This salon is amazing. from the moment you walk in, kind greetings and very attentive. they know what they are doing. help you if you have any questions about any products or treatments. I only get my hair done here. Color, cut, Brazilian Blow outs. They rock and I could not be happier. I have recommended them to many friends who are all equally as satisfied. Thanks Dean Anthony!

Disappointed. The customer service here is outstanding, no doubt about that. I just decided to update my review because I am shocked that I spent $ 140 for my hair color, and three weeks later it was faded and almost brown and brassy, and I called them for a corrective color and they CHARGED me $ 160 and it wasn’t even a month later and it still wasn’t anywhere close to what I wanted… I love the people there and the stylist is a sweetheart but $ 300 for hair that looks nothing like the picture is a joke. And to charge someone after it was a correction is BS. I won’t be returning which is unfortunate because I live so close and loved the staff.

I am new to the area from Detroit and had no idea where to start looking. This salon had a lot of good reviews so I thought I would give it a try and I am glad I did.
From the moment I called to inquire about their services I was given awesome customer service. Robbie set up my appointment and took time asking me questions prior to booking it so he could find the right fit for me.
I saw Jenny for a balayage and cut. She was very knowledgable and did an AMAZING job. She was also very nice and gave the best scalp massage while rinsing out my color.
I will continue to go back there not only because of the amazing work, but because of the phenomenal customer service as well.
I would highly recommend them to anyone!

This place is legit. I was greeted by friendly staff and offered Red Bull, wine and other various beverages. I said yes to all the drinks as I was quite parched. I received THE BEST scalp massage ever by Nassim. When it was time for my haircut she asked, «What would you like done to your hair?» I shrugged and told her to make me more handsomer. After she cut my hair, I did indeed look more handsome. Love the place, the employee’s and my new hair stylist Nassim. In all seriousness, if you want to become better-​looking, go here.

