Never had a bad experience at a walgreen. Good place to get what you need. I usually get my meds here whenever anyone is sick. So props to them, the cashier is friendly and good to their customers. Sometimes they can be rude, just depends who it is. Overall its fine.

WORST place I have ever been to in my entire life!!! I wish I could rate them negatively. My boyfriend and I just got out of a 24 hour hospital stay in Fountain Valley Regional where he had major reconstructive surgery. But the time we got the chance to be released my boyfriend just wants to go home but is still in excruciating pain so we call this pharmacy ahead of time as most others are all closed by now or don’t have the correct meds, to ensure they have his meds in stock and we can pick them up promptly. A guy named Derek insured we could pick up Oxycodone here for the pain and takes down all our info ahead of time, just says to bring an ID. He said their insurance system was down but it could be filled no problem if we are paying cash. We jump in the car and drive the 30 mins here (20 mins past our home in Belmont Shore) and they tell us 2 hour wait to fill 30 pills although the place is completely empty and it’s 10 pm… WTF!!! My boyfriend is in awful pain and just got out of surgery a few hours ago which I clearly explained on the phone… You couldn’t have explained the 2 hour wait over the fucking phone!!! I had to drive the 20 mins home to try my best to make him as comfortable as possible and now have to drive 20 mins back to be there by midnight after an obviously stressful hospital stay because of your uncaring, incompetent employees. My boyfriend is still in the worst pain in my life. Pharmacist and assistant didn’t care whatsoever even after seeing him in the hospital gown and all. We are FURIOUS, to say the least. All they had to do to make it right is fill the damn prescription as no one was waiting except us and they were all standing around anyway, plus it was THEIR MISTAKE! That’s what good customer service is, especially when they see someone in obvious EXCRUCIATING pain! I will be filing a formal complaint and will never attend another Walgreens again, and you bet I’ll be telling all our friends and family the way Walgreens treats its loyal customers and to choose any other pharmacy but Walgreens. If I was the store manager, I’d fire the entire crew here. Shame on you for having the worst, most inconsiderate customer service we have ever experienced!!!

The drive thru wait is 30 minutes! Ridiculous why call it a drive thru if the wait is longer than just walking in!

I called to check in on a vaccine… I was put on hold for 30 minutes and no one ever answered. so I drove 40 minutes all to be told the pharmacist was on lunch, I get that everyone needs to take a lunch break, but seriously? that’s why I was calling– to make sure there was someone there to help me when I arrived. if someone would have just answered the phone I would have come when the pharmacist was there and not be wasting half of the day waiting for them to be done with their lunch– if this wasn’t the only location within an hour drive of me that carries the vaccine I needed for my upcoming trip… there is no way I would ever come here.

Dude… If you don’t like your job, find a new one. The night pharmacist is a total excuse giving jerk. So happy they are open 24hours but damn. I sat for 30min and he gave every single person some type of «I’m busy», «it will be a while» response. No one was in there so I’m not sure why he was so busy, couldn’t even take the time to explain my meds. Thanks lazy ass. Appreciate all your hard work and dedication to the public’s health.

This Walgreens is my favorite Walgreens near by my neighborhood. The cashiers are always so friendly. They even call me by my first name. Amazing guest service.

This review is in regards to the Pharmacy–
Its sure would be nice if someone in the pharmacy would pick up the phone! I waited on hold for 12 min and finally gave up! Then I call back and am put on hold again, only to be told there were 3 people in line on hold in front of me! Does nobody answer the phone!!!
All I’m trying to do is find out if my prescription is ready, according the the «Walgreen’s» Website my prescription is «prepared» and the pharmacist is checking for «drug interactions” — well it’s been showing the same status for over an hour! That’s a long time to throw 14 pills in a bottle and make sure that they don’t interact with any med’s I’m currently on (which is none).
I will not be returning to this pharmacy, will have to find on that’s better staffed and where they answer the phone!!!

Worst drive-​thru service ever. I’ve been coming to this Walgreens drive-​thru for 2 months now and every time I come I am waiting for more than 20 minutes in line. Even if there is only one car in front of me I would be waiting for 20 minutes. If there are more than 2 cars at the drive-​thru I would suggest coming back because even when you go inside they are still snails.

I can’t comment on the rest of the drugstore & it’s service. Reading other reviews, I do feel as though I’ve been treated like a criminal over a medication I’ve taken for years, which puzzles me. The pharmacist lectured me, even questioned my doctor’s prescribing practices which was awkward at best. I shouldn’t have to explain my private medical history to them beyond supplying an Rx. it was just embarrassing.
I may not have filled it at that location before, but the point of doing business with a chain is that they can see my prescription history from other Walgreens locations. And I certainly filled it before in that system.
They also aren’t keeping my refill records & are far too quick to tell me «no we don’t have that in yr record for you.» I insist they look again– I think some pharm techs just don’t know how to use the system/​records?
I’m noticing that they are either understaffed or overwhelmed; service is mostly adequate or very bad. definitely the worst it’s been in the 2+ years I’ve been using this location.
I hope someone in management is reading these reviews… bums me out to write it.

I spoke with the management the next day after a bit of sleep. The pharmacist on staff and manager were much more understanding and willing to explain the situation than Dean. D. I haven’t had any problems with the store since then.

