5 stars! Best body repair shop in the area!!! Jim the owner is really helpful and friendly. He is super easy to work with and he will fight for your benefits with your insurance company! Having a collision was unfortunate, but Costal Collision center was really painless to work with to get my car fixed!

I had to pay for this one out of pocket, which is a long story. This was the only collision center for miles that was comfortable, and understood English enough to know what paying out-​of-​pocket meant. They did a phenomenal job, timely, responsive, no extra unexpected fixes. They saved me a good amount of money by leaving a few things undone, but still kept me safe. Highly recommended!

You would expect a service facility to give you the run around and make you fix unnecessary items. Coastal Collision proved me wrong. From the time I drove up, I felt the warm welcome and they immediately provided me with their expert opinion in resolving my car issues. Jim was straightforward, competent and has reasonable pricing. Coastal Collision Center is absolutely amazing! I have been taking my car here ever since I moved to Long Beach, and I am so glad that I did. I think it is so difficult these days to find a car center that is going to give you amazing results, honest work, and a price that isn’t going to take advantage of you. Coastal encapsulates all of this things and is a fantastic, trustworthy experience that I have never experienced anywhere else to have my car worked on.
Most recently, my car had a huge mechanical issue as the oil pump seized. The car’s future would have seemed dismal, but not at Coastal!!! James was honest about the potential damage to the engine, estimated cost of repair (very accurately as it ended up as well), clearly went through all the details of what work needed to be done, and answered all of the (many) questions I had about the car’s condition. Even after leaving, James updated me often in the days after about the progress of the work, the costs of parts, and how much work was going into the car. After much work to my baby, I got the call that she was running when the odds did not seem good at all at first! When I arrived to pick up my car, James went over every detail of my car’s condition after all of the work that had been done, and was also nice enough to help me with questions about other issues my car was having. He was very concise with what things he saw while working on the car that should be fixed soon, what could wait, and what things didn’t need to be fixed at all and looked great. Considering my car is going on 9 years old, to get this preventative information for a car going on a decade old is very comforting. As a person who is not great with cars, I’ve always found it very difficult to find somewhere to take my car where I feel comfortable and relaxed, but Coastal is absolutely amazing in taking care of their customers and all of their car’s needs.
The mechanical work done to my car has been amazing, the staff has been so helpful and nice, and overall the experience is one you just won’t get anywhere else. James is the man to go to, and I’m happy to have him taking care of all of my car’s needs; and you will too!

This place is awesome! I took it in today to get my window regulator replaced. I can’t remember the names but they gave me a great deal with military discount. They wiped down the outside of my car as well (it was pretty dirty) which was cool. Although they did leave a bit of a mess inside but whatever. I’m very satisfied with the customer service and how easy and simple it was to get it done. I’ll definitely come back for my other repairs.

Brought it back here to get the work that needed to be completed. If you are someone that likes their vehicle and takes really good care of it like I do, than you NEED TO READ MY REVIEW BELOW:

Spot check the work completed and it looks excellent. I could not find anything wrong even as I try to look for it from different angles with the sun light hitting the paint job. I’m very impressed. No excuses, just excellent work done on repainting the items that needed to be completed. Again, it just blew my expectations out of the water. They are honest and showed me the rear driver side molding that was damaged internally from the accident a couple of months ago when I inquired about it. I’m not an expert at painting cars, but I know what a top notch paint job should look like after my prior experiences. They got it right. I’m serious, they got it right. They redeemed themselves from the last time.

They also helped me buffed out the scratches & paint transfer from another vehicle that hit me on the passenger side rear bumper this past week. That unknown driver lightly hit my passenger side rear bumper this past week while the vehicle was parked. I do not know how someone can just hit your vehicle while it’s parked and NOT leave a note… only in California… they «hit you and they run».
They got the majority of scratches & paint transfer off the other vehicle’s paint off the rear bumper and whatever is left is hard to see unless you look for it. Thank you again Coastal Collision Center for doing this. I again appreciate this. they did not have to do this. They are just amazing!!!
They also helped buff out the front headlights and cleared them up to look like brand new. No cost to me, again amazing work done on them. I told them to focus on the work that needed to be completed and if they had time to buff out the headlights… I wasn’t too concern about them looking clear at the moment.
I’m happy. Jim and John and the rest of the staff here did a wonderful job in getting the vehicle to look this awesome!!! Jim was wonderful to work with, kept tabs on the process and I couldn’t be any happier. I’m happy that they got it right the 2^nd Time, because I would be disappointed if they didn’t.
With my prior experiences over at Boulevard Collision in Signal Hill where I took my vehicle in 8 months ago for paint repairs, Boulevard Collision could learn a couple of things from this place on how to blow expectations out of the water and do it right the first or 2^nd time. Boulevard Collision does not even measure up to the quality of Coastal Collision even when given a 2^nd chance to do so.
I would TRULY RECOMMEND you get a quote from this place when shopping around for quotes, they have my recommendations as a place to take your vehicle in for paint repairs.
They are not perfect, but they will make it right. They have proven that to me!!! Yay!!!

