Awesome experience
Although I got a little sea sick, I was surrounded by troopers who coached me through it, and manned to have it last briefly.

HORRIBLE. Bought a Groupon deal for a sail, which I need to do on a specific date for a special occasion. Been calling, leaving messages and emailing them for a week now to schedule it and I’ve not gotten a single response. I contacted Groupon to get them to respond to me and still not a peep after 2 business days. The occasion is this coming weekend and I don’t even know if I will be able to sail. What a dent in my plans. If I don’t hear from them by tomorrow I’m getting a refund.
The number on their Unilocal page (562) 590‑0323 needs to be updated — it’s been disconnected. Their current number is (562) 243‑7133. Their voicemail became full last week (no surprise there, they never pick up) but someone apparently emptied it out over the weekend because it’s fine now. Way to go in managing your voicemail but failing to do the most important part — calling back the customer.
GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER PLEASE, PACIFIC SAILING.

My (now) fiancé surprised me with a proposal here. The captain and crew were amazing! They were very friendly and helped set everything up. The captain even gave us a guided tour of the marina. The boat was really cute too. Would definitely recommend them!

My bday was ⁶⁄₂₉ and WOW my captain «JAMIE» was the MAN!!! He showed us a GREAT TIME! I used the Groupon $ 119.00 for 6 people. I was advised that I could use any boat that was availble and when I got there I was offered the smallest boat.
ALTHOUGH, I wanted a bigger boat IT DIDNT EVEN MATTER b/​c the boat was still awesome. I felt like a queen on my day and they made it EASY to accomplish. THANK YOU GUYS @ PACIFIC SAILING

This sailing experience was AWESOME! Our captain (Rick) was SO patient — he waited a LONG time for us to arrive after we ran into traffic and road closures around Long Beach Pride.
The location is tricky to find — the storefront for the business is now just a shell, so you have to walk further down the dock to actually meet the captain. But he was so accessible and helpful by cell, and completely chill on the boat.
We had beautiful weather and we were lucky to have the boat all to ourselves (party of 4). Great views of the Queen Mary too. Perfect amount of time and the bottle of wine on board didn’t hurt! Would definitely do this again (we used the Groupon this time).

My group really enjoyed our sail. the captain was great and the scenary was great. it was around an hour sail and it was enough for me to enjoy.

We had such a wonderful time out on the water with Captain John for our anniversary!
I was looking for a special way to spend my anniversary with my boyfriend and I love boats and being out on the water. I searched Groupon and Pacific Sailing popped up. I called to make sure our date was available (it was less than a week away) and they said not only could they take us then, they’d just match the Groupon price for us! I get that’s better for them too, but I really appreciated the lack of extra hassle.
We found the place easily on our GPS, and John called us punctually to make sure we’d arrived. He took us out and it was gorgeous– we saw the seals someone else posted a picture of, and John was knowledgeable on landmarks and history and such. The champagne they provided us was lovely and we got to take pictures all over the boat.
I would definitely do this again, and definitely recommend Pacific Sailing to anyone who’s looking for this kind of adventure! Thanks John!

Captain Jamie rocks. He made our sunset ride a blast, explaining the different types of breaks in the water, showing us some seals on the buoy, and giving us an impromptu sailing class.
We had a blast and will definitely try out all of their other services like their sailing classes or boat rentals for parties.
I recommend getting a small boat. It’s private, more intimate and you get a more hands-​on experience with wind sailing when the boat captain lets you take a crack at navigating.

This review is long overdue! Went sailing with 5 other girls for one of my best friends bachlorette party, last August !
The service was top notch and the staff was incredible. Had an amazing time relaxing and watching the sun set! Took fun pictures on the boat and had a glass of champagne! The view was unreal!!! It’s a great getaway with a significant other or just a great girls night out. I definitely recommend Pacific Sails! The captain was so nice and friendly! Didn’t mind taking pictures for us ^^
You don’t see quality customer service a lot these days but they are so wonderful you must go! They gave us an Extra 30 min to look at the view. It was so nice! We listened to soothing music and got to really enjoy the moment. Unforgettable experience!

Delightful sail…
I enjoyed sailing with them. The captain was awesome and allowed me to sail the boat since I had just finished taking my sailing classes. It was such an awesome experience.
Be sure to go out on a nice warm day because it was freezing when I went. The appetizers they had were nice and hit the spot after bring out on the cold water.
The office was a bit hard to find but the people in the bar were nice enough to show us where to go. Everyone was really nice and I’ll most likely go back again.
It is probably way better with a group. It was only two of us and NO it was not romantic it was my mom.

We did the groupon for a 90-​minute sail for two with a bottle of wine for $ 99 dollars. It was so worth it.
Britanny checked us in and was so sweet. She led us down to our boat. Justin was our Captain and he was so relaxed and we could tell he loved being out on the ocean. He was filled with knowledge and even let the two of us steer the boat (our first time ever).
I highly recommend it and we’ll be back groupon or not.

