Easily the WORST Chinese food in Long Beach. The delivery guy was unable to follow simple instructions. The food was dry. The pineapple rice had no flavor and the egg foo young was disgusting. Never order this food. A waste of money.

Absolutely revolting. Ordered through Grub Hub, on which they’re now called«China One». All I wanted was sweet and sour chicken, and fried rice. The chicken was possibly the grossest chinese food I’ve ever gotten, completely inedible. Tough on the inside, and soggy as hell on the outside. The fried rice was a pork fried rice, but there was very little pork in it, and a whole lot of fat. I will never order from here again, ever.

This place used to be good, but they’ve recently changed owners, as well as names(They now go by China One even though they have yet to change the sign outside.), and now they’re almost completely incompetent. The orange chicken I was served was absolutely terrible. The meat had a texture similar to that of a car tire and it was so dark I honestly couldn’t tell if it really was chicken. They pretty much burned the hell out of it too. It was completely inedible in regards to taste and texture. Then to top it all off, the first bite I took had a big bone in it that resembled that of a short rib bone. The«fruit smoothies» they offer are closer to a Slurpee. They literally filled half my cup with ice, threw some boba on top of it, then put the slush on top. They also had an issue with their credit card terminal. It ran out of paper, so instead of replacing the paper they continued to run my card over and over. I was charged each time they ran my card. Four times in total. When I told them about it they said it would take a few weeks to reverse the transaction. Thankfully having my bank had no problems disputing those charges and releasing the funds back to my account. Overall my experience was downright awful. Avoid this place like the plague.

Fresh, Cooked to Order, Inexpensive and Delicious. What more could you ask for? Great Chinese Food. Great Service. Hands down.

Living on this side of Long Beach, you’re limited to deliverable Chinese food… so Star of China would be considered our go-to place if we want Chinese food delivered to our place. Foodwise, this place is pretty good for the price. They give you a decent amount for what you pay… and the quality is usually good. Can’t say it’s the best Chinese food I’ve ever had but it’s definitely not the worst. With that said, there are a few issues I have had in the past. They have been known to not have delivery service on occasion, although this has only happened once before. I also have gotten my food with NOSOYSAUCEORSPICYDIPPINGSAUCE! This is usually customary condiments when having this kind of food delivered. And lastly I have called before to place an order and have them tell me that they didn’t have several of the menu items. including fountain drinks. Service has always been super friendly… no complaints there. Star of China is alright… just seems like they have a few kinks in how they run their establishment and the consistency of the small details seem to fail here and there.

As for Chinese«fast food», this place trumps any other place I’ve been to. It’s way better than Panda. The owners are from China, and cook to order– even the lunch specials. None of this pre-cooked slop you see at so many places. The ambiance is simple and not spectacular. However, you can see the kitchen and chef cooking up your meal to order. If you’re looking for good food, this is it. If you’re looking to set the mood with a potential special person, order the food to-go. Can’t beat the price, or the legitimate flavor. This is about as close to home-cooked one can get. Inexpensive, tasty, and fast. All about the grub!
