Old, nasty, dark, buggy, buffet critically under health department regulations. Tasted like it all came from M.R.E.‘s. Vile food, zero service, plenty of parking!

Would give this place a zero. Poor customer service! Worse hot and sour soup ever. Think dark and only had carrots in it and tasted awful! Asked to exchange and she said I am still charging you for the soup plus the other you pick! Has a foul odor to restaurant! Avoid this place!

Ordered orange chicken, still not sure what I brought home. Fried rice was bland and colorless. At least the egg rolls and crab rangoons were good. Still hungry, won’t be back. Very disappointed based on other reviews.

Best Chinese food in Longview! I love the chicken fried rice and crab rangoon. The service is great too! The building in which it is located is not much to look at, but this place has been up and operating longer than most of these franchise Chinese food places could ever dream of. They are also fairly priced and the food is 100% better than any Chinese franchise restaurant crap. You want the best, then come here! You want a modernized setting with greasy over priced food, than carry your butt to panda express.

The place looks a bit sketchy on the outside but this is the best Chinese food that Iv tried in Longview. I’v only ordered takeout and I recommended the pepper steak!

Do not understand why people keep telling me this place is the best. The pepper steak was reallllllllllly bad. The cups were dirty.

Not good! At least not if you take it to go. When we poured the eggrolls out of their paper bag, they were in a pool of grease. The cream cheese wontons were too tough to eat and the sweet and sour chicken should have been called soggy and mushy mystery meat with no-flavor sauce. The rice was decent… that was all. We also didn’t get chopsticks or fortune cookies :-( My fortune is telling me to find somewhere else for Chinese food in Longview! BTW they only accept cash… Just so you know.

Best Chinese place in Longview If you have eaten here you wont eat any other Chinese in this town Pepper steak and any of the fried rice is amazing. You definitely get more than you pay for as well. Dinner is fairly inexpensive and you get enough food for two people. My favorite place since I was a kid!

I’ve eaten Chinese Food all over the country and it’s hard to believe that the best I’ve ever had is at small place in Longview, Texas called Magic China. I’ve eaten several different entrees there, and everyone of them is good. My favorites are the Pepper Steak and Shrimp Fried Rice. It is always hot and good and big enough for two meals. The staff was always friendly and nice. The food is always piping hot and the restaurant is clean, which is a problem for a lot of Chinese restaurants I’ve been to before. Not much in the way of ambiance, but I don’t care. The food is great.

Fast and friendly service but food left a lot to be desired. Had the lunch plates which were less than $ 5 and came with small soup, egg roll, fried rice, and fortune cookie. Pepper steak was pretty bad, Hunan chicken was good. No General Tao chicken on the menu, which was surprising. Egg drop soup was good, egg rolls were too. Cash only.

A long-standing favorite of ours. We can always depend on fast and cheap take-out Chinese, and plenty of it. Yeah, you can dine in, but we prefer take-out, since it doesn’t have much of an ambience. I can’t in good faith give them 5 stars, but for what it is, it’s very good. TIP: Ask for the lemon chicken, which isn’t on the menu. It’s battered and fried, then bathed in a lemony sauce with a lemon slice on top, and is a welcome change from all the brown– and spicy-sauced dishes they serve.

It’s really good. Looks trashy from the outside but inside isn’t to shabby. The place is very small and I learned the hard way, CASHONLY! Which isn’t good because that has stopped me from going many times.

For a quick meal, Magic China is one of the best. We have always found the food great-simple but filling. Don’t go expecting atmosphere-just good service and tasty Chinese food. They offer takeout as well. Buzz through the drive-through for a quick pickup.

Great Chinese take-out food! The place looks like a complete dump from the outside(never been inside) but don’t let that fool you. They have a drive-thru and it’s fast-moving. It took them all of 5 minutes to serve me. This is tastey food for a reasonable price.

Best cheap Chinese I have had in a while! We just moved her from CA and were looking for a good Chinese restaurant. The food was cheap($ 6−9/plate) and delicious. We ordered sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice and Mongolian beef between my husband and myself. We didn’t take anything home. Interior looked just as shabby ask exterior. Cash only. Hole-in-the-wall joints are usually the best restaurants!

***CASHONLY!!!*** Most people probably wouldn’t stop at this ‘hole in the wall’ looking place, but if you’re from Longview area, you know what’s up! It’s the best in town! I love the moo-goo-gai-pan, wonton soup and chicken fried rice with baby corns on top! ****Little secret: when dining in, order your food to go. they give you more! ;)

Magic China has really good takeout food. They have the best egg rolls in the world. Make sure you take cash as they don’t take checks or credit cards. Very reasonable prices.

I have been going here(less regularly since we moved out of town 4 years ago) for the past 10 years. It was a favorite lunch spot when my husband and I worked in town. This was my first experience with hot & sour soup and now I can’t eat it from anywhere else. I was never a fan of soups before I had this and I really enjoy it with the crisps they serve(I’m no pro here, I don’t know what they are called but they are crunchy and they come with the soup) I also think their egg rolls and chicken fried rice is really good. We still go on occasion. Not as often now that we have a child but I would go back. Staff is friendly, but yeah they only take cash or local checks.

Great place for lunch or dinner. Food is good and service is excellent. Want something special. Just tell them. Don’t like a particular veggie. Tell them. No carrots you’ll get it to your liking

LOVEIT! This is another family favorite! I can recall numerous birthday request as a kid for MAGICCHINA take out for dinner.(now i request that my parents and sister and her bunch and my family eat here for my adult birthday lunch) They also have HUGE lunch portions. The staff is great and we always get the same lovely lady who really loves working here. So its nice to see staff who really enjoy what they do! Plus when we do dine in, they don’t mind that my husband is eating WENDYS instead of magic china. Since he WILLNOT eat any chinese food, and might i add, i have tried!!! If you have not tried it, than you are missing out!!!

Five star favorite place for a take-out meal! The usual is egg roll, moo shoo pork with plum sauce and chicken broccoli with fried rice. We’ve eaten in — The place is ok… food is better.

I remember Magic China from the days of the original owner –who also happened to be my landlord. The days of using real chicken stock to start the hot & sour soup have changed … dramatically. The hot & sour soup has a rich, dark color. Why? Because they start with soy sauce. It’s not terrible, considering there are various vegetables in the semi-thick broth. But, it’s neither hot nor sour. It tastes like something with the label ‘Chun King,’ and I doubt I will order it again. The beef & snow peas have a nice consistency, but the flavor is that of soy sauce –and that’s after I have poured a small container of peppers and oil on it, The sesame chicken tastes a little different than the beef & snow peas, probably because they put a little sugar in it. Good? No. It tastes like I’m eating at a food court. Paper-wrapped chicken … It’s not bad. It’s not as good as I remember from years back. But, it’s difficult to mess up chicken and spice. A little on the dry side(white meat), but the flavor is good. The lo mein is probably the highlight of the restaurant … because they don’t have much of an opportunity to over-flavor it with soy sauce. The vegetables are far from crisp tender(they are cooked instead for people without teeth), but the pasta was just this side of gummy. Bottom line: If you are a smoker or a senior citizen and your tastebuds are shot, this is the place for you. I, on the other hand, like to know whether I’m eating beef or chicken; rice or pasta. I’ll probably be back here — when I’m desperate or drunk. Otherwise, I’ll stick to the frozen food section of Wal-Mart, or just go to McDonald’s.

Outstanding food for such a little and hard place to get in and out of. The egg rolls are some of the. Best I have eaten in America. Great prices, large portions.
