Mail Boxes

I’ve been going here for years — lived in the area for 14yrs — it’s the only game in town for mailing anything that’s not USPS and they know it. I say that because more often than not the customer service is ‘moody’ at best… let’s just say the employee base is a bit rough around the edges and most of the time who cares if that’s they way a person chooses to walk through their life. But here’s the deal; if you don’t own the business you need to put on your good behavior hat while servicing the customers that keep your bosses business in business. Not too smart to let your personal issues and lack of manners drive customers away that you’ve and have patronized the business for 10+ years. I could’ve done without hearing an employee say «holy crap» while a woman and her kids were in line and another gruff woman act like 4 people in line was 30 and be rude to a woman who was dropping off a pre-​packaged & labeled UPS box.
Not a cool outing… seriously considering the Kinko’s option on PCH is a better bet next time.

great one stop shop for all your postal needs. see cassy. she is great and does a wonderful job… immediate service… usually no waiting… very friendly staff… and a great location in the shore…

I needed to get a legal document notarized but I was afraid to come here because of the negative customer service reviews. I came anyway because its so convenient. My gym is located right on 2^nd street and I just walked to it after my workout. Although it was busy & full of people, I got in the short line and I was helped right away by a very pleasant women named Martha. I was in and out in a jiffy. She was nice & had a great attitude. What else can I ask for? No complaints here. Martha is a really asset to the store. Also, I was told they had a notary available till 6:30pm today which is the Friday after a major holiday.

If someone were to ask me: What is the worst place on 2^nd st. I would quickly respond with Mail Boxes Etc.
Unfortunately, they are the only place around to provide shipping service. Horrible customer service, the employees are mean. Sometimes I think they just pull fees and prices out of thin air. Everytime I stop by, they seem to charge me for something else, and I say: Its not worth it to complain, just pay it.
One time, I had a package that must have weighed 2lbs, but it was in medium sized box. They told me I could not drop it off with a pre-​paid sticker without paying $ 5 for oversized? — Thats double what it cost me to ship it…
I do not need to shop here, or use this service, but unfortunately I have to. It would be better if they went out of business, so another company can validate opening up a FedEx/​UPS site locally near 2^nd st.
There is another FedEx location down PCH that is wayy better. The people are nice, reasonable, and fair priced. Go there if you can, and have the 5−10mins to drive down.
I hope they go out of business sometime soon.

I don’t know what anyone is griping about. I own an eBay store, and buy bulk shipping supplies elsewhere but I go to them EVERY TIME I need an odd size, need to fax, or have a problematic item to pack and ship. They are always friendly, helpful, courteous, and professional. I recommend them to other Long Beach residents all the time.

Save yourself the headache and go anywhere else!!! The staff are miserably slow and inept. The owner is no help and obviously doesn’t care. The reviews on this bis are very accurate and all say the same — extremely poor service. Owner doesn’t care. I will NEVER return to this miserable place again! Next time, I’ll go to the US Post Office just a few blocks down.

I was hoping that the rating function would allow for me not to award this business any stars. This business is now named Shore Business Center and it has to same owner, manager and employees. This business is unethical, the owner is bitter and has the worst customer service. Everyone in this center needs some kind of love.

the worst, i wish i could give them no stars, the old lady who ownes this place is beyond rude! they over charge, & charge for everything, even a small amount of tape (not that i dont want to pay for what i use, the owner was just so rude)
dont give greedy, mean people who dont want to contribute to a pleasant society your $$$$$, and believe me you will be giving it up there!

i strongly suggest out of the box on redondo ave & 4^th, if you live in the shore it’s bit of a drive but will be worth it to be treated kindly.

Everytime I go into this place I get some sort of attitude from someone working there. Its very convienent less than a block to my house when I need something printed but I think I’ll start making the trek up to FedEx Office because out of the 5x I’ve been here each time I’ve gotten annoyed with the service plus they’re suuuuper slow.

The customer service was terrible. The woman I dealt with constantly rolled her eyes at every question I asked. She was very smug and didn’t seem to care about my business.
I won’t be going back.

Staff is usually friendly. Best Prices you are gonna find versus going to a UPS Store or anywhere else in LBC.
Went to UPS Store and they wanted to charge $ 400 for a package to be shipped internationally, told them to F off, and drove out to Mailboxes Ect in Belmont and was only charged $ 219 for the same service…
Don’t get ripped off, go to Mailboxes Ect on 2^nd!

The people are always friends and sweet, I remember I got there probably a minute too late and they opened the door for me and with a smile allowed me to ship a package for Christmas. Great people great service, and while my printer is down at home I see them often when I have to print out resumes or applications. I love this place.

20min to make a key… that didn’t work. after ten min, i kept saying «can i just get my key back?» i had to work later to make up the time.

This is the «everything» business store. Passport photos, mailboxes, Japanese erasers, cards, notary services, print services, scanning, stationary… It can be really busy sometimes which slows service. The staff is all very friendly but generally has no sense of urgency. It’s a good place to go when you need business services.

Today I went to get something notarized at 3:00. Easy-​Peasy. There were 4 notaries on staff, and there was no wait. It only cost $ 10. In the past I’ve been by to use their fax and copy machines. They readily gave assistance when I needed help with the copy machine.
I didn’t see anything like the reviewer said above. The staff seem to enjoy themselves and joke around with each other and the customers.
FYI — They only accept credit cards for amounts above $ 5.

You can get what you need here, but the owner’s yelling at her employees (who seem immune to it by now), you’re nickel and dimed for everything, and you’ll wait, wait, wait for service. Yick. I’ll try again to see if I hit it on an off day, but this seems like a poorly run business.

Avoid this business. I was just charge 5 dollars to use their UPS drop off service. Yes, that is correct, 5 dollars to simply drop off a box that was sealed and already had a pre-​paid UPS label. I was told they dont except items unless the shipping was purchased at their store. MBE is owned by UPS, this is absolutely insane. I purchased the shipping label, now I have to pay so they can pick it up from their own business? Are you kidding me. I will not use this business again and I live one block away. Avoid on principle alone… What a terrible way to get a few bucks, especially in this economy…
