If I could give it a zero I would!!! Be Warn DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE!!! I was in a dire situation and purchase a car from this place without first reading the Unilocal reviews. My fault, but I never thought I would have all theses nightmare situation with these people. As soon as I got it home the car started falling apart. The doors and locks wasn’t working. They sold me a car with a key that didn’t work and made me pay for a replacement! WTF!!! David the owner is liar and a cheat, he will look you right in the eyes and lie. I overheard one of their mechanic saying they don’t even know how to work on Mercedes Benz. Since purchasing this car CASH in November, I’ve brought it back numerous times for repair. Haven’t even driven it a thousand miles yet! After leaving it December 21 because the car just stop while I driving, I told them to fix all the other problems with car. Door not opening, windows not working and the list goes on. I finally get the car back after more than two weeks and now the locks are not working and car is leaking fluids. This place is a joke and they sell junk cars so you keep coming back to them for repairs. I wish I had read the reviews first, and I would never had to deal with theses criminals. All that wasted money and time I can’t get back. How someone like this can stay in business is beyond belief. I don’t want anyone else to go through the nightmares I have, you have been warned!!! Now I’m stuck with a shitty junk car and I can’t do anything about it! Do not trust this place!!!

So this is an inbox message I received from «FAYE T» whom I will ASSume must have some type of equity or ownership in this circus they call a company. The subject line they tagged me with was: «UNEDUCATED».
I find that verbiage funny especially if they’re going to parade their paragraph with a slur of «UR» for your.
And the bantering continues; «U r unappreciative cheap shit.» Answer this question. When does a customer need to be in a position of appreciation if we are the ones bringing them business? Get your fucking grammar right. You should be happy that I stopped in. It’s my right to spend my money where I want. Me being cheap isn’t the problem. If your team didn’t offer slum lord sales tactics I might have forked out some extra cash.
And here’s the rest of their bullshit message. «Get ur info right. What is ur vehicle worth it, [punctuation and grammer help needed here — they offer these types of courses at LBCC] of course instead of putting ur money in repair he suggest it [I’ll repeat that English courses are available at LBCC] to buy a car with out of pocket expenses that wouldn’t give value to ur car in the future. [Either way the value of the car wasn’t the issue — your repair consulatations and upselling techniques are. Wait since your selling junk cars is that consider upselling or junkselling?] Take ur car to junk yard next time for repair. Your new business name should be JUNKYARD sales.

Great mechanics and car sales! I’ve been coming here for years, gotten numerous repairs and bought to cars. I absolutely refuse to go to any other mechanic. The manger is VERY flexible (being that I’m a college student) and has never mis-​quoted me or done a bad repair. I’ve recommended the shop to family and friends and never got a negative review back. I would recommend this shop to anyone especially if your in need a good mechanic or car sale!

I must agree with Janz — I have been going to Chet’s for two years now, and have been very happy with the quality and customer service. I started going there on a recommendation from another teacher who was a satisified customer (too bad he didn’t get on Unilocal) and discovered the prices are GREAT. I was quoted $ 1200. at a dealership for a procedure on my Camry, and Chet’s did it for just over $ 800. I’m happy.
This year I purchased a car from him. Again, very happy with the purchase and the treatment from David and his wife, Fay, the owners. He even talked long distance to my brother on the phone about the car before purchase!
No complaints, and I plan to keep my business there. I decided to write this because I was looking at another Unilocal rating and decided to look at Chet’s. Very surprised at the negatives, but sometimes problems are NOT due to the previous repair… just saying.

I am very happy about the whole experience with this family run business. I initially came in for a transmission service, but they convinced me they could do some other work we needed done. We are very careful about our cars. We depend on our cars to get us to our jobs. We can not afford mistakes made. The people here were affordable, accurate, and polite. The guy who did the work, was well experienced on our 2008 Chrysler 300. He was very good about the care and keep of our auto. we brought it in, and they did a great job. I am glad I chose them to do this work. I will remember them in the future, also. thanks Sir.

Avoid at all costs! I went in explaining clearly that my car had a camber alignment issue. The car now has tire wear due to camber alignment not even that much late and they stated they never fixed that and it’s not in warranty and wouldn’t even inspect it or help me out at all just simply said too bad. Way to hold your service accountable… Horrible establishment. Just run away from there.

I Love and trust this place. I have been going here for a few years already and every time they are honest and the job gets done. yeah prices are a bit steep but what auto repair isn’t. The work they do on the car is worth the prices and guaranteed. David is a sweet heart. He’s compassionate and honest and that’s why I keep coming back.

I was having trouble with starting my ’84 Toyota Pickup, Chet’s diagnosed the problem and «fixed» it. I was able to drive it home, and shortly thereafter it wouldn’t start, clearly it wasn’t fixed. I returned to Chet’s to see if they could actually fix the problem and was duped in to dropping more cash. Ultimately I had to get rid of the truck as even after multiple trips to Chet’s for service it would not start. I shouldn’t have been so naïve, but I guess I learned a lesson.
Don’t go here. Plain and simple.

I have taken my Kia SUV several times and I have always had good experiences. They even have a driver take me home and pick me up when ready.

