Business Owner

My name is Kendal Sager, and I’ve been a backyard beekeeper since 2011. I keep a small number of beehives in my hometown of Los Altos, where I was born and raised. I love sharing all sorts of information about honeybees through classes, talks, demonstrations and workshop. I teach classes locally including childrens classes, beginning beekeeping, and how to make your own beauty products from beeswax and honey.

I bought several jars of raw honey, creamed honey, and a bunch of lip balms from Kendal’s Bees and I LOVE all of it!
I never had creamed honey before, and I love that it is spreadable. The raw honey is also a bit more on the spreadable side, which I love. The flavor of the honey is so delicious — it has become my go-to snack!
I normally don’t love flavored lip balms because I feel they can taste fake, but this is definitely not the case for Kendal’s Bees lip balms — the flavors are fantastic and subtle! I gave one of the lip balms to my brother who normally only buys Burt’s Bees lip balms and he prefers Kendal’s Bees lip balms.

I teach in a Pre-K class and we were lucky to get a visit from Kendal recently, during «B» week :) She was warm, patient and enthusiastic with the kids, on top of being very knowledgable and giving us educational information on what it’s like to keep bees. Kendal brought a ton of materials and tools to show the class, so the kids got some hands-on activity. As a teacher, I loved how Kendal adapted her presentation to be age appropriate for our eager and fidgety 4 – 5 year olds. She incorporated movement and dance and they were engaged for the entire time. And they loved getting to taste her bees’ honey. It was such a treat to have her come and talk to our class and I would definitely recommend her for a school visit!
