I always knew that I wanted my engagement ring to come from a local craftsman rather than a big name mall chain. I thought my search would be easy since I wanted something plain without any embellishment. As I began my search, I discovered how difficult a simple ring is to come by. After turning to Unilocal and searching through the images I found almost exactly what I had envisioned on Mimo’s page; a basic band with one stone.
The first time I walked in to his store my only intent was to get a ballpark estimate on pricing as I was unsure of what the 3 C’s meant, what cut I wanted, which color gold I wanted, etc. Mimo took the time to walk me through every option and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted.
I ended up buying a stone online and brought it in for Mimo to set. I went in one more time to approve the final 3D rendering and we ended up making several changes to it on the fly — I had no idea there were so many nuances in creating a ring! I really appreciate that Mimo was sure to get my opinion on every little detail before moving forward as there were a few things that I didn’t even think about until he presented me with the options; he is meticulous.
About a week later Mimo called to tell me that my ring was ready to be picked up. The ring in that box was even more beautiful than the one in my mind had ever been, and it was MINE! I could not be happier with the finished product and I will definitely be back for our wedding bands.

I’ve been back to Mimo’s a few times and it had always been a great experience. Most recently, my wife and I took a family heirloom to be fixed in order to pass it down to our son. This bracelet has been passed down for generations and traveled half way across the globe. Needless to say, it’s irreplaceable. Luckily, Mimo went above and beyond and delivered for us. He’s the best!

I have a Victorinox Air Boss timepiece which is very special to me. I’m in construction and beat this watch up bad. After 10 years the number face plate moved. I took it 3 times to different jewelers to have repaired. 2 weeks later it would move again. Being frustrated I put it in a drawer for 3 years. One day I came across it and learned it gained in value by 100%. I then set out to find a jeweler. Mimo’s was close to me so I stopped in. I just love a guy that pulls no punches when he told me what the cost was to repair. It was allot more than I expected to pay. But I trusted Mimo when he told me what the magnitude was to repair it correctly. I didn’t have enough money to have it done. So they took my deposit and understood it could be 5 or 6 weeks before I could afford the whole cost. NO PROBLEM. I’m a retired senior on a fixed income. Mimo understood my financial situation. The result is my watch is like the day I purchased it. I also needed a new leather watch band. I was going to order a cheap version of the original. Because the original was $ 125 + on Amazon. Mimo ordered a original for me at his cost. :-). It seems the older I get the harder it is to find a business that can meet my expectations. Mimo far exceeded that !

I am 100% impressed with the quality of work, and customer service I received from Mimo. I went in to get a silver/​turquoise ring repaired– my ring had cracked in half, and there were chips in the silver from years of use. I never understood why people say «I only go to my jeweler» until I was referred to Mimo. I came to him for assistance on getting my engagement ring and wedding band to sit flush and left with a beautiful piece of jewelry (left after/​right before). Aside from making beautiful jewelery, mimo is very helpful and kind. This is not your Zales type of jewelery, come to him if you want a handcrafted unique piece of timeless jewelery. My fiancé found Mimo through Unilocal when he was looking for a jeweler to make my engagement ring and I’m so glad he did! Mimo does wonderful work, and we loved my ring so much that we had him make my fiancé’s wedding ring and the necklace I’ll wear at our wedding as well. I’m so glad we had them custom made, the quality is world’s above what you would get from a big jewelry store or department store. They are truly stunning.
As a matter of fact, I had already purchased 2 diamond necklaces as options for our wedding at Macy’s when we went into Mimo’s to discuss my fiancé’s wedding ring. I happened to be wearing one of them at the time. I was browsing Mimo’s jewelry selection while they were discussing the ring, and I saw a necklace in the window that was very much like the one I was wearing, but the diamond was bigger and it was clearly superior quality, no visible flaws, while the one I bought at Macy’s had a rather noticeable one right in the middle. I figured it would be way out of our price range, but I asked if I could try it on and was shocked that it was actually totally affordable and right in line with what I paid for the one at Macy’s which was on sale! When we looked at the two necklaces side by side, there was no question. I returned both of the necklaces I’d purchased and had Mimo make me one instead. I will never make a large jewelry purchase from a department store ever again! Mimo is our jeweler now and we’ll go to him for anything we need. He’s also so nice and easy to work with, we have already recommended him to several friends!

