Each creation is an individual serving of an embellished dessert that, after one bite, will make you crave for more. They are not overly rich and heavy on the sugar. They are the perfect serving size packaged in pastry boxes for easy carrying and sharing.

We bake fresh every morning. The desserts are NOT pre-​frosted so we custom create them with every order.

Daily cupcake flavors: red velvet, chocolate banana, german chocolate, cookies & cream, strawberry drizzle, blueberry drizzle, green tea, and yellow cake confetti. Special flavors: coming soon!

Daily cheesecake flavors: strawberry drizzle, blueberry drizzle, caramel and cookies & cream.

Also offering: chocolate and caramel drizzle brownies, peanut butter chip, coconut chip & double chip cookies. More desserts are being added to the menu.

History

Established in 2009.

The name «Sweet Embellishments» is exactly what we offer — an array of embellished desserts that are different from the typical stereotype of what a dessert should presumably be. We don’t serve the typical overly rich cupcake, nor do we serve the standard paste-​like cheescake. The brownies aren’t typically square cut and all of the desserts don’t make you feel heavy inside after just one bite.

For those that come in to Sweet Embellishments to taste our desserts and have certain expectations — comparing us to another cupcake shop — you might be dissapointed. We don’t offer the same thing. We cater to those who enjoy different desserts but don’t want the sugar coma and don’t want to pay a ridiculous price for a cupcake. We make our desserts light but still tasty enough so that we will see our customers returning within days.

We bake fresh every morning and frost your desserts when you order them. They don’t sit pre-​frosted inside a glass cabinet for hours.

This place is a hidden gem located on the backside of the Trader Joe’s back parking lot off Bellflower and Stearns.
I picked up a dozen cupcakes for a friend’s birthday. I got the red velvet, cookies and cream, German chocolate, pink lemonade, and chocolate mint. With a Unilocal check in you get 50 cents off. It’s not much of a discount but the prices for these delicious cupcakes are so reasonable compared to those other well known cupcake places.
The cupcakes were nicely packaged with a birthday sticker and tied with a black ribbon.
The cupcakes were a hit. The frosting is a light whipped cream consistency not overly sweet. And the cake is so light and moist. And the unique thing about these cupcakes is that they’re split in half and there’s the whipped light frosting layered in the center. The cupcakes are heavenly! So light and not overly sweet. The perfect cupcake.
Service is friendly. Parking is plentiful.
You can forget the high priced cupcakes like Sprinkles and Frosted. I’ll take Sweet Embellishments any day! And the awesome thing is the price is like about the third of the cost of those high priced cupcakeries. Say what?! Yeah it’s true! We loved them. I’m definitely a fan and will be back for more!

Purchased a box of 12 cupcakes for $ 12.
They are smaller than normal sized cupcakes (cakes) which is great so you have room to try more than one flavor. Nutella, mint chocolate chip, s’mores, red velvet, coffee, butter pecan were some of the flavors in the box.
Cakes: Moist but surprising crumbly for how moist they were
Flavor: Flavors were not strong enough. Daughter said it was the worst red velvet cupcake she has ever had; however, it is one of their best sellers.
Icing: Didn’t enhance/​pair well with each cupcake. Their standard vanilla icing was used on the flavors I tried. Disappointed in this category
Store: Clean and offers games to play while eating your cupcake and/​or having coffee
Price: Reasonable
Workers: Nice and provided the cupcakes timely after the order
Nice workers and store serving average cupcakes. If the cupcakes had bolder flavors and paired their icings better with the cupcake flavors, I’d go back.

Yesterday was my first time visiting this location and I absolutely loved it. The variety of cupcakes they have are awesome and their is definitely something for everyone there. I love cupcakes and am always going to new locations looking around for another great spot and this has definitely been one of my favorites. Not to mention the guy helping us who’s name I didn’t catch was extremely helpful and the cupcakes were absolutely delicious.

