Belmont Shore KinderCare

I gave them a $ 100 deposit and was promised with absolute certainty that I had a spot in May. It is now the end of June and I haven’t heard anything. I am debating going to the BBB…

Disappointed.
We were put on the wait list in January and paid $ 100 for our spot. We were told we would be in the program for sure in November. This caused us to make plans for that and stop looking elsewhere.
Late June we get a phone call saying we no longer had a spot because they didn’t have room anymore.
This means that probably they bumped someone else ahead of us.
Not very professional.
Moral of the story, don’t count on your deposit meaning anything.

Our daughter Evelyn started at Kinder Care last year May.
The teachers here are very caring and friendly.
They have so much fun outdoor activities during summer which my daughter loves it.
My daughter used to cry when I dropped her off in the other day before Kinder Care but not anymore now…
My husband and I are so happy to have found Kinder Care. They have excellent teachers and a great Center Director (Miss Bernice).

This place is a joke! It’s accredited by NAEYC but have the licensing ratios, they have ages 0 – 1 with a ratio of 4 as soon a they are 2 years there ratio is 12 to 1 teacher and it is never the same teacher. Random subs, teachers quit every month, the management is so unorganized and the rooms are filthy because the teachers told me there is no janitor.

As good as it gets!!! Indeed. I was in search of a Daycare where I could leave my Daughter and not have to second guess if I had chosen right. I LOVE the Curriculum. When you walk in to the lobby you feel the warmth, You see the Children’s artwork on the walls and throughout the facility. The facility is ALWAYS clean, ALWAYS smells good (Thank you !) It sounds silly but other facilities overlook how important this is to a parent. All the teachers are AMAZING. My soon to be Three year old comes home happy, singing new songs, and the way she speaks of her Teachers would leave you Smiling. Thank you Ms. Bernice, Teacher Yoselin, Teacher Monia, Teacher Nancy and Ms. Mercedes for expanding her tastes in food! LOL Thank you doesn’t suffice my appreciation for you all !

I am giving Kindercare 2 stars based on organization and communication. I kept my 8 mo. daughter in mainly because I really loved one of the teachers in the class. My main problem was with the management so this rating is based on that. I just recently pulled my daughter out of the infant class and this is why:
1) My husband and I called the center on a Monday to ask a simple question about sick days. The person who answered the phone said that she did not know the answer to the question, but would leave the note for the Director to call us back. We did not hear back from her, so we called again on Thursday to follow up on our first call. The Director did not call us back again. We called on Friday for the 3^rd time and she did not call us back. Finally I see an email from the Director to all of the families, so I responded to her email to have her call us back and she finaaaally called after a total of 4 tries! She said that she must’ve missed the 3 messages? Hrmmmm. I appreciate that she is busy, but it took 5 days to finally get a hold of her and I had to track her down. Bad communication clue #1.
2) The final straw. I took my daughter to Kindercare on Friday and noticed that there weren’t that many kids in the class. I thought it was weird, but didn’t really overthink it. Over the weekend, my daughter started having cold symptoms and was throwing up at night. On Monday, when I went into Kindercare, I find out (too late) that one of the children in my daughter’s classroom came down with a respiratory virus called RSV. For adults, this virus is not very threatening, but for babies, it can be very harmful if it progresses. Apparently Kindercare posted a flyer on a cabinet to notify us the week before, which can be easily overlooked. Then I found out that all of the parents were given a flyer to notify everyone (which I didn’t received) and they were called to have their babies double checked by their doctors. Somehow they FORGOT to call us, which is really alarming. That day I decided to pull my daughter out of the daycare. It was the second time that the management had really poor communication and when it comes to having bad communication which concerns my daughter’s health, there is no room for negotiation… especially since she is under a year old and has not finished all of her vaccinations. Her doctor wanted to see her that day and it turns out that she did catch a bug that was probably caused by the virus and she had a really bad ear infection in both ears, which was causing the throwing up at night. I have another friend in the class who’s baby got it a lot worse. He had to be taken to the hospital after having a seizure.
One final note that I want to make is that I heard from another mom that Kindercare pays parents as an incentive to leave Unilocal reviews. Sure, they could leave a negative review, but I don’t see why they would if they are getting paid to do so, which makes me question if these other reviews are a true reflection of the quality of care they are receiving.
I know 2 other moms that have had problems with Kindercare, so I am going to urge them to leave reviews as well.

My son has been going to Kindercare for almost 2 years and he enjoys every minute of it. He has learned so much there from walking and talking to learning how to play with others.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The teachers have such patience and seem to genuinely care about the children.
The activities that are offered there are great, especially in the Summer as one day it could be splash day where they get to play in the water to having a visit from the firemen with their firetruck, (which my son really enjoyed). My son is always coming home with some kind of art project that he has enjoyed working on. They also take pictures of him to bring home for me so that even though I am not able to be with him all day, at least I get these great pictures of him being captured in these special moments.
Kindercare has put my mind at ease when I leave him there as I know he is in good hands.

