Saw an Auto Ad for an gorgeous Audi A4. Made contact with him, and we promptly met up so i can see the car. It was as clean as the picture posted in the ad. He also let me test drive the vehicle with no questions asked.
I eventually told him that I had to talk it over with my big boss to make sure the purchase was kosher. His asking price was very competitive and he was a pleasure to talk to. He is very informative and knows his car stuff. I would definitively recommend to my friends and family.

I have had awful luck with used car salesmen and am of the opinion that there are good reasons for all the jokes and cliches surrounding the profession.
However with McGrath Pacific Auto I can honestly say that I was pleasantly surprised by not only the car itself but with the service. When I emailed Shaun to say that I was interested in a car he was flexible with the time to view it. He willingly provided all the information about the car’s history– good and bad. The price was just right for me and I never once felt pressured into the buy.
Months later I can say that the car is still in fantastic condition. The advice given to me about how to care for the vehicle has been extremely helpful and overall I can’t recommend this dealer highly enough!

I find it very hard to believe that the previous review is referring to the right dealership. I’ve always been skeptical of used car salesman. Before I met Shaun, I’d never felt comfortable purchasing a used car (forget leasing). Here are the reasons I drove 30 miles to McGrath Pacific, and the reasons I walked away with an amazing 2004 Toyota Prius.
MCGRATH ISN’T FLASHY
The website is simple and modest, very mom n’ pop. As soon as you get to talk to Shaun on the phone he talks about how he runs this business because he loves to collect cars, fix them up and sell them to those who need them most.
LOCATION IS OUTSIDE OF CENTRAL LA
Los Angeles is one giant scam. Dealers want top dollar for their cars. Long Beach is a much more relaxed, slow paced, area. It was very easy to try out the car on the streets and make my way back to the city afterwards.
MCGRATH IS FLEXIBLE WITH LOAN PAYMENTS
As great as the deal was, I still couldn’t afford it out of my pocket. McGrath suggested a handful of loan banks and let me put down a small deposit while I waited to be approved. A lot of dealers will give you a 5 day holding time before they beef up the deposit. Shaun was very helpful when I hit a bump with my bank. All was resolved in the end!
AUTOMOBILE SAVVY
Shaun knows his vehicles and the parts that make them run. We went through a detailed inspection together, and Shaun wasn’t afraid to hold any information back. He even went extra steps to repair damage that had been done before he purchased the vehicle, for no extra cost. I was very happy with that!
SUPER FRIENDLY!!!
Most chill car salesman I’ve ever met. Period. If you’re a good enough customer, he’ll help you install a surf rack on your car and invite you to surf with him at the beach :)

I am looking for a new to me car and stopped by this awful dealership on my hunt for a car. I called the dealership for a car that was posted online and he told me to come by and take a test drive. Ten minutes later I was at the dealership and miraculously it was sold by the time I came in!!! When I asked why he told me it was there when it obviously was probably never there to begin with he tried to sell me a WAY over priced car that was the wrong color, make and model. When I said I was leaving he started to get pushy and as I got in my car he called me an A$$-Hole. WTF. I would not go here if they paid me to take a car of their lot!!!

I have bought 2 trucks and a camper van from McGrath Pacific Auto Sales over the past 4 years and being a small business I need reliability and no lemons. My last truck I bought was a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan with a low mileage of 89 thousand miles. I have been delighted with it, I had the odd problem that comes with used vehicles but it’s never dripped a drop of oil and the engine is in top shape. I have been hugely impressed as I bought the same vehicle that was half the age and it was a complete clanker sold to me by some dubious lowlife used car salesman in Orange County who failed to mention the gas gauge was toasted, leaving me running out of gas on the 105 freeway in the fast lane and nearly getting killed. That douchebag never returned my call after multiple times. I will never buy a truck or car from anyone ever again, so if your looking for a great deal, excellent customer service and honesty, McGrath Pacific is the company for you.
