Charles and Barbra are our real estate agents for our personal residences and manage a small rental property we own as well. After going through several property managers I am so happy we have found them. They manage all my tenants needs and find great prices when repairs are needed. They also did a great job when we purchased our home. The entire escrow process and clearing the list of contingencies went smoothly and we closed right on time. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a property manager and/​or a real estate broker.

Charles and Barbara are spot on in their field. Barbara is the only real estate agent that I have been associated with who consistently watches listings for a property that meets my very specific wish list .

I was a tenant renting with Chuck at CMC Realty & Property Management for about a year. The unit was completely renovated and beautiful, and if I ever had a minor maintenance issue he was extremely responsive and helpful. I move a lot for work and have lived in many rentals over the years, but Chuck was definitely one of my favorite landlords. When you are moving into a new home, you want to know that you are going to be happy there, and that any concerns that may arise will be addressed. I feel very confident in recommending Chuck and this property management company to anyone considering their business.

It was such the incredible experience to own our first house in U. S less than 6 weeks after initial online search whilst we were physically located overseas! We never imagined to accomplish this miracle without Charles — he was the key booster to help us win the bid with best bargaining price and effectively expedite every single required step to complete the transaction. Not only as our AGENT, but he is also our PROPERTY MANAGER in charge of the whole rent service. Charles rapidly found and qualified the suitable tenant once the deal was done in Sep 2012 and amazingly our tenant hasn’t left ever since. The quality, efficiency, and responsiveness from Charles are highly professional, phenomenal and best-​in-​class!

Would give this zero stars if possible. In the beginning everything seemed fine. We applied for a place in the Banner Circle neighborhood. Charles (the employee that contacted us) was very friendly and openly communicated with us throughout the process. After filling out a rental application for the property and paying multiple application fees he called me regarding a few questions he had about the application. This is where all the problems began. I asked him about his pet policy and he responded with, «Why didn’t you fill out that you had a pet? It seems very misleading that you wouldn’t say you had one when you applied.» I replied that there was nothing on the application regarding any animals hence my inquiry. I had to print out an exact copy of the online application I filled out and send it to him to prove to him that the application he had and the one that was online were two different applications. A little while after he was shown my copy of the application I went back online and saw that it had been recently updated to include a section specifically for pets. He told me that they do not accept pets at their property but I clarified that my dog was a service animal and could verify with all the proper documents. Charles said that he needed to meet the dog first, but that we were approved for the apartment and insisted that we drop off a $ 500 money order ASAP to a random address that he emailed me in order to hold the apartment. The address is just a mailbox in a building with multiple businesses. I couldn’t get a hold of anyone to verify business hours or anything else. I asked if he still wanted to meet the dog first so we could kill two birds with one stone. I would give him the money order during the meeting so I knew for sure someone received my money instead of leaving it in a random door and he could verify that my dog was a service animal and fit for living in any home. After encouraging us to drop off the deposit a few more times we were finally able to make arrangements for him to meet the dog first (and then to give him the money order). After he met my mild mannered, very well behaved dog he ended the meeting by saying, «ok– I’ll let you know what ‘THEY’ say» and «I’ll ask ‘THEM’» even though he already approved us and urged us to give him the money order. Why would he ask for a money order and then take back the approval of an apartment based on the fact that I had a dog?! A service animal, mind you. This falls under discrimination. For a man who admittedly owned two large dogs and seemingly liked my medium sized service dog it didn’t seem fitting. I had to call him several times to find out the status of the apartment. After several attempts and the runaround he finally EMAILED (what a punk move) –instead of calling back– saying that he had just gotten into the «office» and that «THEY» couldn’t give me the apartment because I had a dog. Again, she’s a service animal and for «THEM» to deny me the apartment –after already being approved and running multiple credit checks that I paid for– would mean that there is some discrimination going on. I even politely emailed him the current CA laws based on service animals and tenant laws. I never got a response from him or anybody else at CMC Realty after that. Just when I thought that the worse was over I looked them up. Turns out that Charles IS CMC Realty! He reports to no one and answers only to himself. His name is Charles M. Chang (aka CMC) and he runs this company and these are properties owned by him so he makes all the final calls on potential tenants. So disappointing and sickening that he would be so unlawful and waste everyones time and money and then pretend that he has no say in the practices of his own company.
Also, I had to go through hell and back to get my money order refunded since it had already been filled out to him. It was a very upsetting situation all around but I’m glad his unprofessional and discriminatory behavior steered us away from his complex and to a more established and law abiding management company. We found a home where we –service animal included– are all happy and safe.