Tuesday, May 24^th, I arrived for my 7 o’clock appointment some minutes early. I’m usually late everywhere, but left work (in the heart of Orange County) with time to wind down from an hour’s worth of traffic and to see if I could flip through any magazines or books for some last minute images of inspiration I could show the hairstylist I’d booked with, Nassim.
A week prior I had done research (here on Unilocal actually), clicking through much of her Dean Anthony Salon portfolio. After being unhappy with results from a different, hipster-​vibe salon in Orange County in February and getting somewhat snarky responses from other receptionist desks while I called around places by work for a pre-​30^th birthday haircut, I decided I should come back to Long Beach.
The 5-​star experience started with my request for an appointment. I submitted the request via the website after hours while putting in some overtime at work and was followed up with the next day by the receptionist desk (I believe the man’s name was Rob). Rob’s attitude and energy were wonderful. Though they didn’t have an appointment for me as immediate as I requested, his polite tone and accommodation made me feel really good. Speaking with him I knew Dean Anthony Salon was going to be worth the extra few days wait.
When I arrived for my appointment, Nassim was finishing up a young man’s haircut. The receptionist offered me beverage, which I declined at first. After sitting a minute, she came around again with a 10% off coupon for products (a first visit deal) and said, «Are you sure I can’t get you anything? Water? Juice? Wine?»
My ears perked up. «Really? Wine?»
«Yes.»
“You’ve got a white back there?”
«Sure we do.»
«OK. That’d be awesome.»
And it was awesome. Just a few sips was enough to loosen my tense neck muscles from the stress of the day. I flipped through a Kerastase style book there. I found no visuals for my trim, but wasn’t terribly worried without that visual back-​up. Dean Anthony Salon and Nassim had already earned my trust. Shortly after those few sips, Nassim was ready for me. We introduced ourselves and I explained to her what I didn’t like about my previous haircut and what I would like. She touched my hair, said a few «hairstylist things» to me («how do you usually style your hair?» «we’ll lighten the weight here, blend the layers there») and then I was off to the washing room.
I do not remember the products used on my hair in the washing room. One thing I know for sure is… I received the *best* scalp massage I have ever received in my life. The wine was the perfect precursor to this experience too! I was completely silent and nearly drooling in relaxation. This is coming from someone who’s had more than a few massages from Glen Ivy, Burke Williams and Nordstrom Spa. It was utterly delightful and I really needed the TLC.
Once washed and conditioned, Nassim tightly wrapped my damp hair in a towel (not a drop fell near my brow or down my neck), and I walked back to her station.
Nassim understood – all I really wanted was my layers evened around (apparently one side of my hair was rather drastically longer than the other, hahah) and blended through. I had made a point to tell her that I do not like bluntly-​cut layers on my medium-​long hair and she totally got that. After the cut and dry, she blended the layers beautifully.
Then she asked me the million dollar question, «How would you like your hair styled tonight?»
I’ve gotta admit, I’m a tried-​and-​true wash and air-​dry kinda gal. I will occasionally blow dry my hair when the weather is cold, but more often than not I’m driving down the 22 in the morning with all my windows down while simultaneously fluffing my fingers through my hair, steering, and sipping coffee. And when I do blow dry my hair, it’s not a «blow out,» it’s more like a «let me dry the roots as quickly as possible so I don’t freeze» kinda-​method. So, no, I don’t really know what I’m doing. I just know that with the right cut, the air-​dry or my haphazard blow dry still looks rather put together.
I did confess my «regimen» to Nassim, but also expressed my ideal hairstyle – beach waves. I asked her how much styling was required to achieve that. She shared honestly that it definitely required a good amount of styling, but did also later suggest some products to make it easier for me if I cared to attempt something like it on my own later.
She took her time and gave me some beautiful beach waves. I watched Nassim’s technique as she wrapped inched-​off sections of my hair on a rather skinny-​barreled brush. I regret I did not capture her artistry in a photo – my face was looking rather haggard that evening. But when I visited my mom and her neighbor that night, I was told it looked «very Julia Roberts» (which is perfect because I sometimes have a goofy smile like her).
Thanks to Nassim and Dean Anthony Salon for making me feel like a better version of myself… just in time for my 30^th birthday. I will definitely be back!

I have been getting my hair done here with Hannah for a while now, absolutely amazing service and Hannah is amazing! For a full balyage and gloss and cut, it was perfection!!!

Lauren was absolutely phenomenal! She completely transformed my dry and damaged hair into soft, amazing layered curls for my wedding. I will definitely be back!

I have never dyed my hair and decided that for the first time I wanted to go lighter. I went to Jessica for a Balayage treatment on my curls and she was amazing! Since I’d never done any kind of color treatment she talked me through all my options on how light I wanted and I LOVE my hair! It is so natural with no chunks or streaks of color and it took my natural color to a new level of pop! I am so excited to go to her again.
She’s also really enjoyable to talk to, which is nice when you are there for such a long time!

I’ve been to her several times and even followed her from her last salon. She’s taken my hair all over the place and back again and I love her for it. I went from blonde to blue-​grey to ombré blonde to pink. She always takes care of me and makes sure I love my hair.
And Dean Anthony is a great spot for her. Amazing attention to customer service, tons of natural light, and kind receptionists.

I’m obsessed with Nassim. She worked some real magic. So much so, she cuts my super picky husbands hair, my 9 year old son, brother and sister –in-law’s hair. I am super picky about my hair. But she listened to what I wanted and did EXACTLY that! Her color is truly flawless. She takes her time (which is really hard to find nowadays at high end salons) and really makes sure her clients are happy with the outcome.
My Balayage is so spot on, and natural! She never cuts too much and always makes sure your hair looks perfect before you leave the salon.

She takes her time while she cuts and is a perfectionist. THAT is what you want from a hair stylist. I am extremely picky (my wife says, «too picky!») but she always exceeds my expectations. Dean is not cheap by any means but Nassim makes it worth every penny.

