This group is extremely supportive. Everyone helps keep everyone motivated. I’ve been working out with this group since my son was 6 weeks old. He’s now almost 6 months and I’m very proud to say I’ve lost 52 pounds and counting. All instructors are amazing and you get an awesome workout and feel awesome after. I highly recommend recreation fitness! Hope to meet some new people soon.

Recreation Fitness has transformed my life. I went from being a sedentary type my entire life to losing 60 pounds and becoming an athlete. Because of this group, I look forward to fitness every day. I do about 4 – 5 days of fit camp a week, run 3 times a week, do yoga every week, and am about to do my 3^rd 10K since Christmas. I cook healthy, tasty meals regularly for my family. I never saw myself ever living such a healthy life and loving it so much. All thanks to the encouragement of the trainers at Recreation Fitness.

Nicole is a great trainer! She works you hard, but makes it feel like you’re having fun. She’s very creative and has even worked trivia questions into the workout. She is sweet yet firm, which is a traitt I find often in the Recreation Fitness staff. I would recommend her for a student at any level of fitness.

This is my third year and two kids later attending fitness classes at Recreation Fitness. Emily, Tamara and the rest of the team are amazing and supportive trainers that not only teach fitness classes but they also teach us about proper form and posture while working out, they make fitness fun and they teach us about healthy eating habits. I achieved my weight loss goal while gaining energy and muscle with Emily and her team after having my first daughter, then I worked out throughout my entire pregnancy (and ran a 10k and a 5k — thanks to the stamina I had already built up through Rec Fit) with my second baby and started up again 6 weeks later after having my son. I am now on my way to achieving my weight loss goal again with the help of Emily and her wonderful team. I love that their workouts require minimal to no equipment and you still see the results — who needs a gym when you can workout in the park with Recreation Fitness! Anyone who knows me can attest to the fact that since starting with Rec Fit over 3 years ago my fitness level and strength has dramatically increased. It also has become a major influence within my family. My husband is physically active and our kids are growing up knowing that exercise is part of what we do, not something we «have» to do and complain about, but something we enjoy doing. The trainers and fellow members of Recreation Fitness are some of the most supportive, encouraging and understanding people that I’ve every worked out with. As someone who struggles with making the best food choices and staying committed to an exercise routine, the various time options for classes, the beautiful outdoor environment in the park and the knowledgeable trainers have made it possible for me to know remain committed and attend classes for nearly three years now. When you aren’t in class, you are missed. When you are not eating your veggies, they’ll offer a recipe. When you aren’t pushing yourself, they’ll give you 5 more.
The gold lining of Recreation Fitness is that they know you, your body and your goals. They want you to succeed and modify their training to help you achieve what your aiming towards. There’s never a time at the end of class, when I don’t look up into the blue sky, with trees blooming o’er head and feel grateful that I’ve found this niche of like-​minded people to work out with and to support one other.
I am about to run my first 10k race in two weeks (6.2 miles) and going from not being able run even a block to this distance, comfortable and proudly, is one of the most exciting milestones of my fitness journey yet. So much of this milestone is attributed to the spark set afire by the trainers at Rec Fit.

I discovered Rec Fit on Amazon Offers last summer. I like to work out at my own pace so was unsure how it would turn out, but I joined since I have three young kids and needed some way to motivate myself around the kids’ needs and schedule. I had no preconceptions about Rec Fit but their commitment and my results have been fantastic.
Important factors for me in working out are; 1) fun and 2) challenge… and Rec Fit offers that. Challenging but not intimidating, because Emily and the other trainers are very knowledgeable to guide and assist you in order to alternate each exercise to accommodate your fitness level and any injury you may have.
Not surprisingly, I have been renewing the membership. Results have been amazing. First my goal was to feel fit and healthy since I turned 40 and felt like I was going down the hill. Now I’m addicted to feeling so great, and I am going to use Emily’s personal training service to go the next step. I trust her for that. She’s compassionate, encouraging, funny, and more… I appreciate her attention and dedication.

