CWC Emergency Center

Most OBGYN offices are closed on Saturdays. I had an urgent issue and was looking to find a facility to help on a Saturday afternoon. I live in West Hollywood and found CWC online and took the chance to drive over after having a pleasant conversation with the receptionist. I arrived to the office and it was empty, there wasn’t a wait– the waiting area is very clean and welcoming, you can feel a lot of care was put into making an inviting space. The receptionists were very helpful and tried to straighten out an insurance issue. After a short wait I was seen by Practitioner Jennifer Lapointe– she was very calming, attentive and made me feel very comfortable and safe. She discussed my issue with great care and made sure that I left feeling like I had been taken care of. I am not a usual Unilocal writer but I left feeling so taken care of and after trying to see OBGYNs last minute with no luck at all in the LA area I was so relieved I found a place that was so welcoming ! I have nothing but good things to say about CWC and their urgent care. You might wait a little while, but it’s worth it. All staff members are kind and helpful. I’m so grateful to have an urgent dedicated to pregnancy/​gynecological issues!

What a GREAT place to go for women’s care !! I have been going to this center and to Women’s Complete Care for several years and recommend it to all my female friends. Very professional and kind providers. Eager to answer questions and don’t feel rushed during my visits. Dr. Mac is awesome ! Women taking care of women what a wonderful concept!

Today I met an Angel, her name was Dr. Zipkin. She provided me with the absolute best care experience. I discovered the true meaning of patient centered care during my appointment. Dr Zipkin displayed extraordinary expertise. I am a nurse and also hold a Ph.D., therefore, I consider myself skilled at selecting a high caliber healthcare Provider. Dr Zipkin was extremely kind, considerate and incredibly knowledgeable about the latest evidence based practices, regarding women’s health. Her care is the epitome of holistic care, as she is able to attend to the mind and the body. I can’t praise Dr Zipkin enough. If you want to experience care that you can trust, which is also compassionate, go to Dr Zipkin. Your fears, angst and health issues will become no more.

Doctor MacKovic and her wonderful team of nurses are some of the kindest, hard working, and passionate individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting.
I have had two procedures to treat my endometriosis. One at LBMH by a Complete Women Care surgeon and the other by Dr. MacKovic in CWC’s surgical center. I have never been treated so kindly by doctors, nurses, and anesthesiologists in my entire life.
I thank God every day that I found this amazing team to help get me through some of the hardest months of my life.
If there was a score above five stars, I would give it.

This office is very clean and nice. The Doctors and NP’s are also very good and nice. The front desk staff has always been very nice as well. Last time I was here was in October and again last week. This time there was a different receptionist (Lauren) and she is rude. No smile just an attitude face. I have never had an attitude with any of them but this new girl needs to be a lot more friendly. She’s the first person you see when you get there and if you’re not feeling good she should be happy with a smile and and make you feel comfortable.

Having no insurance at the time and no appointment, I was searching desperately for a place to have my swollen, sore, inflamed breast looked at, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, when many other emergency centers were closed. They could see the desperation on my face and took me in within minutes. Dr. Zipkin soothed my mind with her kind eyes and words. She gave me the worse care scenario in a very kind yet matter of a fact way. And even though I didn’t have answers to what was wrong, I left feeling reassured everything was going to be ok and with a solution plan. I really appreciate and respect the staff and Drs here. Thank you