I love cupcakes that are not excessively dense both the cake and the cream. While I felt like the presentation was mediocre, this place gets the sweetness factor on point. They also wrap them in cute boxes!

Sweet Embellishments is one my favorite dessert places. It is known for their delicious cupcakes. However, they also have cheesecakes, brownies, and many other sweets! They are also affordable. I have used them for parties, piano recitals, baby showers, engagement parties and many other events!

I purchased a dozen of different flavors for an event and we really enjoyed them.
Not only pretty to look at, they were very tasty.
Batter very light and fluffy, frosting not too much or too sweet depending on the flavor.
Prices are average, discounts for a dozen or more.
Service was great, the space is cute as well.
Large, bright and spacious, they have a huge selection, so no need to preorder.

We first were aware of Sweet Embellishments from a wedding we shot in Long Beach and were blown away by their taro flavored cupcakes.
Since then, we knew we were going to choose these guys to do our desserts for our wedding. Well, we just celebrated on 12÷4÷15 and everybody loved them! We chose taro, peanut butter, and coffee cupcakes and they were perfect.
We ordered by phone, paid by phone and picked them up a day before the wedding and were still soft and delicious 2 days later.

I came here for the first time a few days ago. It was my best friend birthday so I decided to get her some cupcakes. This place is located near my school so it was convenient!
First of all, I would like to say that it is located behind Trader Joes. The GPS stopped right at the intersection so don’t get confused. Keep going past it because it’s hidden in the back. Well in a way. Parking is plenty so that’s a good thing.
So I ordered a 12 cupcakes. When you check in you get $ 0.50 off. I mean it’s something! I got the taro, red velvet, green tea, yellow confetti, and some chocolate cupcakes. There was just too many to remember! The cupcakes also looked very pretty. The total came out to around $ 12.
Anyways, friendly and great service. Prices were pretty cheap too. Love it! Will come back whenever I have to surprise someone special! :)

This place is behind the plaza, not directly in the plaza… So yeah… Remember that!
The cupcakes aren’t extremely sweet, which is a good thing. I personally loved the taro one, but that could just be because I love taro sweets. That was the sole reason I came here… Yet I ordered 12 cupcakes of different flavors. You know how that goes.
Not a fan of how the cookies n cream cupcake is chocolate based w/​cookies n cream frosting… NO BUENO!!!)’= POR QUE!?! Cookies n cream is my second love.
Well a lot of their cupcakes are chocolate or vanilla based actually lol I just took it to heart w/​the cookies n cream one.
Nonetheless, I’d still come back lol.

Great cupcakes at a great price! I bought the mini cupcakes and the cupcake stand for my friend’s baby shower. Everyone was ranting & raving about how great the cupcakes were! :) I bought 3 of the 36 mini cupcakes and at $ 12 per 36 pieces, I was a very happy customer! They decorated each mini cupcake beautifully and they were the perfect size for a little treat! They allow you to get 3 different flavors per 36 boxes. The favorites were the smores, mint chocolate, chocolate banana, and Nutella! The stand is only $ 10… so worth it! Also great location, sweet employees, and cute little shop! Will definitely be coming back and sending friends their way!

Yum yum yum! We came here and got a 6 pack of cupcakes and brownies — they were awesome! I got the mint chocolate chip, oreo cookie, and smores in both the cupcake and the brownie varieties. They did not disappoint. I was also shocked at how affordable it was! For a 6 pack it was like $ 7 or something ridiculous like that. I left happy!

So I finally came back to give them another try after a very long hiatus. My last review of them was during the time when cupcakes were the thing and compared to some of the shops at the time I felt they weren’t anything special. Fast forward 3 years and obviously it wasn’t just a trend because despite their really great prices, they’ve managed to stay around.
What I will say is they have pretty good desserts but maybe just don’t cater to my taste? Their desserts are very light and aren’t too sweet but they have good presentation and are a great value.