After two failed trips to different Targets to get some prescriptions filled ahead of my surgery, I finally came to the 24-​hour Walgreen’s.
First, the pharmacist gives me grief because the prescribing doctor is in Newport Beach and they don’t fill prescriptions out of the area. Give me a break! It’s not from Portland, it’s Newport. Same region! And I explained that I LIVE in Long Beach.
Second, because my prescription is Percocet and valium, I’m already being treated with suspicion that I really don’t appreciate. The pharmacist kept making comments like, «This prescription was filled out on the 19^th.» Yeah? So fucking what? I’ve been busy and didn’t need them filled until yesterday anyway.
Third, he says he needs to verify this is legit with my doctor. Fine! I invite you to!
I didn’t appreciate his attitude about it. Yes, there are people who abuse prescription drugs, but I’m not one of them. I had also just gone to the gym, and I’m going to guess that most people who get up at the crack of dawn to workout aren’t eating valium and Percocet like it’s candy.
Anyway. Fast forward a few hours later. Walgreen’s calls, but leaves no voicemail. So, I call and they say the prescriptions are ready. I drive all the way over there, and as the girl is ringing them up, she notices that the antibiotic they’re prescribing is similar to penicillin, which I’m allergic to. I did get the Percocet and valium, at least.
I’m thinking, why couldn’t the goddamn pharmacist have noticed this?!! That’s his friggin’ job! The cashier knew more than the pharmacist? Unreal.
They got on the phone and try to reach my doctor. I say I have to go, but call me when it’s ready. Once again, they call, leave no voicemail, but we assume it’s ready and go. And then we find out that the doctor said I didn’t need the antibiotics after all and canceled the script for that.
Leave a damn voicemail, Walgreen’s and quit wasting everyone’s time.

Horrible service at the pharmacy. They told me that my prescription would take 30 minutes to be ready for pick up, and that they’ll text me as soon as it was ready. An hour later, I decided to call and they told me it would take another 30 minutes. I explained to then what they said earlier, so now, 10 minutes after that I am still sitting in my car waiting.

I’ve been to this Walgreens many times! Service is a hit or miss depending on when you get here. There is usually parking available in the private parking lot throughout the day, but no one seems to maintain the entrance of the venue. The entrance does look dirty at times and a lot of lingering trash that is not cleaned. Upon entrance, items do look to be correctly stocked, but as you walk around, there is usually items that are just out of place. There seems to be more staff during the afternoon, and they are usually helpful. Evening team members seem to hate being there and act like robots. They just want to you to checkout and leave. During this visit, I tried asking for an item, and the team member just replied «if it’s not there, then we’re out»! –and the team member didn’t even try to check herself. Overall a OK place to get a medicine or daily items, but don’t expect staler service here.

I know this is an otherwise national chain but in a world with so many choices I am happy to have this as my neighborhood pharmacy. I have been a customer for 12 years and I have gotten to know many of the clerks and I am a fan of being a regular. Many of the staff have been there almost the entire time.
I was forced to change pharmacies when I changed insurance. I was very happy with the service and care I received from Tracy one of their pharmacists. I have recently returned and I am getting the same exceptional treatment. At this Walgreen’s they remember me and what I need. They make sure to keep up with my needs and never need to be reminded to order or renew my medications or anyone in my home.

I like how I can get medication at anytime. But the staff in the pharmacy is sometimes very unprofessional. I go to pick up medication and they ask for name and address. I always hand them my driver’s license. Now, if they actually checked the license, they wouldn’t ask for my address. I understand, maybe «Is this your current address?» But I do it because there are other people, and I don’t want them, to over hear my information. No common sense!

This Long Beach Store charges $ 0.10 for a bag!

Oh, their new «Rewards» program SUCKS!!! It’s way too complicated and just isn’t worth the trouble. You have to accrue thousands of points in order to get a crummy reward, and only certain products apply.
Plus they ask for your driver’s license just to sign up. Get real.

I like the convenience of a neighborhood 24-​hour pharmacy, especially when I need to go out for a late night run of OTC meds or feminine stuff, if you know what I mean. There are somethings I like about the Walgreens chain in general, but there are some things about this location that lowers the number of stars.
PROS:
— 24 hours!
— don’t need a club card in order to save $$
CONS:
— parking lot is not very well lit at night
— doesn’t carry my favorite brand of cosmetics… neutrogena and physician’s formula. :(

This has been my neighborhood drug store/​pharmacy for years. It’s super close to my house, has a drive thru, and is open 24 hours. When it was new, it was a 5 star. over the years, it’s gotten shabby not only in appearance, but in service. Back in the day, you’d get a ‘good morning’ when you walked in, and a smile from the pharmacist. Now, you get blank stares and attitude. Too often the lines are too long and too slow moving, it shouldn’t be that complicated to run in and buy kleenex. The store is dirty, poorly organized, and the quality of merchandise just sucks. The stock on their shelves resembles a swap meet more than a drug store, and the stuff they do have looks like it came out of the back of a garbage truck. Boxes are ripped, dirty, and open. Sorry, I’m not gonna buy toothpaste when the box has been opened and taped closed again. Gross.
They do have propane exchanges, the blue rhino thing, which is the only reason they keep a star. I’ve switched my stuff over to the CVS up the street and am much happier.
