Found this place because I was looking for a vegan friendly place for my wife to eat. I’m not vegan but this place has regular food for us meat lovers «lol» and vegan items. We come when we can on Sundays for brunch. The coffee is soooo smooth a delicious!
Anywho everyone should stop by at least once.
Lastly if you’re into music and records there is a record store literally attached to them so that’s a plus when your waiting for a table. They will come find you in the store.
So hurry up n make your way down here!

Rushed in here in the morning on my way to work to try a new place for coffee and breakfast. Got a latte and lox flatbread.
If you’re in a rush, don’t get the lox flatbread, it took about 20 minutes for everything to be finished. Lox on the flatbread was abundant and definitely fresh! However if you don’t like salty, I’d probably stay away from this. Lots of lox and capers vs a very thin flatbread doesn’t balance out. The flatbread was more like a thin cracker that quickly became stale under the moisture of the lox.
I ran out and took my first sip of my latte on the freeway and wow, it was bad. No foam on top and bland. It tasted like ¾ of the cup was water! There really is nothing like bad coffee to make your morning commute even more miserable.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time, but maybe it was just an off morning. Hopefully if there is a next time, it will be full redemption and I’ll be proven horribly wrong!

Really enjoyed lunch! Great looking and even better tasting food. Large portions, also! Can’t wait to try breakfast here, the menu looks fantastic!

A very relax environment, staffs are friendly too.
Ordered a steak frites… the steak is a little dry, feel like kebab meat…
One downside is there is no parking lot, you may find a meter street parking if you are lucky… i parked 2 blocks away… well it may be a nice little walk after meal…

I might say one of the best coffee/​café restaurant in Long Beach. The ambiance is quite awesome cause it’s joint in with the Fingerprint store which is a record/​art/​creative store. I mean it felt like the grunge era all over again to just be in this place. The costumer service is really friendly and accommodating; I can’t say no more. I didn’t even get to the food yet, which is the best part.
The food are delicious and it’s hard to choose what to order cause they’re all good. My girlfriend went here before that’s why she ordered her favorite Mexican Chocolate Mocha which taste like creamy champorado (chocolate porridge) without the rice or oatmeal. It’s a unique flavor and quite delicious if you’re in to sweet stuff. She ordered the Berry Danish in the counter and that is quite tasty as well. It taste like a mixture of bagel cause of the chunky bread and the Berry made it super sweet.
Our main menus are 2 sandwiches which are Chipotle Bean Sandwich for me and Chicken Sandwich for her. I ordered their sweet potato with curry ketchup as a side and that was great; taste like a tandoori flavored fries cause of the ketchup. It’s a must! My Chipotle Bean Sandwich is a vegan menu consist of hummus and veggie burger. It felt like I’m eating meat; vegetarian people will love this place and newly veggie people. I’m not a vegan, but if all vegan food are like this, I might turn to one. Maybe. My girlfriend’s Chicken Sandwich is wow and really amazing; One of the best Chicken Sandwich in my opinion. The sauce and ingredients are fresh; they really know how to put on a sandwich. The chicken is so tender and it melts in your mouth in every bite. Overall, I like to eat here everyday, but I’ll be broke if I do that… So definitely go here and I recommend this to people.

Berlin Bistro, I love you. Whether it’s brunch, a burger, or coffee and a quick bite, you never fail to satisfy my foodie dreams. Great friendly service, coffee to go, and creative dishes. What more can you possibly ask for? Also, I love that you revamped your menu, and I want to try everything! Fact: the Berlin bowl is one of the best «comfort food» dishes I’ve ever had. The gravy is out of this world… so much salty goodness to be had. Though there have been long waits for our food (when we’ve visited it has always been packed and rightfully so), it’s well worth the wait, and we will be back again, and, again, and again.

I came here with my boyfriend for brunch on a Saturday around 11 am. There was around a 20 minute wait, which was painless because we just spent the time looking at all the cool records. (Surprisingly large selection from all genres.) We also ordered coffee to sip on while browsing. The Mexican Mocha was pretty good, and I usually don’t really like mochas. A small iced Mexican Mocha and a medium brewed coffee came out to around $ 6.
As soon as we were seated we were given menus– The service was very prompt and attentive! I ordered the eggs benedict and my boyfriend got the omelette and we both got bottomless mimosas. Shoutout to our server who made sure our mimosas were truly bottomless! The food was fantastic. I love that there is a variety of options to choose from, and the menu is not just filled with a bunch of different sweet pancakes and french toasts, since we both prefer savory breakfasts. Our total came out to around $ 43!!! Great deal for good food and drinks.
All in all, I would definitely come back here again. (Free street parking on the weekends!!)

Great spot! I ate here for dinner, but it’s a great place for a coffee date or to grab a beer too. You can order at the counter or dine in and get full service.
I had the Black Bean Burger. Super good! Great texture, nice presentation. Split a side of Pomme Frites mixed w/​sweet potato fries. Crispy, tasty, and enough for two to share, unless you’re really greedy with your fries.
My wife had the Guacamole Lettuce Wrap burger. «A party in my mouth», was her comment. She said it was the best lettuce-​wrapped burger she’s ever had, and she’s had plenty.
Marissa, our server was really friendly and attentive. When we asked about the source of some of their food, the chef, Tim, came out and talked to us about their food. It’s clear that he and Berlin really care about the food they put out, and where it comes from. They buy local produce from Farm Lot 59 right up the road. Support this place and feel good about it!

