Pine at 6th

Poor communication

I expressed interest, scheduled a tour and Rick was fabulous. He explained everything thoroughly and stayed in contact throughout the entire process. The complex is very clean and any requests for maintenance are promptly resolved without issues. The common area is beautiful and really great for relaxing alone or with friends. I love my new home close to the beach and the great downtown Long Beach! Highly recommend Pine at 6^th as your new home.

I have been working with Rick since expressing interest in this property. He worked with me on a move in date, went above and beyond to make sure that I had all of the appropriate information and it has been a breeze since moving in. Everyone in the community is nice and the apartment is renovated to PERFECTION. I even had a neighbor see me and my mother struggling with a heavy Ikea item and carry it up to my apartment for us just out of the kindness of his heart. This is a great place to live, the staff is amazing, and it is walking distance to the beach and so much more! Definitely recommend this place!

I haven’t had any problems that weren’t fixed while living at Pine at sixth. Rick and Michael have been awesome and if any issues come around they’ve been there to help. The building now has a Luxer One Locker, which is the best thing for people with Amazon Prime addictions. I’m not going to name names. But, packages are ordered quite frequently from the internets by someone who lives in my apartment.
The only thing I wish they did have was actual grass inside the courtyard for dogs. The «dog park» that the building has is a patch of fake grass. It’s pretty much the dog equivalent of a port-​a-​potty. Smells pretty similar.
Otherwise, it’s a great building! Staff is cool!

I lived here for a total of four year and three and a half years were excellent. There was good customer service with the on site reps and the general look and feel of the building was comparable to other apartment complexes in the area. But the last six months were terrible when the management company switched over to Regis. The two wonderful women that worked in the from t office left and they were replaced with a very unprofessional staff. Packages wouldn’t get delivered, their were multiple break-​ins in the package garage and people stopped picking up after their pets. I actually paid to break my lease so I could move out early. It has been ONE YEAR since I’ve moved out and Pine at Sixth/​Regis has yet to return my security deposit. Even when I showed RICK ALVARO, the on site manager proof of the funds I paid to move out early I still get the run around. They fired the former on site manager JORGE RIOS whom I dealt with and are blaming him instead of looking into the situation. STAY AWAY FROM PINE AT 6TH. They have a high vacancy rate for a reason

i applied for an apartment here and he told me not to do it online and to email him so i can get the special so i emailed to get it on hold right away, 5 days later with no responds, I wanted to follow up and he said the unit has been taken… wonderful job man Rick Arevalo you are amazing, thank you for giving me the heads up not to live here, thank god i know now and not later on when i move in how bad you are at your job

For anyone who actually takes heed of warnings on Unilocal,look elsewhere. The management here will leave you feeling completely on your own.

We have had issues with Pine at Sixth ever since UDR has been management. With the change to Regis, we thought only good can come of it. But oh how wrong we were. Things didn’t improve, things actually got worse. It has been such a disappointment living here and we will make sure others know the truth as well.
Finally the new home my husband and I have been waiting to be built has been completed and we finally get to MOVE OUT OF HERE!!! There are a plethora of reasons why we want to move and why others SHOULD NOT move here.
First…
We have written the management several times complaining about our neighbors who bang against the walls and vacuum at obscene hours of the night, negatively affecting our life. We have asked to be relocated away from these neighbors or for management to take care of the situation, but to this day our neighbors bang away and vacuum until ¾ in the morning.
Second…
Multiple times we have had issues with our packages… We received emails from USPS themselves that packages have been delivered, but when the office is asked about it, they deny the package having been delivered. We were waiting for an urgent package and had to ask the mailman to retrieve the package for us from the office because the office denied it had been delivered (when in actuality, it had been delivered already…) it is a federal offense to keep mail away from the rightful owner. The office claimed at this time that USPS always makes mistakes about deliveries and that sometimes it could take up to 3 days from receiving the email from USPS that we receive a notice that our package has arrived. Odd… Why would USPS send out a false email saying that the package was delivered?
Third…
The residents here do not care for health or safety. Multiple pet owners do not feel the need to clean up after their pets. Urine stains in the hallways, stair wells, and floor in general prove this to be true. Also feces can be found around the building waiting for someone to clean it up. When the management first changed, the maintenance team was steam cleaning the carpet in the halls and stairs every week to keep them clean from irresponsible pet owners, but that did not last long… The management has given up on these residents as well it seems.
Fourth…
Not to be racist but you better love the smell of Indian curry when living here… You will smell it everywhere, all day. We used to enjoy naan and curry, but now we avoid it like the plague. I don’t need the place I call home to be smelling like a curry restaurant all the time.
Lastly…
The management is incompetent and extremely rude. They lie to you about your packages… They lie to you about anything in general.
The numerous current vacancies and unhappy residents stand proof to the fact that Pine at Sixth is not a home for many… They are trying to renovate and clean up, but there is no point if the actual underlying issues are not addressed, like the lack of professionalism in the management team. They lack knowledge and experience to manage a place like this. We have spoken to many residents that are unhappy like us. We only pay rent because we have to… Not because we want to have Pine at Sixth as our home.