My wife has been looking for a hairstylist since she left Pakistan and has not been able to find a really awesome hair place. We recently moved to Long Beach from Sacramento and I made an appointment for her. The place is amazing the workers there are so nice the owner of the company is simply great. My wife tells me they were really great and she has definitely found a good place. When you want great hair you gotta find a great place where the price is right and employees treat you like family and friends with concern

I have been getting my hair done by Michelle for 10 years now. I have never walked out of the salon feeling anything less than gorgeous and have never sat down in her chair feeling anything less than total trust in her abilities. I am always impressed by how her and her fellow stylists are constantly educating themselves. My son won’t get his hair cut anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed.

Guys: awesome skincare and hairstyling for men! This was like finding a pearl, and LBC has few when it comes to aesthetics. Your hide will thank you! The stylist I went to left unfortunately (the others are great though), but the facialist here is extraordinary. Quiet room in the back, pleasing soundscapes, amazing little massages during unique peels/​other treatment, and a wonderful personality. She has a vast knowledge of skincare, and she takes care of the little things so well. I have seen quite a few facialists/​estheticians over the years, particularly in LA, but I have never had my skin feel and look this good. Be prepared to finally get a hold on your skincare ritual and learn a thing or two. Also, every haircut comes with a mini-​facial, and the stylists have some serious talent. Can’t beat this!

I recently moved to Belmont Shore and was looking for a local salon. I had my first appointment here last night, and I’m so glad I found this place. The staff was great, very relaxed and friendly. Megan did such a good job with my wax and was so knowledgeable that I now have no desire to go anywhere else. I definitely recommend this salon. I’m thrilled that it’s walking distance from new apartment!

I’ve been a client here for over 5 years. This was originally marketed as a guy’s place for haircuts with sports tv at every station and screens around the salon. Having a great stylist plus that market niche made it unique. It has morphed over time to accommodate men and women. Although its marketing strategy has changed there remains a friendly staff, cool décor and great service. Everyone here is good. I’m not gonna post my stylist’s name for fear of not being able to book an appointment. Trust that my hair is ALWAYS perfect when I leave. And the post cut facial is the best.

The salon is modern and clean with a very friendly staff that serves you treats! :) Aside from the salon itself, Tiffany really knows what she is doing and customizes every technique to make the PERFECT cut and color. I was in need of a haircut /​dust. And a toner gloss My layers were out of control and my hair was brassy. I came to see Tiffany Ralph’s because she was really helpful at the Surf event that Dean Anthony held in the summer, they gave you a style champagne and some samples. She showed me how to curl my hair for beachy waves. On my visit Tiffany listened to everything I had say regarding my hair without interrupting me. She understood exactly what I wanted and needed! She delivered! I love my layers and my hair is toned to perfection.

I love coming to this salon. It’s clean and modern and elegant and hip all at once. This feels like a «grown ups» salon. I am really pampered here. Tiffany is a dream. I came to her with a very specific way I wanted my hair cut

The staff is super friendly, the environment is modern & they treat our little guy like a rock star! Our son never cried getting a hair cut here. Our little man knows to go get a Blow Pop from the candy jar, the stylist turns on the cartoons or sports channel & off we go! It is the perfect place for us to take our son for a hair cut.

I decided that I deserved a «treat yourself» hair day. So I was looking through Unilocal and I came across Dean Anthony. I was really impressed with the pictures so I made an appointment around Tuesday and they were able to accommodate a time on Friday.
Hannah was my stylist and she honestly did a fabulous job on my hair. We talked about what kind of haircut and color I wanted. She gave me some feedback and I trusted her judgement. She went over the prices and the process we were going through.
I loved that she cut my hair the way that I wanted. She is so understanding and patient.

Alison was awesome! She gave me the exact cut I asked for and even listen to my weird cutting requests. I had a bad hair that I’ve been growing out for over a year (that’s how bad the layers were). She listen when I told her I like concave fringe, and needed weight take out in the back. She also did an amazing job with styling it out.
