I stopped in around 16:00 and the donut selection was still plentiful. Often times at smaller stores like this they bake once in the morning and don’t restock. This leaves only a few glazed or somewhat less appealing flavors left over. Thankfully, this was not the case at this particular Granny’s. The man at the counter was very polite and provided excellent customer service. He packaged the dozen I bought very neatly without destroying any of the donuts. He topped off a cup of coffee for me and was all around very contentious. Most dozens in Long Beach run between 5.00−8.00USD. So I was caught off guard when the cashier rang it up at 10.39USD. Granted that included my dollar coffee but that still meant that the overall dozen was around 9.00USD – which is shocking for donuts that are not gourmet. I ate two donuts: a crumb, and a glazed lemon-filled. The crumb was odd and not very flavorful; I wouldn’t recommend it. The glazed lemon-filled was one of the best donuts I have ever had. The jelly to donut ratio was perfect and I didn’t feel overwhelmed by the lemon flavoring or quantity of jelly. I definitely recommend the glazed jelly-filled donut. Bottom line: If you’re stopping in for a quick cup of coffee and one or two donuts this place is a great, quiet place to take a minute to yourself. However if you’re looking for a relatively cheaply priced dozen, this is definitely not the place to pick up.

I’ve seen this little donut shop on this corner since I moved up to Long Beach 2 years ago but only recently decided to give it a shot. Admittedly I don’t buy donuts very often, but I don’t know if i’ll ever buy them anywhere else again. These are some amazing donuts, the quality and flavor is head and shoulders above most other little donut shops I’ve been to. Seriously, these guys are on another level, you won’t be disappointed. If i could give them more than 5 stars I would.

Really Good Service. The gentleman was very kind and fast. Parking lot is spacious and has many spots. Only $ 9 for a dozen doughnuts, that’s not too bad. Also the best thing is they take cash and credit card, which most donuts places don’t. All-In-All Great Spot!

Good donuts. Good ham and cheese croissant. Friendly staff. Easy parking. Pretty much what you want from a donut place. Simple. In and out quickly. The glazed donuts are fluffy and on the bigger side. Good.

Best donuts hands down. Nothing fancy, no outrageous prices, just plain old fashioned donuts. Been coming here since I was a little girl. I remember my parents would take my 2 siblings and I here after church on Sundays to get a dozen assorted donuts. Each of us got to pick 4 and I always got the glaze twist, chocolate twist, raspberry filled, and custard filled. Today I stopped by and got an assorted dozen and it was still the same owner serving the same quality of donuts.

I live down the street from this place. My mom n I went for a 2 mile bike ride and I had seen some reviews about the croissants. We came here and got the ham, cheese, n jalepeno ones. I waited outside with our bikes but my mom said the man who helped her was super nice. Best after ride meal ever! I’m dreaming about them now!

After trying several local places, I finally struck gold here on the same corner as El Pollo Loco. As others mention, NOT your typical greasy donut. No detectable oil slick on your soft palate, and no greasy aftertaste. Two favorites are buttermilk bars and the raspberry filled jelly donuts. Buttermilk dough is more fragrant and cakey than others I’ve had. Even when I buy them in the afternoon, presumably after they’ve been sitting for a while, the exterior has a nice crunch. The raspberry filling in the jelly donut is more than ample, and not the clear tasteless kind you get in most. There are actually a few seeds. Not too many, though. The only one I’ve tried so far that could be improved upon is the apple fritter – not that many apple chunks and very little cinnamon flavor, and it’s the one donut where the grease or glaze seemed to settle into the donut a bit more. But that’s the fault of the fritter, not the makers, since the surface creates crevaces perfect for collecting oil or glaze. I haven’t tried their unfrosted cake or banana bread, but they look good, and are huge slices. Even the donuts seem larger than other places. Those who run the shop are really friendly. I’ve payed different prices for the same donut purchased from different people. But I don’t really care since the quality is so good.

In all my illustrious year of doughnut eating, I have never been to such a great place. Usually my dining experiences go something like this «Uuuh yes let me have two of those big greasy ass twisty things… yeah that’ll be all…$ 72WTF… FOR A DOUGHNUT» okay seriously, these are not like those other sloppy grease sponges you may gets elsewhere. SUPERCHEAP SUPERGOOD SUPERNOTHIGHCOSTING SUPERNOTNASTY