Let me start off by saying I’ve been to Coastal Collision two times. 1^st time I would rate at 5 stars. I was paying out of pocket for a bit of body damaged I did on my own and I got great customer service from a woman that worked there. I don’t believe she works there any longer. They did great work and fixed what I needed.
…this most recent time I was less than pleased with their customer service.
Day 1: I went in to drop my vehicle off for mild front bumper damage (but still very drivable) on Tuesday and asked John how long it may take. He said it would probably be done mid-​week of next week because they were busy. My face was clearly surprised and John asked if my rental company was paying for the rental or if I was. I let him know I was and he made sort of an «ouch! that sucks» face and then walked away without saying anything. I thought it was odd.
Day 6: I get my insurance estimate in the mail and notice it says they’re only charging for 12 hours of labor and wonder why it’s taking a week and a half to finish the car.
Day 7: I call to see the progress of repairs and John stated they just took my vehicle apart to assess the damage that morning and it wouldn’t be done until Friday or Tuesday of the next week. This upset me mostly because I had been driving a rental around for a week and my own car was previously drivable. Completely unnecessary. I could have come back when they were less busy if he’d been straight forward with me about being too busy to even look at my car. I would have had zero problem with that based on my previous great experience with them.
I let him know how upsetting this is and he said he’d place a rush on it but couldn’t guarantee anything.
Day 9: I picked up my car today. Jim helped me out and was AMAZING. He was very apologetic and sincere. I asked him if they could cover part of the cost for my car rental which was a total of $ 221 for 10 days. He had to ask John if they could do this and John walked back into the office, looked at me, didn’t say anything and just spoke to Jim who was standing right next to me. He let Jim know that since they took a long time and they were at fault for the time, they could cover part of it. Jim let me know they’d take off $ 100 for the inconvenience and he apologized again. I thanked Jim and also John as he walked past me and all he did was look at me and kept walking to his other customers outside. No response at all.
The work on my car was done properly and completely. They also wash and do light detailing on the inside of the vehicle (clean the dash, windows, etc). My two star rating is for the customer service from John. I believe he may be the owner. Again, Jim was amazing and should handle all customer interactions, it would help the customer service aspect of their business.
Estroga’s Collision here in LB is where I’ll be going back to if I ever need body work done again.
Update: After picking up my vehicle, Jim contacted me via phone and Unilocal to extend his apologies again for the situation. He offered to cover the rest of my rental cost that I had payed out of pocket and I accepted. Jim’s relationship to the business is what would help me consider going back if I ever did need work done on my vehicle.

It’s the first time I’ve ever had to go to an auto body shop and I’m glad it was a great experience. My poor little Kio Rio was hit (parked) and had to have a bumper replacement. John made sure to take care of me and they knew exactly what to do when they found more damage beneath. The time frame was about 2 weeks but only due to waiting for the insurance to provide a supplement which by normal standards (from what I’ve heard) is typical. The bumper looks great if not better than before it was hit hehe. Thank you coastal for being patient with me and my many phone calls. I was very nervous about the whole situation but John and team assured me they have a handle on these things. :)

After having my Jeep 18 years (1997) and 175,000 miles, it was time to get it repainted. I did a lot of research on the different prices of paint jobs you can get. I also researched what Gold Class certified was. For a gold-​class certified place, Coastal Collision gave me the best deal. If the paint starts to oxidize in 10 years, they will fix it (warranty for life like most or all Gold-​class rated places). Spending a few thousand $ was not what I budgeted, but now I see it was well worth it. My car looks brand new off the show room floor. Thank you Frank at Coastal Collision. Time to take my Jeep another 18 years and and another 175,000 miles.