I called and left a message a day before I wanted to make the appointment just to make sure they had availability. I found their information on Groupon because of a trip I was going to take with my friends. I got a call back and was told if I were to purchase the Groupon, it would not hit their system in time for the sail. So they honored the whole package deal for the sunset sail for 4 people and the bottle of wine at $ 139. It was a simple phone call for the transaction and we were set. They even gave us a courtesy call and a text message with directions to their office right before our appointment.
We were actually running late so all I had to do was text and say we were running 10 – 15 minutes late and they were totally understanding about it. It did not affect our total time out in the ocean at all. We had Captain Jack and he was hilarious. My party loved the whole trip and we were having way too much fun. We saw a boat with over 30 people on it trying to fight to take pictures and with screaming children. I was so glad we were not on that boat. We definitely got what we paid for and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

These guys are great. We did a 90-​minute sunset sail for 2 with a bottle of wine at a steal with a $ 99 groupon. (I’ve rented boats before, so I tell you with full knowledge that this is a deal.) The experience was convenient and pleasant from the start, and I would recommend that you snatch this up. We intend on taking sailing lessons with them. Our boat was Patagonia, a 30ft with 2 sails, perfect for a party of 2.
The reservation process was one easy phone call, and our captain Justin was easy going, friendly and very knowledgeable. We had a great time chatting with him and taking in the scenery on the water. Also parking is easy because it’s shoreline village. We spent at least 4 hours there at $ 10 for parking. Just so you know.
Fantastic time-​I will definitely sail again and recommend this experience.

I got a Groupon for the 90-​minute sunset sailing cruise and had a great experience from the beginning. The online reservation system is easy, and they were quick to follow up via email to confirm my date. I got a confirmation call the day of, and everyone I spoke with was really friendly.
For the sail itself, we had captain Jamie. He was right on time and very friendly. He even gave my fiancé a mini sailing lesson. The views were beautiful, and I love that you have the boat to yourself. All of that PLUS a complimentary bottle of wine or champagne for $ 99? Sign me up!

EXPERIENCE: My now fiancée had planned a surprise proposal on a sunset cruise through Pacific Sailing & Catalina Charters. With the help of their staff, he planned a romantic evening we’ll both remember from the moment we say «I do» until the day we *gasp* die.
One of the owners, Stacie, welcomed us upon our arrival and made us feel ‘pumped up’ for our adventure sailing into the sea. Her enthusiasm was simply contagious, and she made sure everything was perfect before we set foot onto a 35 foot sail boat with all the fixings (Lower deck: bed, restroom, seating area, etc.). Sure enough, our experience was perfect! Captain Jamie was an excellent guide — he was extremely friendly, helpful and informative. He sailed us through the beautiful Long Beach harbor «like a boss».
My then boyfriend asked Captain Jamie to take a picture of us at the head of the boat. I was admiring the gorgeous view and before I knew it, he bent down on one knee to pop the question. I still have chills! We were out in the vast, calm sea with the nice cool breeze and the meld of colors in the distance as the sun was setting. I looked around and couldn’t believe the breathtaking view, and the priceless moment for us two.
I highly recommend anyone try sailing out with the Pacific Sailing & Catalina Charters company! Great for couples, families, friends and all occasions (dates, birthdays, anniversaries, bridal showers, day trips, weekend getaway, etc.). I’m definitely coming back, and we’ll be looking into the sailing classes they offer, too.
Why go? Why NOT go???
FYI– If you are concerned about getting motion sickness – have no fear! Sailing is a completely different and serene experience – no loud droning sound of the motor.

Wow, these guys are simply amazing. I contacted Pacific Sailing because I wanted to propose to my girlfriend of 7 years on a sail boat. Not only did they have very competitive prices, but the service was top notch.
Making the arrangements couldn’t be easier. After exchanging several emails with the Pacific Sailing gang, they helped me pick the perfect boat as well as a date and time to pop the question. All my emails were answered extremely promptly and they were always friendly and professional. We decided on a sunset sail on the Macchalis, with champagne and blankets. I wanted to surprise my girlfriend so I built up to the trip by talking about my interest in sailing months in advance. I also planned the trip on the week of her birthday to avoid any suspicion that would arise from planning something so romantic for no reason. I told her we were going to sail and then head to a fancy dinner for her birthday so she didn’t suspect a thing.
On the big day, Stacie, one of the owners, was there to greet us when we arrived. She was extremely warm and friendly and made us feel really welcome. She totally played it cool but at times, it seemed as if she was more excited than I was haha. That’s how you know you are in good hands – I could tell she wanted everything to go as perfectly as I did. Captain Jamie was really cool as well. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Also, he took the time to get to know us and explain things but was never intrusive, which I liked a lot.
I am very pleased with my experience with Pacific Saling and Catalina Charters and would recommend them to anyone interested in sailing, whether you want to celebrate something or if you are just in town and looking for something fun and unique to do. When my wallet recovers from the engagement ring purchase, I definitely plan to contact PSCC for some sailing lessons.

I bought the «Sunset Sail for 6 deal on Groupon» (which included a bottle of wine or champagne) as birthday gifts for my parents, and it was such an amazing experience! When I first saw the boats I was kind of skeptical… they looked a little run down and the cabin smelled funny. But we ended up sitting on the outer portion of the boat the entire time anyways, so it was fine. The trip was about an hour and a half. Our captain, Zach, was soooo friendly and had so many amazing stories to tell us of his adventures at sea and around the world. (His sister, by the way, is that 16-​year old that sailed around the world!)
I completely recommend this for anyone living in or visiting Long Beach!

I bought a groupon which was a 90-​min cruise with a free bottle of wine. I brought my sister with me since we were celebrating my birthday month. The experience was AMAZING. The staff was super friendly and explained a lot of the rules of sailing. I am so glad that they had the groupon I would definitely want to go on another ride again.
