocolate powder that got stuck on my palette. and the cheesecake. thick and dry. I don’t understand how it was so dry :( But the service was nice, hence the one star probably not coming back

They share store space with Beard Papa, and I can only imagine how much business Beard Papa must take from them! I wanted to get some desserts as a special treat for dinner last Thursday night, so I came here and picked up two slices of cake. They are pricier than the average bakery, and I go to tons of bakeries so I ought to know. $ 4 a slice. Usually there’s like 2 – 3 something, but this is WestLA, I ought to be used to being slightly ripped off by now. I got the pear mousse and the strawberry shortcake. After a chirashi dinner, which I prepared myself, *pat on back*, we had our cake! The pear mousse was good, and worth the $ 4IMO. The strawberry shortcake though, fell terribly short. The cake was dry and the proportion of cream to cake was off. I’ve had much better strawberry cakes. As far as whole cakes go, they’re a little cheaper than Cake House across the street, but I would still rather go to Cake House, I think. This was ok, but with far better options in the area, I wouldn’t bother.

This little bakery is connected to Beard Papa’s, located in the same store. They’ve got a pretty good selection of cakes and desserts. I’ve tried the strawberry mousse and chocolate cakes, which are both pretty tasty. If you’re a huge chocolate lover, you’d love the chocolate. I also liked the green tea mousse from how it looked, but heard it wasn’t as good as it looked. Eitherway, I love how you can come here and still get urself some beard papa’s crème puffs and coffee all at the same time! It’s like a 3 in 1!

Pretty, nicely decorated, delicate cakes and desserts. Good for private dinner dessert cakes, not for larger events. Tried the chocolate cake though it was good, it was not quite a chocolate flavored cake. Light cake, not an overly sugar overdose. Good place to stop for quick sweet and coffee break. They don’t have cream pitchers, just the little sealed cups of half and half. Saw only a young staff of two, keeping quite busy with the baking, taking orders, making coffee. Same business location as Beard Papa’s, run by the same people. East side of the street, validated parking for one hour. 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 stars for the freshness, light hand, and presentation of the desserts.

I bought a slice that was layered with strawberry gel between the sponge. I like the packaging it came in, which made sure the cake slice wouldn’t tip over and included a handle. I think I chose that cake flavor because I was with someone who liked that fruit but that was all the cash I had that day. I’d come back to try other kinds of cake. I was surprised they were a café that served savory food because I thought I was strictly walking into a bakery.

Whoa… I was going to get Beard Papa cream puffs for a Christmas Eve dessert for a few friends, but then I saw the amazingly cute Christmas Cakes. Decorated with little shiny foil wrapped presents, a sugar Santa Claus, a sugar Snowman, plastic trees, and a faux foam gingerbread house. It was pricey, but the cakes were delicious. I spent $ 28 on the cake duet — one side was chocolate and the other side was strawberry sponge cake. My friends loved the decorations on the cake — they even took photos. I love Asian style cakes for the same reasons that Jenn S mentioned. Lighter spongy cake — lighter whipped cream frosting — good use of fresh fruit. Sigh. Heaven. I can’t wait to come back and try the Marron Cake. I love chestnuts. You can come here for a personal treat — they have single slices for $ 3 – 6. Or to impress your friends like I did and buy a whole cake.

Despite the fruity name and the fact they share a shop with a really crummy Beard Papa, this place delivers on the delicious JP style Strawberry Shortcake. I was kinda puzzled as to why the 6″ Christmas strawberry cake was $ 40 and one big slice of strawberry short was $ 4. There is no way that that little cake makes 10 slices of that cake. In anycase, delicious and made me totally homesick for Japan(shut up, I know). The strawberries looked a little old and they were doing decorating out in the front, so it wasn’t a perfect experience. The cute girl behind the counter actually spoke Japanese to me as well, so that is mega bonus points. Definitely will be back!

The cream puffs from Mousse Fantasy, in conjunction with Beard Papa are delicious. I have never ever been anywhere else than this place to find real good cream puffs. It’s definitely worth a try!

Strawberry Shortcake is like every other typical Asian cake. The Snow Summit was great! Chocolate cake layered with different fruits! And I liked the light and fluffy taste of the cheesecake. So the desserts on top are Asian-style and the desserts on the bottom are American-style. I definitely always prefer the Asian-style because it’s lighter.

best cake ever! I found this place when waiting for my friend’s puff. This is the lightest, cleanest taste cake we ever had! My roomates, their family and I are all addicted to this place.