I’ve been a patient at CWC for years, but this review is just for the Emergency Center. For the most part, I have had positive experiences here. Sometimes the wait can be long if you are just a walk-​in, but that would be true at any urgent care, and I think I haven’t spent more than 2 hours there total, including seeing the doctor. All the doctors there are great, and I have always been taken care of when I needed to see a doctor ASAP. I also love that my visits are billed like ER visits, which is easy for my insurance.
I am knocking off one star because this is the place you go to if you want your labs done on a evening during the week, or on a weekend, and my last lab experience wasn’t great. I had to do my glucose (gestational diabetes) test for my pregnancy. I went in on a Saturday morning around 10am. All the waiting rooms were full. I signed in for lab-​only and rang the bell. I also told the receptionist I needed lab work. 30 minutes later, I hadn’t seen anyone. This particular blood test requires you to wait 1 hour after drinking a sweet drink, so I would have to wait another hour once I finally did see someone, and I hadn’t eaten much (another requirement of the test). I asked the receptionist what was going on, and she said that their only lab tech was busy helping with pre-op…she went back to check on the wait, and told me at least 30 more minutes! Why do they have only one person there to do blood draws, and that person is helping with pre-​op??? Makes no sense. Meanwhile, no one in the waiting room was being seen very quickly, so the receptionist comes out and offers us chocolate, tea, or water… two out of those three things aren’t great for pregnant women. Figures. When I finally saw the lab tech, she just had me drink the drink in front of her. I could’ve done that when I walked in and saved an hour! While I was waiting in the waiting room for patients getting operations, I was sitting next to a woman that was waiting for a scheduled surgery, which was already delayed 45 minutes, and she couldn’t eat or drink anything. I am not saying my experience on that day was typical, but it is an experience worth sharing.

Extraordinary! Great team of medical professionals. Unbelievably clean facility, a bonus! My stomach is flat! Had a bad pregnancy and a fibroid about the size of a cantaloupe causing me health problems. I had immediate attention from the nurses and anesthesiologist. They were explicit and thorough about everything I was going to experience. They made me feel so comfortable, surprisingly, I felt no fear going into surgery. The anesthesiologist was awesome! He took my pain away as I was prepped before surgery and after, very efficiently.
It was my first time having surgery there. Dr Macovick and Dr Mueller personally spoke with my insurance to help my request get a quick response to help give me immediate care, considering my condition. The whole process from the time I met them to the time I was taken in for surgery was quick. They made me feel important with their attention, kindness and care. The food was great, I had snacks:), great conversation, attention, assistance and a private area with them only a few feet away watching over me, overnight. I felt safe and it felt like I was on vacation, relaxing:)). I was very comfortable! 5 stars!!! Totally recommend this place. It was a blessing I learned of them in time.

This is my second experience here at the surgical center and words can not express my gratitude. Dr. Mackovic is an angel who genuinely cares for her patients. Through my procedure and recovery she has treated me and continues to treat me like her own:) She has a superb team who meet our expectations.

Surgical Facility: Immaculate! Check-​In area is inviting just like a living room. And the surgical room is cozy, personal with top of the line equipment & care.

I’m at the end of my pregnancy and the staff at CWC have led me through my journey so far. I have felt very welcomed and comfortable here.
All the medical assistants and doctors are very friendly. Jennifer has been my favorite medical assistant to see. She was very helpful in getting the proper breast pump paperwork through to my insurer & always answers any questions I may have. Every time I see her she lets me in on what my doctors visit will be like and what to prepare for the following visit.
The doctors at Complete Women Care are also great. Zipkin is always in a cheery mood. She gives me a hug after every visit. The rest of the group is just as friendly. Dr. Lin, Mueller, King and Rouhani always make sure I am comfortable and take their time answering any questions or concerns I may have. I come here because it feels personable and I get proper care and attention. I know I can call anytime and have any concerns answered.
My only complaint would have to be the handling of my disability paper work. They never faxed it. I asked twice, was told they faxed it twice and my employer did not receive it until I faxed it myself. I’m taking away a star for this. Other than that, CWC has been great through my entire pregnancy.

Have to say, I am 1 week post op for a complete hysterectomy. Feeling pretty good, out and about in public again. I wanted to say that the process was as good as it could get. So much cleaner and quieter than a regular hospital. Everyone spoke english, not chatting in front of me foreign languages about my care. The nurses were awesome and on top of it all nite, as I was not able to leave the same day. My husband was allowed to stay overnite, the staff set up a bed for him near me. I even got these really clear photos of my organs so I could see how bad they were, not the least bit gruesome either! Please check them out if you need women reproductive care, you will be impressed.