I love, love, love Recreation Fitness bootcamp! I joined as soon as my ob/​gyn cleared me after a c-​section birth. In the three months I have been attending, I can honestly say that I am not only stronger, but I feel better about myself.
Emily and Suzi are great trainers. They’re enthusiastic and they switch up the exercises so nothing feels routine. They’re also great at adjusting the workout to each individual. So if you have a medical issue or feel any sort of discomfort, you can let them know and they’ll give you options so that you still get a great workout.
And the kicker? You can bring your little ones, too! You get out of your house so you don’t feel cooped up and your little one can enjoy the outdoors with you!
I go back to work soon, so I hope I’ll get out early enough to continue to go to bootcamp because I seriously love how I feel after a workout with Recreation Fitness!

This is such a fun fitness group and program. I always laugh and always sweat! I am challenged at each session and have discovered aches in muscles I never knew I had. I consider this an investment in my health and have never regretted it.

Emily, Wendy, Luis and Tamara are some of the most amazingly wonderful people I have ever met and oh ya, they are freakin’ awesome trainers too! Recreation Fitness’ philosophy that exercising should be something fun because then you look forward to it and will do it is spot on. Since I stopped playing sports in high school, I have never been into exercising — or I don’t stay motivated to keep up with it. But with the Rec Fitness team, I always feel inspired by the trainers because their demenor and dedication is unlike anywhere else I have gone. They care about their clients on a personal level, they are encouraging, and thoughtful and really super fun to be around. If you are looking for a boot camp to go to, look no further, you will not be disappointed!

I cannot say enough fabulous things about Emily and her team of kick ass trainers!
They create a wide variety of unique and challenging workouts and are incredibly supportive. Whether you are new to exercising, recovering from an injury, or a seasoned athlete, you are guaranteed a great workout that meets your needs and fitness level.
You will work hard, but surprisingly it will feel like play. Sure, it’s a bit painful at times (damn those burpees!), but loads of fun. Trust me, the results will make it all worthwhile!
My advice: Get out and play with Recreation Fitness!!!

I signed up a few weeks ago when summer started. It’s nice to workout outside. Time goes by fast. Each boot camp session is completely different from the prior one and all are challenging in their own way. Email them and tell them you want to try a class — they are so welcoming! You will have a blast getting fitter!

If you are looking for a fun way to workout, while challenging your skill level no matter what level you are at; then this is the work out you are looking for. Believe it or not, they make me laugh and enjoy my workout. even before I’ve had my morening coffee. which is saying a lot.

I am still going to fit camp here. I love it. I have never looked so good in my life. I love Emily and can’t wait to go on Monday morning.

I have worked with lots of trainers in the past and without a doubt, Emily and Chey are THE BEST!!! I came across one of their postcards and thought I’d give it a try! Now (6 months later) I am hooked! This is the greatest program that Long Beach has to offer! The classes are small and personal, and soooo fun!!! The trainers really truly care about helping people become healthy and fit. Also, one of the things I really love is that they work with each individuals level of fitness and they know just how to push you to get you the best results.
I am very into fitness and nutrition, but I always have lots of questions. I email Emily all the time to ask her things and she always writes back right away and gives me so much detail and additional support. These trainers go way above and beyond and I would recommend this class to EVERYONE!!!

Once you take this class you will realize that most of the people who are working out on their own in the gym are just bull#$%@&& – slackers. If you add these classes to your routine then you will be at least guaranteed a couple of serious workouts to your week.
I have taken classes with both Emily and Cheyenna and I am unable to hide in either class. Both are encouraging but neither are going to be in your face yelling at you. I wouldn’t respond favorably to such nonsense.
I am not fond of working out but the different exercises and the laughter makes the time pass quickly.
Emily is a wealth of knowledge and makes herself available to answer any questions you may have. They both have real knowledge and are not just repeating something they heard or read.
Three times a week – 6 weeks, you will see tangible results.
