One of my most delicate and touchy matters is a haircut. We’ve all had those disastrous cuts before and some good ones here and there. Great Clips. Probably the best place in Long Beach to get a hair cut. I’ve lived here for most of my life and I am more than happy and satisfied with the customer service. They can read you if you’re not really a chatty type or not which I really like because I sometimes just want to come in and get my haircut and leave. Definitely worth the money if you know what you like. I’ve come in several times not really knowing what I want and they are patient and work with you all the way through, no questions asked or attitude about it. I love that. Very much. They have earned my business for life, and the online check-in system? Oh forget about it. Totally worth doing if you want to be sure you have a spot in line as opposed to just hoping you’ll be helped as soon as you arrive. Now of course, this is all just my personal opinion. 5⁄5 most certainly.

Great Clips is what it is — a cheap place to get your hair cut. I have had both positive and negative experiences here but it just depends on the stylist as some are better than others. What I want to say is that I genuinely feel that this shop does care about customer satisfaction. I got a questionable cut earlier this week and went back twice to have it redone. I think both stylists that helped me wanted me to leave happy and genuinely tried to fix my hair. I’m now happy with the result and wanted other people to know that IMO they care. Nothing beats going to the same person who knows exactly what you like but if you are short on cash I wouldn’t hesitate to go here.

No wait at 10 am on a friday but u can check in online on busy days and jump to the head of the line if there is one. Doesn’t matter who cuts your hair since they keep a record in the computer on what was done last time. Great for kids… fast and cheap

Good place for a cheap cut. If you have a picture of the cut you want, DONOT let Mayra touch your head! I showed the pic she briefly glanced at it and instantly assumed she knew what I wanted. I offered to show the photo again. She refused. The know-it-all was so clueless she did not want to be disabused of her false notion. When a coworker asked her what she was doing she replied she was giving me the same haircut a worker at the nearby coffee shop has. Not even CLOSE to what I asked for. When I realized I would be walking out with my hair way too short on the sides as so awkwardly long on top, I begged her to stop instantly. She just kept going. The top of my head weighs about 5 lbs. VERY bad job.

Here’s a warning for you all… although I am usually pretty satisfied with the haircuts and service I have received here, recently I got a wash and haicut and decided to get it blowdried(which I normally do myself). Well… ugly surprise at the checkout. My 16.00 wash and cut turned into a 46.00 wash, cut and blowdry(shoulder length hair) YIKES! I come here for the good prices but I feel I got screwed on this one. I should have been advised of the price. Lesson learned… don’t you make the same mistake.

My house is right next to it. I prefer this place because of online check-in and no waiting. I am a csulb student so I get student discount of $ 2 on each haircut. And hair cut is $ 13 which is reasonable. Majority of the staff is very friendly. I only had one bad experience out of 10 visits. Overall: good place. I will recommend.

This is my favorite place to have a haircut cause it’s cheap for a good quality service. I mean it is not the cheapest hair salon, but of course you want a good quality cause for crying out loud, they’re the one who cut your hair lol. I have no preferred hair stylist in this establishment cause everybody are awesome barbers. I just googled what haircut I want and bam! They got it done just like what I exactly want.

They give a discount to CSULB students, which is awesome. Just make sure to bring your ID. Everyone there was super chill when I went, and they made sure to get you in and out quickly.

Since I’m a poor student, again, this is my go-to place to get a haircut. I highly recommend downloading the smartphone app and using it to check in with your phone number 10 minutes before you get there. You’ll minimize the wait time that way. If you really want to splurge, get a wash with tea tree shampoo and conditioner. I don’t reccomend going on a date with anyone at your favorite Great Clips because if things don’t work out and you’re getting your hair cut by someone else, he will ‘help’ his colleague by cutting your bangs slowly with sharp scissors only 1 inch from your eyes and make you $#it bricks.

I told the girl«Alex» I wanted a small trim and she cut all of my hair off! She was rude both times I came into the salon, she had a really bad attitude and made it seem like a chore that she had to cut my hair. So rude. I won’t return.

I always go here to get a simple haircut and I am always happy with the results. They are always very welcoming and although sometimes there is wait, they get to you fast.

I just attempted to call Great Clips to make an appointment to get my hair cut. I was told they did not accept appointments by phone and they took walk in service. I asked the approximate wait time if I was to walk into the store in the next 10 to 15 minutes and I was told they could not give me an estimate because the wait time was consistently changing. I asked for a ball park estimate and again was told they could not give me that information because it always changed. I went to their competitor, walked in and got my hair cut immediately. Customer service is a big factor that Great Clips at this location really needs to learn.

Pretty good haircuts for men at least. Very friendly staff and cater to whatever you ask. Always have a good conversation and fast haircut. Not too expensive($ 15) but, if you have a student ID you can get a discount for $ 12. Saves a little which is nice, I’ll be back again for trims or another haircut.

Honestly I will not even recommend a bald Guy to get a hair cut here. I am not kinda person who usually writes a negative review but when some one messes up a simple hair cut not once but twice. and be obnoxiously rude raising the voice when you are perfectly calm. Yes that place deserve a negative review. This place is like practice ground for new Cosmetologists. I live near traffic circle this is the closet salon I have. unfortunately i am forced to find a new place for a simple hair cut.

I went in to get a my hair trimmed along with my friend. The chick Kara took my friends info and sat her down in the chair. I was standing there waiting for someone to check me in, which no one did. So I sat down. While Kara was cutting my friends hair two guys walked in and she took their info. Then my friend asked me if I was getting my haircut and I said«no, I’m going somewhere else.» loud enough for her to hear it. This girl was so rude! She even stab my friend in the face with her nail. I did go somewhere else and got better costumer service and a better cut than I would have gotten here. Kara needs to learn how to give proper costumer service and not to stab people in the face with her nails.

Went in with a friend for haircuts, but no one ever checked her in, even though she was standing there the whole time. She was never helped. A couple of people came in after us and were taken right away while she was still waiting there. Unbelievable. The woman who cut my hair, Kara, had a very nasty attitude. I couldn’t believe how rude she was. I wanted to say something, but when someone has your hair in one hand and scissors in the other, you might as well save your opinion for a Unilocal review. It was a very uncomfortable experience and I just wanted to get out of there as soon as I could. Needless to say, I won’t be going back again. I think I can get a mediocre haircut somewhere with slightly better service.

Very convenient and perfect for when the grandkid needs a trim. He’s not too particular and his hair has some funky(but super cute) cowlicks. However the hair is cut(scissor, clipper, good, not-so-good) I’ll just spike it up on top for a «fresh boy» look. The hub will also occasionally come here when I don’t feel like dealing with the clippers. I’ve gotten my own hair cut here too and most of the time things have gone well. The last time I went, however, was like the third time the stylist cut my top layer way too short(yikes) and I ended up fighting with my hair(again). I like to think I’m pretty low maintenance and not too picky, but after struggling with that darn top layer every morning for 6 – 8 weeks — for the third time — I’d pretty much decided it was time to search once again for a more consistent stylist.