This was the best healthcare experience I have had anywhere in my life, hands down.
After being told a very large research hospital in my area wouldn’t even see me for 2 – 3 months to diagnose my problem, I searched online for emergency OB/​GYN places in Southern California and found CWC. When I had irregular menstrual issues, they saw me quickly on a Saturday afternoon, did all of my blood and lab work on site and even gave me the ultrasound there.
I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing the service was, from the friendly and efficient and knowledgable staff (special shoutout to Jennifer and Elma for being super great and staying late with me) to the clean and inviting waiting room and exam rooms (they even showed rom coms!). However, if I could give 10 stars to anyone in the office, it would be Dr. Mackovic. She is incredible. I was scared and having major issues with bleeding. She was so friendly and calm and explained to me what was going on and what the course of treatment would be. And she told me that if I didn’t have improvement overnight to come back in on Sunday and she would make the procedure happen that day. Warm, knowledgable and wonderful don’t even begin to cover the amazing woman who is Dr. Mackovic.
My husband and I hadn’t eaten all day so as I was in the triage room getting fluids, the Dr. even brought us cupcakes and Elma gave us juice from her secret stash. Seriously, it was like being at a spa while I had a cool and refreshing saline IV to get my hydration back up. (Thank you to Jinwen for making me comfortable and getting that going!)
On Sunday morning, I was having the same issues so I drove an hour-​plus again to the emergency clinic when it opened at 1, as Dr. Mackovic recommended, and I had my procedure done. Again, the whole office staff was wonderful, helped calm me down and attended to me quickly.
The surgical center is right there on site, so I was able to walk right over. Ian was the first nurse who took care of me and he was awesome. He made me laugh and feel comfortable considering it was the first time in my life I was having surgery. Ditto for Chao and Rosa.
Dr. Presley, the anesthesiologist, was equally wonderful. He explained everything clearly and made me feel at ease in mere minutes. He told me the course of treatment and what would happen in the OR, down to the backup plans if needed. They even gave me an eye mask with lavender oil in it to help me relax and sleep.
After I woke up, Dr. Presley and Dr. Mackovic came and attended to me and told me what happened and what to expect. I was even cleared to go to Disneyland the next day. We talked about my follow-​up appointment. Ian took care of me and explained what I needed. When there was a mix-​up with one of my prescriptions being at the wrong pharmacy, Ian took care of it so I could head back home and not wait around Long Beach, but pick it up closer to my home.
Thank you so much to everyone at the CWC, you do amazing work! And I hope they are able to open more OB/​GYN emergency and all-​in-​one centers to help people like me. It is a brilliant idea and this group is amazing.

I’m so glad I came here! Obviously going to the Ob/​Gyn is uncomfortable for most women, especially the first time you’re meeting a new doctor. I love that they are open late, which is a huge bonus for me. The office is comfortable and clean. I also like the online patient portal so I can maintain appointments, see lab results, etc. The best part of my experience was Dr. Mueller. She is AWESOME! I’ve never had an ob/​gyn that was just normal and friendly. She was so helpful and made me feel very relaxed removing that embarrassed feeling you usually experience in these situations. I’ll definitely be coming her as long as Dr. Mueller is here!

Today I had an appointment with Dr. Rouhani for a well-​woman exam. She is absolutely perfect! I was a bit nervous, but her pleasant manner and professionalism made an uncomfortable and dreaded exam very tolerable. I highly recommend Dr. Rouhani-​she is an amazing doctor! The medical world needs more doctors just like her!

I have had nothing but amazing service with the 101B office at complete women care. Not only is Dr. Macovic an incredible Dr her staff is also very friendly. I had a surgery scheduled — a surgery that I desperately needed. My insurance company initially denied it stating it wasn’t medically necessary. However both Estela Guzman and i fought them. Estela went above her call of duty as did Dr Macovic. The urgent appeal was filed by Estela upon my giving her my entire medical history. Every single day she would call the insurance company to stay on top of them. In the end… We came off victouris. The insurance company approved it and I had the surgery on the 1^st of September as originally scheduled. Dr Macovic did a great job on my surgery– very minimal pain. I’m now having a great smooth recovery. I totally recommend this location to all my female friends, my sisters and to my mother.

