Came here the other day to get an MRI done. Scheduling was very easy. They even called a day before to remind me of my appointment. Unfortunately I was told to be there a half hour early to fill out forms that were very redundant and sit in the office. I did not come 30 minutes before because of this fact. I came 5 minutes before I was supposed to be there and had time to fill everything out. I sat in the waiting room for 20 minutes before being called back to undress into a gown before the MRI. I sat in that room for another 10 minutes before being taken back to get the MRI done. The MRI was good. It did take a while and the machine is louder than places I’ve been before, but good nonetheless. The technician was a tall, boisterous man and gave me a CD copy before leaving. The office is ran by two employees, so be prepared to wait and sit. I probably won’t come back to this location, because of the waiting but everything else was good quality I just don’t have time to have a 2 hour MRI done.

Where do I begin? How about from the beginning… The phones were down when I called, so I had to make the appointment through the Newport office. Location: I showed up at dusk, with the slightest fear that I would be jumped or run over, in this very poorly lit area. Then, I met the gem at the counter of the Imaging Center, when she finally came out from her laughter-filled banter in the back after several of my calls to her. Very unfriendly, in general, then, when I asked where the restroom was, she just pointed to a hallway and said go straight, then left, then right. It was a maze! I walked back there and after you go straight there were several lefts and after you choose one, there are several rights, c’mon people! THEWORSTPART: the actual MRI… I get in there, they have me lock my belongings up in a locker with a key, which was fine. Then, I am led to the MRI machine and given a dirty blanket, that left a bunch of debris in my eyes when he spread it out over me, and disposable ear plugs. The whole experience was awful and painful – because I have a hard time keeping my leg straight for long periods of time. To distract myself, since there was no music or anything in the dirty disorganized room, I began to stretch my arms. After 5 or 10 minutes I hear a voice say, «Just one more.» I’m thinking, wow, that wasn’t as long as I thought, I can handle one more. THEN, on the report, the guy said they stopped the MRI early because I couldn’t handle it. The dude just wanted to go home early, he could have asked me if I was okay, or said«can you handle two more. He skipped the last image of the session, and said it wasn’t obtained because I could not handle it. He should have asked me if I could have handled it – I would have said, yes! RESULT: The images were slightly blurry, because he did not secure my knee properly, but overall the report seems readable and mostly logical – which is the only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1. I will take the CD to the surgeon today to hear what he has to say about it. However, if I have to go back to get another MRI I will specifically request not to be sent to this one!