This is my girlfriend and I’s go to spot to grab some cupcakes and brownies cause it’s so cheap and delicious. Their brownies are unique and looks like a cupcake. I recommend getting brownies if you want something solid and not fluffy. The place is unique cause you can buy decorations to customize your cupcakes and brownies if you want to give it to somebody. A box of 4 is $ 5 plus tax, seriously that’s in my budget! They sell cheesecakes, too and it’s not an ordinary cheesecake that you buy in a store. It’s inside a cup and mann that was creamy and filling coming from a small container. It has the consistency of a thick fudge and the crust is in the bottom of the cup. So unique, I love it! Make sure to come early though cause they always ran out of cheesecakes in the afternoon. You can play board games here, too when you order it for here cause they have a game collection and its awesome. Definitely and chill/​cool place to be!

The cupcakes are ok. It’s definitely a step above grocery store cupcakes but still lacking in quality. I come here for the price! It’s fancyish looking cupcakes 22 for $ 24. They have a variety of flavors, colors, toppers and sprinkles. Their actual cupcake is similar to a Duncan Hines box mix you buy at the grocery store and you make yourself at home. Their cupcakes are moist and baked well. The icing is what saves them. The freshly made cream comes in a variety of flavors, making up for the bland cake portion. The cream is soft, light and holds the sprinkles well. Of all the cupcakes, the smores cupcake stands out the best due to the sweetness of toppings and presentation. It tastes like exactly what it’s supposed to, hersheys chocolate, marshmallow and Graham crackers. Come here for the price, but don’t expect Sprinkles quality.

Because we walked in and wanted it for the day we didn’t have as much to choose from. I didn’t get to try the taro or green tea.
They had boxes prepped with white and chocolate cupcake bases and we chose the topping. We got German chocolate, strawberry drizzle, and cookies and cream. The German chocolate was the best. The other two were okay. Not amazing cupcakes but a nice treat. In the future I would go with the customer favorites. Seems those are spot on. :)

Sweet Embellishments is pretty hard to find — it’s in the shopping square behind Trader Joe’s. GPS led me to the TJ’s plaza and I couldn’t find it. Turns out that it is located behind the Metro PCS. There is another parking lot on that side, so don’t feel the need to park in the TJ’s lot and then walk (like I did).
This bakery only one other customer there when I stopped by on a Saturday evening around 6 PM. There is a little display with all of the available flavors for cupcakes, cheesecakes, and brownies. By that time, most of the items were out. There were no brownies or cheesecakes left. About 5 of the cupcake flavors were out. I picked up a random dozen cupcakes to bring to a BBQ. The wait was pretty long considering there was only one other customer. Other than the speed, the cashier was also not listening very well when taking my order. But I get that it was the end of the day, she might have been tired. Anyway, I come to a bakery for the goodies, not the customer service.
I had the peach drizzle cupcake which was pretty good. It was moist, but didn’t taste exactly peachy. It seemed as if it was a vanilla cake with some frosting with some peach syrup drizzled on top. Pretty generic cupcake. It had good texture and level of sweetness, but wasn’t AMAZING. It looked as if most of the cupcakes had the same frosting, just different drizzle/​toppings. Everyone at the BBQ said that the cupcakes were good though.
So, if these cupcakes weren’t so cheap, I would definitely give them 3 stars. but at $ 12 per dozen, you really can’t go wrong. They are presented pretty nicely too. Not the best cupcakes ever, but definitely the cheapest dozen of cupcakes I have ever gotten.

My amazing and sweet cousin brought these goodies for my family party
The cupcakes were a huge hit and were amazing!!! They are super fluffy, moist, and cream filled. I love that the cake part was very light and had the right amount of sweetness. The cream part is not your usual thick cream that other cupcake places make. It’s almost like whip but not. The sweetness is also perfect. I loved that they had a huge variety. My favorite was the mint chocolate cupcake one. They had flavors other places do not carry, for instance, they had green tea. Too bad this place is a little far for me but when I am in the area, this is my go to place for desserts.
