Valvoline Instant Oil Change

I came to this Valvoline oil change station last minute– I usually have the Groupon and drive to the Anaheim location but I came here because it’s close to my house. I drove up and Manny instantly helped me– he was very nice and helpful. Now I know the biggest dread is when they suggest changing this filter or windshield wipers adding more $$$ to your total. Now I always feel like when I say «no thank you» it makes me think that they think I don’t care for my car. But it’s just a part of their job. Some of those additional services are pricey and are simple to fix, I usually end up doing them myself. I got a synthetic blend oil change for my car and used the Unilocal coupon code to get $ 10 off. Ended up paying $ 56 (or something like that.) They were quick, friendly and efficient. I will definitely be back again.

Don’t go here! No one was watching the store because they were all grouped up socializing. so I drove in and instead of being greeted this young guy chastises me and says «you weren’t supposed to drive in here. You are supposed to wait.» Another broad said «it’s common sense» why would I pay money to be insulted? I’m out… My oil gauge is at 8% but it won’t get changed by those idiots. Zero stars!
Since I didn’t have time to drive across town to the mechanic shop, I went to their competition who greeted me at the driveway where these incompetents should have done. Do I like the competition? Not at all. But at this point, just like the elections… It’s not who you want, it’s who you don’t.

New to the area and was past due for an oil change.

I never had to step out of my car, everyone seems to know what they’re doing and everyone is constantly communicating with each other… amazing!

Fastest oil change ever. In and out in under 15 minutes and everyone was nice and professional. With the coupon, only ran me 37 bucks and some change

On Sunday April 24, 2016 I went to this Valvoline to get an oil change. It was Sunday and it was not busy. There was only one other customer being serviced. When I pull in to the garage the technician told me to stay in the car it’s a drive through you don’t have to leave your car. Everything went well it was quick and speedy. When they finished the oil change I paid $ 45.00. The service tech ask me if I could turn the key to the on position and pump the gas 5 times so I could clear the display screen to take off the low engine oil sign when I did it it did not work the service attendant asked me one more time to pump the gas 5 times and turn the key to on it did not work another service attendant came over and said you’re supposed to do it 3 times I did it 3 times and it did not work he asked me to do it again they did not work the original service attendant said let me try it he got in the car he tried it it did not work the second service attendant tried it he tried it did not work then they went and got the manager he tried it it did not work that was a total of about 30 pumps on my gas pedal the manager tried to start the car and the car was dead no fire from the ignition. I then asked him what did they do to my car they tried to tell me that my battery was dead I told them that I just got a new battery 2 weeks ago then they said it was my starter I told them that it’s not my starter. I’ve been told them that you must have activated my kill switch when you were pumping the gas and turning the ignition but they did not want to hear what I had to say they then start hitting my starter with a hammer telling me that they need to bump the starter I said it’s not the starter it’s the kill switch. Then I tried to give my owner’s manual to the service tech and give it to them to try to find the steps to deactivate the kill switch. He told me he could not find it then they kept telling me that my battery was dead my starter was bad and I’m going to have to move the car off of them ramp so they can make room for another customer there were no more customers there I kept telling them that it’s not the starter it’s not the battery. Then one of the service tech approached me and told me that you going to have to put your car in neutral and I said why he said because you’re going to have to move your car out of the garage I said and then what he said you’re on your own your starter is out and your battery is out it’s not our problem I said it is your problem because when I came in my car was running all I came was to get an oil change and my car is going to be starting when it leaves you’re not going to push me out on the street after you broke my car. the service attendant told me that if I did not remove my car he was going to call the police on me I said you going to call the police on me after I just paid you $ 45 for an oil change and then my car was running when I came in and now it’s not running I don’t think so I said call the police if you want I got very upset because I couldn’t believe I was being treated so bad. the service attendant went to the office to call the police at that time I had my owners manual and I was running through it I found where it said if you keep pumping the gas the car will shut down automatically here is the process to restart your car I followed the instructions. The instructions said to turn the key to the start position hold the gas pedal down for 15 seconds and the car will start I did it and the car started the service tech was very apologetic except for the one who threatened to call the police on me they said they had never seen that done before and apologize that offered to give me a 50% coupon on my next visit butt I’ve never been treated so bad by a company that is supposed to be professional they were going to throw me out on the street like a dog and obviously they were wrong because they offered me 50% off so what I’m saying is I would never go there again and they will get a bad rating and if anyone goes there I advise you not to. I could not understand why they were trying to kick me out of the shop there were no customers I thought maybe they were going to close but this was around 2 o’clock p.m. on Sunday I later drove by hour and a half later and they were still open so it was not the case of them closing I felt they treated me very rudely and unfair I’m even thinking about taking legal measures so this is my experience I would never go there again

Wonderful experience getting my oil changed at this place. I’ve been scammed at jiffy lubes before and wanted to go somewhere new other than the expensive dealership. I was immediately greeted by friendly staff and didn’t have to even get out of my car! They talked me through everything, gave me options and recommendations without trying to up sell me. Manny and John really did a great job. This will be my go-​to oil service station from now on.

