Yay, I was a fan. I think this place is going out of business!

Horrible. I will never go here again. I went in just to have a look around and was hit by not one, not two but four employees all coming up to me at once asking if I need asistance and making suggestions even though I just walked into the store. Then I did find something I might of wanted but then got the meanest person i have ever encountered at the check out stand. She wouldn’t take my twenties as she said they were fake. First off I work at a bank, i know fake twenties and these arnt it. Second they were clean and crisp right from the treasure to the bank that day. She asked if I had a credit card and I only had an amex so of course I left empty handed. I have never felt so insulted in my life. This place is destined to fail. Stay away from it otherwise they will rip you off. Also don’t they need an alcohol license to be handing out wine and beer?

The love shack is a great find in Belmont Shore… if you need something cute or different for a b-day rt significant event. this is the place, the staff is helpful and they have a great attitude, they truly appreciate your business and it shows. If you love Brighton items, they have alot and a 40% section for discontinued(retired) styles of Brighton… if you like Bungalow Bay in the Marketplace. its the same owner. you’ll love this place too. clothing, scarfs, hats, shoes and much much more. check out the little ol’ place where we can get together… its a cute place…

I found this store to have a really good variety of cute & fun items… many would make great gifts. I actually got to ‘stock up’ on some gifts for future birthdays, so that makes me happy. While I agree with the earlier review that 5001 had really great items, I find this is simply a different store, with a different vision. I found a lot to look at, browse through, and to buy. I really like the store, and am not sure what ‘junk’ was referred to, as there were many upscale items in the store, as well as affordable ones. I get down to 2nd St. with some degree of regularity, and think The Love Shack found a cute niche there on 2nd St. The ‘fun and funky’ is a great cache, and I will definitely be back.

This place has a lot to live up to, certainly, moving into 5001’s old spot. They’re smart in keeping with a similar retail style of 5001: neat trinkets, kitchen/bar accessories, etc. They also have clothing items. But where 5001 excelled in class, Love Shack excels in tackiness. Sure, the items are interesting enough to browse through, and some items are even worthy of being picked up and examined… but once you do, you realize that’s it’s all just junk. A little too touristy, a little too commercial, and a little too tacky. You know how 5001 had those horrible painted wine and martini classes that had like«shoe lover» painted on it or something horribly corny like that? And you were thinking, «damn 5001, what on earth possessed you to offer this piece of crap in the midst of all your nice stuff??» Well, Love Shack is like ALL that kind of crap. Ugh.