It took me a little while to write this review because I really wanted to like this place. I had an emergency and possible fatal issue and after searching for a good place to go other than the Hospital ER I found this place. Let me start off by saying the office staff is extremely nice and helpful and the office is very inviting!
The issue I have is I have good insurance and have never had such a high co-​pay. Aside from this they billed my insurance a $ 4,200 and all I had done was blood work and an ultra-​sound. The lab-​work which they billed my insurance for them taking my blood along with the lab processing fee $ 260 (I could have avoided half this by going directly to the lab its self). The ultra-​sound was billed at $ 375 which is completely resemble! However, the actual visit they billed out at $ 3,600 this is crazy! This amount is more than the Hospital ER (which I was trying to avoid). Had I known this was going to be this much I would have went directly to the lab and went to the hospital.
Just beware of how much this place costs. Next time I will ask up front what they are going to bill out for before I am seen. Lesson defiantly learned and I hope this helps other to be aware of these things so they don’t end up in the same situation as I am.

This is my second time coming to this location for lab work. Alexa, the lab tech, was very helpful and made me feel comfortable when doing my bloodwork.
Also, the receptionist was very friendly for early morning! I’ve been to other offices where the receptionists were not the friendliest so this was a pleasant surprise. :)

I left a review before but I have to leave a new one since the service at the GYN emergency office is HORRIBLE. The past 3 times I have been here the wait for a scheduled appointment is ridiculous (30 – 45 minutes past your scheduled appointment). The gals in the front are not helpful when you ask them why it has been 30 minutes since your appointment and you still haven’t seen a doctor when there is no one else or 1 other person in the waiting room. Afternoon appointments at this office are a BAD idea.

I have had two good experiences, fearful for having two high risk pregnancies both weren’t easy but thanks to the staff, Priscilla at the front desk and the MA’s Claudia, Sandra and Danielle who were always attentive concerned and caring made of every visit a pleasant one concerned as if I were part of their family.

My primary care doctor referred me to Complete Women Care when I was looking for a gynecologist. When I went to Long beach office for the first time, I was very impressed about the warmth of the office and front desk staffs.
when I met Dr. Gloria Rouhani for the first time, I was impressed with her professionalism and warmth.
She takes time to talk to you and listen to your issues with sincere concern.
She makes you feel very comfortable. I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am to have found her! This easiness of patient and doctor relationship is very important to me! If you are looking for OBGYN, this is the place! I definitely recommend it!

I’m a new patient to this office, and made an appointment for a general consultation to ask about some birth control options (nothing too complicated or time consuming).
I had to wait about an hour after my scheduled appointment time to be taken into an exam room. I understand that at most doctor’s offices, you might have to wait a little while as they process paperwork and what not. But an hour really is too much… It was explained to me that the reason for my wait was because of an influx of walk-​in patients. I understand that some of these ladies were in pain and wanted to get things checked out — but the office staff need to better organize themselves in order to handle this kind of situation. It is bad for business to make a patient (WITH an appointment) wait for an hour for an appointment that took 15 minutes total.
However, the nurse (Sandra) that helped me was very courteous and apologetic about the wait and she did make my experience much more pleasant. She helped things go more smoothly (and quickly) as she did my initial vitals, and even gave me a little $ 5 Starbucks giftcard as I left to say thank you for being patient about the wait. My experience with her definitely changed things for the better.
Additionally, the Nurse Practitioner that saw me, Jennifer, was very nice, thorough, and helpful. She answered all my questions and was very friendly.

This is my first pregnancy and I was referred to Complete Women Care by a family member. Except for one appointment of very many that I have had with CWC so far, I have been seen very quickly for my routine OBGYN pregnancy appointments. Last week I had a scare and called the nursing line. I was recommended to come into Emergent Care. I arrived 30 minutes later and the nurses already had my records pulled and helped me right away. I was informed of the emergency room similarities, that my insurance will note this as emergency room situation but that their rates are lower than typical ERs. I found it all acceptable and I saw PA Kim, and briefly saw my OB, Dr. Lin, since she was in the office that day. My husband and I left very satisfied.
I also have been here to see Alexis who drew my blood for my one hour glucose and my three hour glucose tests. She does a pleasant job of causing me no prick pains, finding my vein easily, and carrying a pleasant and professional conversation while getting my tests done. I used to be fearful, but when I see Alexis, I know I’ll be taken care of. Thank you, Alexis!