I am getting an oil change now… I should have listened to my gut and left before I pulled in. I was here before the other two cars like 10 minutes before and they got and finished there oil change before I even got mine. I will go to the oil change place down the street next time!

Great service! Quick and easy and you don’t even have to get out of your car. I was in and out of there in about 10 minutes, although it was a Monday afternoon which is not peak hours for an oil change. I liked how they verified which oil to put in, and they show the level on the dipstick afterwards. I will definitely be returning.

Always had good luck with Valvoline Instant Oil Change in the past and have been recommending them to others for a while now. Went to this particular location for the first time recently and the staff was friendly and did the services I requested fine, to be fair. However, when the guy helping me opened the door to scan my car into their system he opened it too far and into the stand they have their computers on. He acted strange initially, but didn’t say anything to me so I made the mistake of thinking my door must be fine. Went right home and got out and looked at it and my door handle was damaged. Contacted them immediately and they said they’d investigate. I didn’t want to leave a bad review prior to giving them a chance to take care of the damage they caused. The handle was fine when I got in the car before I went there, and I know he hit the door on the stand, but they’re denying it and not covering the damages because they say they didn’t have a good angle on it in their video. The manager said the employee said he didn’t remember anything happening. Not that nothing happened, but that he «didn’t remember». Super disappointed in these guys and plan on never returning to any of their locations. It wouldn’t even cost that much to fix, and I can definitely afford it. I just don’t think I should have to pay for it out of my pocket based purely on the principle of the matter. I intend to share this review all over so people know what’s up with these guys. Do yourself a favor and get your oil changed elsewhere, unless you’re cool with paying for random cosmetic damage caused by them! Wish I could leave less than 1 star.

Professional, friendly, informative. Quick and reasonable prices. I’ll be coming back for sure. Alex and Jared helped me and were very polite, great customer service and need promotions or raises or something because they impressed me in the honesty off their work.

Got an oil change with my two kids and it wasn’t a nightmare! I pulled up they’re very nice. They offered my kids coloring books and crayons. Then proceeded to get my info and start my oil change. They weren’t pushy trying to up sell me. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Thank you for helping this busy mom get a oil change hassle free!

They claim 15 minutes for an oil change. Forget to tell you about the 40 minute wait before you can get inside.

Forced air filter Change. What the hell? How does this guy just take your air filter and change it and then charge it to you? I was never asked if this is what I wanted. I needed fuel injectors cleaned and that was more important to me but I had to spend the cash on the air filter because they made the executive decision on what I’m spending money on today. Did anyone teach these guys customer service? Common sense?

Do not go here to get your oil changed.
When I rolled up to the station to get in line for an oil change I was pointed to go behind a car on the far right. After waiting here for 30 minutes I had seen the other two cars who arrived after me get their oil changed.
When I asked one of the employees why I had been pointed to that line they told me, «I don’t remember.» Are you kidding me?
They told me 5 more minutes… Too bad, left. This place does not deserve my business. Incompetent!

Came here because I needed an oil change and it had decent reviews. It was what I expected. There are three bays, and you stay in your car while they work. I actually prefer this style.
They did try to upsell me on a number of items and services. That’s their job, though. The guys were fast and friendly, as well as thorough. They told me a number of recommendations that I can bring up to my regular mechanic.
I’ll be back as needed. The $ 5 Unilocal check-​in discount definitely helped.

This Valvoline is located on the corner of Atlantic and Wardlow. When you pull up you will see three different lane possibilities. Wait for the staff to instruct you; they directed me into the middle one.
I’ve changed my oil here numerous times. What I like is the consistency. They go through the same checklist routine each and every time, and it’s a good one. I never think to inspect my brake lights, signal lights, etc, so they’ve got me covered. They also check to make sure your air filter is okay. I usually need the air filter replaced only every other time I get my oil changed.
The price is in the medium/​high range for a regular oil change (about $ 35). But I like that I don’t need to get out of my car. The whole process only takes about 15 minutes. The staff is friendly and precise. They know you want to get out of there quickly but at the same time feel good about the service you just received. I like that they show me the new oil each and every time. Another plus is that there is no shady upselling or parts mysteriously needing to be fixed.
After your first visit, you’ll receive emails from time to time with discounts. You can also check in on Unilocal to get $ 5 off if you don’t have any coupons.
All in all, this location is great and I will continue getting my oil changed here for both of my cars. I’ll know when it’s time because they put a nifty reminder sticker on my windshield.