This is actually a 5 start place but for some reason Unilocal won’t post my review if I put a 5, but they will if I rate it a 4.
Our son has been at Kindercare since he was 8 months old and he is now almost 2 ½. Prior to Kindercare, he was at another day care and we were not happy with the way the other day care ran. The pictures we would get from the other daycare were of our son watching TV. I don’t understand how they thought this was okay. Ever since he started at Kindercare, he has developed so quickly, from crawling, to walking, to running. His vocabulary has improved tremendously and it is great to see that he enjoys it. It is difficult leaving him each day but knowing that he is in great hands at Kindercare makes me feel better.
The teachers are so patient with all of the kids and they allow them to develop at their own pace. The teachers are always giving feedback on how our son is doing and they also offer suggestions if we run into any behavioral issues. Their first priority is to make sure whatever they are doing at daycare doesn’t conflict with what is being done at home. Belmont Shore Kindercare is great!

The teachers are amazing. My Little One has been in this day care since 10 months old & we have been with them for almost 2 years now. From the 1^st time I dropped my baby off till today, the teachers have been nothing but encouraging, compassionate and educational not just to my LO but to me and my husband as well. They are very well experienced and helped us keep up to date with child care and research to better engage our LO and excel in all his development areas.
Many other schools we had interviewed had TV time & asked for parents to call ahead before arriving. We were alarmed. During the time I had BF, they had encourage I came frequently to feed and to ease our separation. This school is the only school we felt fit for our LO.

My daughter LOVES coming here and gets very excited and happy as we pull up the car in the morning. Sometimes I have to drag her away in the afternoons — ha! The teachers are super attentive, caring and really get to know your kid. The director and her staff are professional, personable and helpful. The facility is clean, organized, bright and cheerful. I can’t say enough good things about them — highly recommend!

I love KinderCare and so does my son! I looked at 5+ options of daycare when my husband and I made the decision for me to continue working. KinderCare Belmont Shore stood out to me for many reasons — the cleanliness, the organization, the friendly staff, and the willingness to let me hang around just observing both teachers and kids.
At 22 months, our son attends part-​time (2-​days a week) and I feel such a sense of community and caring there every time I drop him off. Each class has monthly educational themes/​lesson plans which it follows offering continuous learning. They do art projects all the time and constantly take and share pictures of your child drawing, painting, playing, etc which helps the parents feel connected to their children’s classroom activities despite not being there. During the summer, they do special daily activities like «Thomas the Train Rides» and «Bouncy Houses» which gives the children a sense of that wonderful summer feeling!
I feel very fortunate to have found such a wonderful daycare for our son and highly recommend parents to take a look at Kindercare when considering a full-​time or part-​time daycare in the Long Beach area.

My son went to KinderCare starting as an infant at 4 months, when I (unwillingly!) had to go back to work. As a new mom with lots of ideas but no practical experience, I learned so much from the teachers in the infant room. One in particular, Sheryl, is a gem. They allowed my son and I to stay for a few hours every day before I had to leave him there for real, so that we could get used to it. And I was able to come in and nurse. The staff are loving and attentive, and keep the kids active and outside. My son attends a different preschool now but we were very happy during the 3 years he was at this location.

i love this child care my son attended here since he was three months also my two daughters attended there since they were three months the teachers do an excellent job taking care of my children. I feel good going to work knowing that my kids are safe and in good hands. the teachers listen to any special request and the communication is excellent I LOVE THIS PLACE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

Our daughter started when she was 21 months. She loves it here :) the staff is very caring and friendly; they genuinely care about the kids and helping them develop. Every day we are greeted with big smiles. It is really a great place with great people!

I absolutely LOVE this facility. I enrolled my son almost two months ago and he is thriving! The teachers/​directors are very professional and courteous. The lines of communication amongst the staff and parents/​families are wonderful. My son adjusted quickly and loves coming to school. My son and I couldn’t be happier!!!

I have 2 kids, now 2.5 and 4, and each of them have been attending this facility since they were 6 months old. I am continuously amazed by how much they learn while at «school». It’s not cheap, but with all that they get out of it, the money is definitely worth it.
It is very clean and professional environment, and all of the teachers have been very friendly. I value the corporate structure, and quality assurance that it provides. We also appreciate the regular feedback we get on the kids, whether it is the daily reports telling what they ate and discussed in class that day, or the semi-​annual teacher conferences.
We have definitely gotten more out of this day care than we anticipated. We will be relocating in a few months, and I only hope the Kinder Care where we are going is as good as this one!

Checked out this place as a potential Kinder Care for my daughter and the staff was very friendly and facilities are clean, organized and secured.
As I walked thru the place all the kids look happy and having fun, they like the teachers, and large classrooms.
Rates are reasonable compared to other schools also. If you do decide to put a deposit it must be check or money order only.
Will update review if I sign up my daughter here.

My daughter started going to Belmont Shore KinderCare at three months old and is now almost two, and we love it! My daughter has loved all of her teachers, the are so incredible, kind and loving. Everyday is seems like my daughter is learning something new, I could not be more happy with the education she is receiving. It is a wonderful feeling knowing you are dropping your child off in good hands and that she is excited and happy to be there.

Safe, clean, and professional

All mothers are terrified of leaving their babies in the hands of a complete stranger on a daily basis… and I was one of them! I have had the most amazing experience at this Kinder Care. Not once did I feel it was a just another child care business trying to milk me for money… it felt rather like an extension of my family. The teachers in the toddlers classroom are so hands-​on and excellent at giving you a daily report and your child’s progress. Since my daughter started there, they have made me feel like she’s their only child they are watching because they pay attention to each child so individually. Today is my daughters last day because we are relocating and I am so sad to see her go. She RUNS into kinder care now to see her friends and asks to go there on the weekend! I appreciate everything they’ve done and I give Bernice, Rene and the teachers 5 stars all around!