I don’t like how there seating works, if you only order a drink you had to sit at this tiny table and you can’t sit outside either. But besides that the coffee was great & the place had a great vibe!

Came here after a gem fair a while back because it was walking distance. Had the grilled cheese with soup and it was delicious. I will warn you it is on the greasy side which is what a grilled cheese usually is (I mean hello cheese & buttered bread) so you should know this, but my coworker kept mentioning it was greasy and didn’t eat much of it. Our other friend got some flatbread and loved it. Great location and cute outdoor seating area.

Love the quality of this place! The Eggnog latte tastes very rich and delicious. Just wish I had a shot of whiskey for it. Chocolate croissant had a generous amount of filling. Wonderful, not like Starbucks all croissant not much chocolate.
Can’t wait to walk here again for coffee and snacks.
Ps: friends tell me the lunch is outstanding…

Normally I would give Berlin a 4 or 5 star rating because it’s quite café. However, I recently experienced a rather awkward situation there when I was asked by a waitress if I could move from a dine in table (because I was taking too long order) and asked to move to a communal table.
A couple of things here, let me explain:
1) there is no sign that says dine-​in only, anywhere.
2) I was waiting for my boss who was running late and felt it would be rude if I ordered without her
3) since when is there a time limit to order? I had already purchased a coffee. This is coffee house right?
4) she did the same thing to an older woman sitting next to me who was reading the book, interrupted to say «are you just going to chill?».
I mean, how rude, no? I don’t ever like to right these types of posts but felt the need to because it’s been bothering me.
Berlin, I’ll give you another chance but it won’t be for a while. Sorry.

Visited the restaurant/​café on a Saturday afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised at what a wonderful cute place this was! While they offer brunch, lunch and dinner options, you can even come here to just grab coffee and get some studying done. They also offer happy hour options from 3−7pm, which is another plus!
Pros:
— Stumptown Cold Brew on draft (yummm!)
— From the Earth Salad — Its somewhat hard to be pleased with a salad in general, but the kale was really good even without dressing
— Fig Marscarpone Crostini– This was the highlight of my meal! Soo delicious! I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but the figs with honey and marscapone just melts in your mouth.
*2 hour metered parking is available on the street, but it is free on weekends!

I love Berlin bistro, very cool vibe. The Lavender Palmer is a must try. Its a little on the pricey side, but nothing out of the ordinary for the area. I like the flatbreads here. The Breakfast burrito is also very good.
They do have free wifi, get the code at the cashier. I like that its connected to the record shop the vibe is cool.

They have alot of dishes for vegetarians and they carry soy chorizo which its one of my favorite things to eat even though im not vegetarian .
We shared the Meat breakfast burrito: bacon avocado, hasbrown and dont remember what else whats in there but it was delicious also we shared the Brioche french toast pretty sweet and it came with berries on top we loved it .
The best part are the lattes for us cuz we need to start our morning with good coffee specially me cuz i get super crancky if its not strong and this was perfection, White chocolate mocha and Mexican chocolate mocha .
Our waitress Marie was absolutely the best server we ever had, she knew the menu very well and she suggested some dishes for us including our drinks. She was not rushing us at all and she was on it checking on us and making sure we were enjoying our plates .
Many dishes we wanna try so we will be back.

Free glass of red or white wine with a check in! But don’t bother — they forgot mine. After waiting 20 minutes to get seated, we waited another 30 minutes for our food to arrive after putting in our orders. They came around apologizing for having their orders backed up since their kitchen is small. You would think they’d have a way to mitigate the starvation they induce to their Sunday brunch crowd, but they don’t.
When our food arrived, I was shocked that our simple dishes took so. dam. long. We had the Berlin Bowl & Rustic Bowl.
Per their menu the Rustic Bowl includes: «Two poached eggs, braised kale and spinach, charred heirloom tomatoes, prosciutto, grilled tomato, grilled rustic bread.» What I ended up getting was more of a rusty bowl — Scrambled eggs instead of the poached eggs, no heirloom tomatoes, a «grilled» tomato that was more of a raw tomato with grilled remnants on it, & burnt slivers of rustic bread.
Berlin Bowl — For being a dish that holds the name of the restaurant, this dish wasn’t very impressive. It is exactly what the menu states in plain text and nothing more.
So many other places in Long Beach for brunch, don’t bother with Berlin Bistro unless you’re looking to have a half-​assed meal for double the wait time.

this deal is only good for one person per table. there are a lot of parking meters around the area that take credit cards so don’t worry about paying with coins! berlin bistro is also connected to the fingerprints record store. you can def check it out but just make sure you don’t bring alcohol inside the store.
my friend decided to have lunch here after graduating from CSULB! go beach! i ordered the steak frites & it came with pommes frites, & cauliflower. i ordered it RARE & it was good & flavorful. i might get medium rare next time because i had a hard time chewing. my friend got the kobe beef arugula burger & the presentation was so beautiful. it was decorated with flower petals & the colors were beyond amazing. the seared ahi salad was a bit spicy but tasty. it’s a nice meal if you want something light.
we all enjoyed our meal & the service was good. i would def come back to try the brunch! there are a lot of great choices. upon request you can ask your server for curry ketchup & spicy harissa.
