Bob’s Car Wash

I really like this place. It’s about the best gas station drive-​thru car wash I’ve been to. I don’t have the time or care enough to waste 30+ minutes at a real car wash, so I go here every couple of weeks to keep my ride looking halfway decent (black car parked outside = dirty again in 3 days). The guy at the end that dries your car makes all the difference because otherwise you’ll get hard water spots if you just drive off. And for God’s sake tip him a buck or two — it’s f_​_​_​d up if you don’t.

They seem to have ironed out their unfortunate habit of closing during daylight hours. And I can do a vaccuum for a buck if I do it myself. So it’s back up to that lukewarm rating of three stars.

Yes, the highlight of this drive thru car wash is that there are guys that dry your vehicle instead of a loud ass useless fan.

Yes, rain this week but who the hell wants more spots on more rain spots the way it has been raining lately?!
Besides, what better way to get a good rain than to wash your car prior to the coming storms?
$ 5.95, drive it through, wipe down the excess at home and oh yes, a dollar for almost 30 minutes to self vacuum your car, that too I do better than some of the other car washes here in the LB!
Also, The Jaybird (see photo) is much happier clean than spotty from Bird-​Potty!

Now better than A-​Okay in a good way!
Now, I’m a fan because they use cleaner towels than other car washes and, I don’t have to tip either!
So, as stated below and then some, an in a pinch good option!

This place is pretty decent. The cost for a drive through car wash are average, and I like the towel dry at the end, rather than have gusts of wind smack my car and make my windshield wipers go crazy XD Anyway, they usually have 1 or 2 guys drying your car for you, and it’s best to go when there’s not a line, because they will shorten your drying time. I feel bad when they have one guy drying though so I always tip him extra. They do need extra towels though. When there are several cars, and by the time it’s my turn to get dried, the towels are already wet, so it kinda just streaks on my car =\ Other than that, I mostly go here since it’s the closest to my house, unless I want everything inside and out done then I go elsewhere

Horrible place! No clear signs about prices. And the basic wash does not include a vaccuum or wipe down inside the car. In fact, the management should really just advertise it as a sloppy drive-​through car wash. Had to say I felt bad for the employees… there were two… who seems far too underpaid to even care. So BOB… What up? Why not change your business model and actually serve your customers?

I got a wash here because I had my oil changed at the service station Bob’s is attached to; they were like, «Yeah, an oil change includes a free wash!» but not really, when they charge $ 6 more than other places for an oil change. I was asked if I wanted to have the car’s inside vacuumed, which would’ve been great, since that hasn’t happened in uh… er… so I said yeah, lemme throw stuff in the trunk, and they informed me it’d be $ 5 extra. I said never mind.
The good part of the car wash is that it’s one during which you get to stay in the car. My parents never went to those when I was a kid, so it’s still completely novel for me and I howled and shrieked my happy way through. Once I emerged, the guys with rags sort of took a few swats at my car and I was waved along, only to find that while some amount of grime had, in fact, been cleaned off, I still had dirt and bird poop visible on my car. Not much of a wash.
