History

Established in 1961.

In the 1920’s Simon Schneider emigrated from Russia to Los Angeles. Within months, he had opened a fine jewelry store in downtown Los Angeles and had built the beginnings of a 3-generation Schneider Family jewelry legacy. By 1945 his youngest son Dave opened his own jewelry business in downtown Long Beach, California. In 1961 he relocated the business to it’s current location off of 3rd street in a purpose built building. Mark Schneider Fine Jewelry still serves the Long Beach area from this same brick building by Dave’s son Mark. In 2001 that Mark noticed a lack of originality in one jewelry field in particular, engagement rings. Deciding to go against the grain and create something unique by designing a fresh and contemporary line of engagement rings. Just like his award winning colored gemstone jewelry designs, his engagement rings are clean and flowing, with nods towards architecture, furniture design, and nature. Each ring is truly a work of art for each bride to proudly wear.

Business Owner

Award winning designer Mark Schneider specializes in contemporary designs. His philosophy of jewelry is to create designs as wearable art. While earning his Bachelor of Science degree from California State University Long Beach, where he studied art and jewelry design. He enjoyed working with clay and metal, transferring that love to jewelry design. With his education, experience, and family history in jewelry design and manufacturing he feels fortunate to have the opportunity and ability to create jewelry with the finest rare gemstones available. Mark is involved with every part of the process, from conception of his award winning pieces to the final touches that make his jewelry unique and distinguishable. It’s this commitment to quality that encourages museums and people from all over the country to contact Mark for custom design. He is one of the few living designers to have a piece of jewelry on permanent display in the Smithsonian Institution Gem and Mineral Hall.