The nicest guy, Mimo is a jewel himself. Polite, knowledgeable, and a very talented jewellery artist. The rings he creates are gorgeous. He fixed my clock in no time. I am happy we found him!

I went in to have a couple of links removed from a watch. There were two other customers who’d gone just a little before me. I was greeted as I entered by a man behind the counter. When I explained why I was there, he said he would take care of it and asked if I could about 15 minutes. I’m guessing it was because there were people ahead of me. When the man (I’m also guessing he was the owner) saw that I was just going to wait around, he asked the couple he was helping if it was ok if removed the links from my watch, it would take less than 5 minutes. They were gracious and had no problem with it and I got taken care of within a few minutes.
I got excellent customer service, my watch fits great, and the price was better than I expected! Thanks to Unilocal for helping me find Mimo’s!

brought my watch in for a new battery and readjustments. one of the screws was stripped and it was such a headache. probably took him 30 minutes. he took care of it and got it out. and didnt even charge me extra or for the adjustments on the band. had a good conversation with the guy while he fixed my watch. taught me alot about my watch.

Mimo replaced the stem on my Fossil watch in about an hour for $ 20. I was so relieved, because I love the watch but paid about $ 100 for it a few years ago and was afraid it might not be worth the cost of repairing. He also fixed a couple of other small problems he discovered while he had it opened up at no additional charge. It’s so nice to find a small, independent business like this that provides great service at reasonable rates.

Mimo”s is truly a Gem (no pun intended). I brought in one of my treasured antique diamond rings to replace a stone that had fallen loose and been lost. Mimo was exceptional! His knowledge of diamonds and the setting I presented was extensive! My stone was replaced with an equally gorgeous. diamond of like clarity and quality. the ring had been beautifully polished to its original luster. I have since brought in my other antique pieces and received the same exceptional service! Mimo and his wife, Brenda made me feel so welcomed and valued. I will continue to bring my cherished pieces feeling very confident with the jewelry services they provide.

I just came here at 11:00, 30 minutes after opening time. The store was closed with a sign that said it would be open at 10:30 AM. There was a woman in the store sitting behind the counter inside who didn’t even acknowledge me even though we looked at each other eye to eye. I’ll gladly take my business elsewhere.

I went to Mimo’s yesterday based solely on his 5-​star reviews. I immediately discovered that they were all well-​deserved. He is so knowledgeable about watches. I have an old blue dial Bulova and the clasp on the band kept coming off. Mimo took one look at it and told me I needed to have it riveted.
10 minutes later, I had a functional band for the first time in a decade, a new battery and a new rear gasket, since the previous jeweler over-​tightened the case.
Happily, I am now a new customer of Mimo’s and highly recommend him to everyone who wants their timepieces handled with great care and precision.

One of the small pave pink diamonds from my engagement ring fell off somewhere so I found Mimo on Unilocal to repair it.
Mimo was professional, knowledgeable and very nice. He quoted me a reasonable price and got the work done in 24 hours! He also tightened the setting on all the other small diamonds and cleaned the ring.
N.B. At first, he thought the pave diamonds were just white diamonds but turned out they were pink diamonds. Mimo was able to find a small pink diamond to match the rest. Can’t tell the difference once it’s fixed!

I was looking for a jeweler in the Belmont Shore/​Heights area that would help me determine the value of some old family gold and diamond pieces. Mimo came to the rescue.
He made me feel very comfortable and he was so professional that we are planning on having him craft some special pieces for us.

My search for a real jeweler and artisan is finally over!
I found Mimo on Unilocal as I needed a knowledgeable individual to convert my vintage screwback earrings to a pierced version with special clasps. Not only did Mimo KNOW EXACTLY what I wanted but had me return to confirm it. I picked up the earrings today and they are beautiful!
Because I love jewelry and treasure every piece I own, I so appreciate having found a talented craftsperson like Mimo.

Mimo is my watch guy. He knows watches and gives great service and the shop has good hours. I bought a watch overseas back in January and it had problem keeping time. I brought it in and Mimo was able to diagnosis the problem. The watch company believed it to be a simple fix, but Mimo was able to refute that quickly. Mimo advised me well and I am grateful. If I hadn’t bought a watch, I would have gone to Mimo first.