My car has tremendous sentimental value to me. It was the last car my late husband ever bought with me but it’s old now, too old for collision insurance. I cannot bear to part with it. Sadly, my car was in a crash on the 405. Everything in the front had to be replaced. The repairs were beyond its dollars and cents value. I turned it over with a heavy heart to Jim Scallon at Coastal Collision. They worked long and hard to find a way to fix it for me. The job was made harder by the fact that it is an East Coast car, an all wheel drive variety of a common West Coast car but parts had to be hunted down and shipped across country. Miraculously, they made it happen! The happiest day of my life was when I picked up my new and improved old baby.

A Unilocal win! I didn’t know where to turn when i started looking for an auto body shop in long beach. Long story short, I had a bad day turn worse when I came out after work to see the front corner of my cobalt crunched in after I OF COURSE decided to park on the street when I NEVER do :/​FML
Anyhoo…, on my auto body search, I stopped at coastal first. The place was clean and Jim seemed super helpful. I stopped at a couple other body shops, and can I say sketchy!
I came back to coastal collision center to have my baby fixed. Jim called my insurance for me and had a rental car waiting for me! Talk about making it EZ!
I just picked up my baby and I must say, she looks better than the day I got her. And she was done a couple days early! :)
Seriously guys, if ur looking for an auto body shop, Jim and the guys at coastal totally had my back, and I’m dure they’ll do the same for you!

I had a couple scratches on my rear bumper that I wanted to get fixed. I got a quick, free, no hassle estimate. I brought my car in the next day for the service and was blown away by the customer service and the friendliness of the employees. Frank, you restored my faith that there are fair and honest people in the auto industry. I highly recommend this place if you want quick, quality and friendly service. I guarantee you’ll leave with a smile on your face.

I was looking for a collision repair and I found this place! Wow if I could give a 10 review I would, Jim scallon and Frank Hernadez were the best! to work with, everything when smooth from the beginning to the end, I couldn’t be happier! :))) My car got side swiped on the left front the collision repair work they did was beyond my expectations, they even did extra work! and cleaned my car! If you are in need of collision repair, go see these guys there the best!

I had been to this location for some work under the previous owner (Laslo’s). I wanted some cheap body work at a cheap price. But what a pleasant surprise that what I got was Great Work at yet a very reasonable price. The new owners are a father son team. The work took a couple of extra days, but was well worth the wait. I felt the price was very fair, and the quality of the work was very good.

Took me a while to write a review but here it is, coastal collision really took care of me, after shipping around locally I found coastal collision very customer friendly, Lorena was great in walking me through the whole insurance ordeal. Overall I had a great experience.

My experience with Coastal Collision was awesome! I noticed right away that it was clean and professional. The staff was nice and very knowledgable. My car had been hit while it was parked on the side of the road, and I was really stressed about dealing with it. They explained everything to me, and made me feel comfortable. The price was affordable and they got it done quickly. I was extremely happy with the end result, and relieved to have my car back in great condition.

I obtained 5 estimates from local auto body shops and was somewhat skeptical when Costal Collision came back with the lowest estimate. The damage sustained to the back of my vehicle was ‘beyond repairable’ according to other body shops. In fact, other body shops wanted to replace the entire hatchback for almost $ 2,000. Coastal Collision however strongly believed the damage can be repaired rather than replaced. Because of the staff (Lorena and Jim) and their level of customer service and friendliness, they won me over versus the competition.
Enough good things cannot be written here to explain my satisfaction with Coastal. Lorena was simply amazing! Always friendly, smiling, laughing and assuring. Jim (although I didn’t work directly with him) was still willing to assist and also smiling and laughing (and this was on a Monday morning!) :) They provided 2 days free rental car (a HUGE stress relief for me) and finished the repairs ahead of schedule. I don’t know how Coastal worked their magic on my car, but the body damage is simply gone and restored as new! They went above and beyond by detailing my car too (washed, tire dressing, inside vacuum). AMAZING!
Seriously folks… if you’re looking for work to be done on your car, you MUST go see Lorena and/​or Jim at Coastal Collision.

The staff at Coastal is really on their game. Super nice and clean environment. Got my car done on time and honest about what needed to be done. Most auto shops try to nickel and dime you for every little thing. These guys just took care of what I needed and got me back on the road. I highly recommend this place!

Coastal Collision Center was a lifesaver! I had been to multiple body shops and was getting frustrated by the ridiculous prices they were quoting me to fix my bumper. I almost gave and took one last stop at Coastal. I can not be any more grateful!
They informed they could fix my bumper on the spot and my car would be ready the next day. Not only did they just do my bumper, they also discovered other issues on my vehicle that they fixed willingly. At the end of the day, all repairs cost the same as one bumper repair at another shop. Thanks again Coastal Collision Center, I will definitely return!