My boyfriend purchased a 1997 Audi from David @ Chets Auto Sale with high hopes that the used car he financed would be a sufficient, reliable car. Turns out as soon as he drove off the lot on Oct. 10^th 2011, right after signing the contract agreement, the power locks did not work. Needless to say this has been the first of many problems. In the last 30 days, the car has stopped while driving, the gears on the electrical panel flickered, there has been a leak in the gas pipe (which eventually stop the car from moving while on the street AGAIN). There is no reason a «good working car» (as David stated prior to signing the contract) should have multiple problems in less than 4 weeks! This was the last straw. On November 5^th 2011, we decided to take the car to our personal mechanic instead of David. Because the first time my boyfriend took the car in to explain the problem @ Chets, David stated «nothing was wrong with the car, but maybe it turned off because it was a hot day.» We ended up getting the car towed by AAA to our mechanics’ because it would not drive. My mechanic was very disgusted in the condition the used car was in. He found multiple problems, and stated that David’s shop should be responsible for repairs and to take it back to David. He advised us next time we buy a used car anywhere, to have him examined the car first. Which we should have done in this case for sure. I called and asked David if he replaced the car with a new transmission why would there be so many problems & he said «I never once told you guys that, I wouldn’t have replaced the transmission, that costs $ 5,000-$ 7,000 dollars. This is not a new car, you will have problems… you drove 1,000+ miles in the first month what do you expect.» First off, on the paperwork the ONLY PROBLEM STATED PER DAVID was an odometer reading problem. (Which explains the 1000 miles/​month, I doubt we drove that much, especially with a faulty car.) Either way second off, David said it’s a «great car that is working» yet the same day we could not even unlock the doors. When my boyfriend questioned him about the transmission, he told him it was a «rebuilt transmission», then later changed his mind and told me the only thing replaced was a transmission pump. Never met a man who changed his story so much. How do you go from a new transmission, to a rebuilt transmission, to a transmission pump. Did you not think we would see conflicting parts in your story? It is now November 12^th 2011 and the car is still in the shop. David mentioned all repairs will be out of pocket expenses and he has yet to call us back with the estimate. I am filling a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, (in which they have an F rating by the way) and I see according to Unilocal… that we are not the only customers that have had problems here with being mislead. Sadly.

I’m sorry that this place has gotten such bad reviews. I have only had one negative experience there after taking my own personal vehicle and my previous work vehicle there for many many years. My wife and mom have also taken their vehicles there with no problems.
They complete work in a timely manner and their prices are very reasonable. Jesse always remembers me from the very first time I was in there and has always been very professional even when I have been distrustful of certain situations. In the end, he was proven to be telling me the truth and they have never done anything wrong to me.
The only issue I did have was that one time they were short handed and I was trying to get a quote for something and Jesse was off for the week and someone else was answering the phone and even though he told me twice that he would get back to me within a very specific time frame he never called me back even after I called the second time.

I wish I could give this place negative stars. My mother in law purchased a Volvo from this shop, as part of their business is car sales. She bought the car from David, the owner of the shop, who made her a lot of pretty promises. He told her that they had checked the car out and it was in very good condition and that they would even guarantee that by offering a discount on any maintenance it would need down the road. He assured her that they had everything that they needed to service the car.
Fast forward a month later, and the throttle body needs to be replaced. When this part goes bad, the car shudders and idles roughly. We noticed the car doing this immediately after she purchased the vehicle, but tried to troubleshoot it as something less serious at first. When that didn’t work, she took it back to Chet’s since they had told her that they would do all the maintenance.
WHAT A NIGHTMARE. She brought it in on a Saturday and was told that she would be able to pick it up that day. The day went on and there was no call from Chet’s. Finally, a little before they were scheduled to close she called them to check and was told that no, they weren’t going to have it ready by the end of the day. Monday comes around and again, she is told that she should have it by the afternoon and again, no dice. It is now Tuesday and she is now being told that they have to take it to the dealer to get serviced and there will be an extra fee for this — on top of an additional delay.
David and Jesse have been very rude to her over the phone and when she has tried to voice her concern over the fact that this has taken much longer than they said and is going to cost much more than anticipated, she gets railroaded and told that «they aren’t miracle workers» and «she is taking too much of their time» (No, really — they said that) At this point, she is very upset so I offer to talk to them as I am a (semi)neutral observer. I get on the phone with David and am told that he does not have time to deal with this and she can either have them fix it or take the car but she is too high maintenance and he can’t deal with her — AND THEN HANGS UP ON ME.
When did this become acceptable behavior? These people not only sold her a car that they claimed was in excellent shape, but then reneged on all of the promises they made her and then treated her like crap. We will never be back there.

I took my car to this place after taking it to the Smog Stop across the street. I knew what was wrong with my car, it needed an 02 sensor. They told me that I didn’t know what I was talking about, and that the place accross the street is not qualified to say what’s wrong with the car. So I foolishly left my car there, they did another smog check for 50 dollars, and made up a list of repairs they could «start with». I paid the 50 and left. Later I went to another smog place and it passed just fine, no repairs needed. These guys are scam artists and will rip you off any chance they get. DO NOT go there, or you will get ripped off too! They should be shut down.