Overall a wonderful place to live. Excellent location with easy access to all the bars and restaurants downtown Long Beach has to offer. The staff is friendly, responsive and professional and the manager Jorge has always taken care of any issues that have come up.
You literally don’t even have to change your own light bulbs here. The maintenance team is amazing. They respond to service requests within two hours. Just nice people that care if you enjoy where you live.
Building amenities are nice with good quality laundry and a nice fitness room.

We moved in here with high hopes but didn’t check the area or building out at night. In the day it’s quiet and clean but night nothing but noise. In the end we broke our lease early to get away from dogs barking, babies crying, party goers, police helicopters the list goes on. The girls in the office are friendly but powerless to do anything and never seemed to want to address any issues. We moved to another UDR site as they wanted us to pay nearly 2 months rent despite having a matter of weeks left on our contract. New site is a million miles more professional and any issues we have had are dealt with. If you like downtown then find something a block or two closer to shoreline for safety and cleanliness.

Excellent leasing staff, very friendly, Megan, and Ashley, and excellent at what they do. Maintenance requests are always taken care of quickly, and the rent is reasonable. Ample parking a plus, as well as pet friendly.
However, the surrounding area, the whole downtown city, wasn’t my cup of tea. It’s noisy, always hear police sirens. Weekends, people drunk walking back to their cars, yelling, stumbling. Breezeway, a man was walking, and whistling with his pants down, relieving himself.
Christmas Eve, 11 pm, witnessed two teenagers walking car to car (outside of property), checking to see if unlocked.
Don’t worry about the property itself. It’s well secured, and safe, just the surrounding area, outside, there’s issues.

The staff here, especially office personnel are wonderful! Never had them tell me they could not do something, they work at it until the resident gets what they need (with in reason). Greateasyplacetolive

LOVE living here. I am in a downstairs studio unit, and it’s very spacious! I researched quite a bit before moving in, and you’d be hard pressed to find a better deal in downtown. Not to mention, location, location, location! I really can’t say enough about the positive experiences I’ve had dealing with the leasing office and facility staff. Ashley, Megan, Edgar and his team are awesome — so friendly and willing to help.

I’ve lived at Pine@Sixth since ’06 and happy I found it. I’ve been through the upgrades and construction and am very pleased with the result. The biggest upgrade was replacing the staff. Megan has been fabulous since she arrived. Very responsive, friendly and easy to talk with. Ashley joined more recently and is a joy. This team is the best! The crew have always been great at repairs and very easy to work with. The events that Megan puts on are fun and give everyone a chance to get to know each other as a community. Since we allow pets, there’s the occasional mess, but would expect and it’s not there for long. Great place to live with a downtown feeling and the beach right by. 5 Stars.

I have lived here for the past two months and I absolutely love this community. Prior to living here, I lived in a duplex in Downtown and did not receive any sort of attention from my landlord. Here at Pine, both Ashley and Megan are eager to help with any questions or any issues and they actually FOLLOW-​UP with you to make sure any issues are resolved. You really get the feeling that they genuinely care about you and your experience at their community. In response to previous reviews, I have not experienced any issues with fleas and I have a dog. Fleas love me and I can say that I have walked down every hall here (moving day was fun, lol) and do not have one single bite on my body. And it seems a bit over-​the-​top that a flea problem would cause someone to consider and move to Northern California… really?
I would and have recommended this community to friends and co-​workers because it has been such a positive experience for me!

I have lived in these apartments since March of ’08. Overall they are a nice place in downtown Long Beach to live. There is assigned parking, they accept pets (with a weight requirement), maintenance responds quickly and it is relatively quiet. I moved in while the building was still under construction and was promised a lot of things I never received. However there was different management then and I didn’t get anything in writing so I couldn’t prove it. My loss… But I did get a fairly good rent special at the time.
Since the building has been remodeled and new management in place this would be a building to consider. It is not the most beautiful spot, but that is a matter of preference. The apartments are spacious and it is very close to everything downtown, shopping, restaurants, nightlife and the Passport bus stop is right outside the building, so you don’t have to worry about transportation. It is a very safe building with good security and the current management is pretty fair and knowledgeable. I don’t know how much they are charging for rent these days at that seems to change depending on the economical climate, but I think that applies everywhere. They were competitive when I moved in. Also all of the apartments now come with flat screen tv’s and washer dryer combos, which is included in the rental price. The gym is new and has all new equipment, flat screens on the cardio machines and even a punching bag.
This is a decent place to live, if you are searching add it to the list of options.
