Amazing absolutely amazing! The quality of everything is phenomenal! Best sandwich I’ve ever had hands down and they gave a crazy amazing selection of authentic Italian goods!

Good lord my #1 Italian Trio sandwich was good!!! The best I’ve ever had and probably ever will have. Can’t imagine how it could have tasted any better or been more fresh. I was full after eating half but couldn’t stop the bliss and ate the whole thing. The meat, cheese, seasoning, veggies and bread were 10⁄10. Stupid good. The cashier said my sandwich would be ready in 3 minuted as soon as I ordered it. By the time our transaction was finished he looked up and said«one more minute.» Less than 60 seconds later he strutted out of the back with my sandwich and proudly said«My wife said 3 minutes, she’s very fast.» I was delighted to say the least. All smiles from food to service. HIGHLY recommend! 10 flippin stars!

I’m Italian, raised by an Italian family. In college I lived in the North End of Boston(little Italy) surrounded by 100% Italians and Italian restaurants. This Italian Deli has some of the Best Italian sandwiches I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of Italian sandwiches and subs. Only way it could get better is if you were in Italy.

I’m sorry but these sandwiches are not good at all. Expensive, mediocre service, mediocre sandwiches. Never again. We ordered Two small sandwiches, chips, 1 meatball(for our 1 year old son), and pasta(which btw we asked for a very small amount after specifying that it would be for our small son. The owner brought to our table a pound of pasta without checking with us if we would want to pay for that much because my husband and I were not going to have any. The owner told us that he couldn’t give us anything less as we requested and then quickly walked away). All the other people working there were willing to give us what we requested, unfortunately the owner was not. I also would like to point out that this is NOT a deli the way Bay Cities in Santa Monica or in Reseda, Ca is.

I picked up a 3 meat combo sandwich and a hot pastrami. Both sandwiches were fantastic! The combo came on a long Italian loaf that was very fresh, soft but had the right texture that good bread should have. The pastrami was a hot pressed panini with mustard and pickles. I highly recommend Angelo’s when you want a good Italian sandwich.

Let me just preface this by saying I ate sandwiches every single day for lunch for two years straight practically and by the end of it I was sick of sandwiches and didn’t want to waste any going-out-restaurant-time on sandwiches. Prior to this, I would have Subway every once in awhile for lunch. After those two years? Didn’t want a sandwich anymore, not when there were other options. Until today. The outside and inside of this place is unassuming, and the menu is simple. I wasn’t sure what to expect given the humble appearance, but there were so many rave reviews I had to try and I happened to be on Second street. I was the only person in the place when I walked in, and a guy came in from the back. I ordered the torpedo sandwich, large, so I could split it with my hubby. I walked to the back and noticed a «Welcome» sign on top of a doorway. That must be the market, I thought. I walked in and the smell was amazing. It reminded me of The Phoenix Pastificio in Berkeley where I bought the most wonderful pasta sauce ever. It was a little awkward and hard to know what was going on behind the glass cases though. I queried«What is this?» to one of the guys and he said«It’s sauce. Do you want to buy it?» «No…» Hmm. I wasn’t sure how to get him to tell me what it was. Surely that smell wasn’t JUST sauce. Or was it? Oh well. I think the owner of the place tried to tell me more about it as I walked out with my torpedo sandwich. Anyway. I ate my half of the sandwich and it was delicious! I really want the other half, but I’ll refrain, for now.

It’s hard for me to believe it’s been almost 6 years since I was last here but the dates don’t lie. The torpedo sandwich(double meat this time) was still crazy fresh and delicious. We also ordered the fresh pasta salad, some marinated artichoke hearts and a medley of Italian olives. It was all great. The counter gal in the back was not real warm but whatever. The food is delicious.

Unorganized to begin with for a small family owned restaurant. Prices were steep for a sandwich $ 9 – 12. The amount of food you get is quite large though. Reggae music playing in a «Italian» style interior messes with the brain a bit…

I have no idea about the in-store customer service because I ordered 5 large turbo subs for a family picnic happening the following day and had a friend pick them up an hour later. First time I’d been there, but I saw the reviews that said«great bread.» I was nervous that I would be refrigerating these subs overnight, but they were PERFECT! They put the oil/vinegar on the side and cut the subs into four pieces each. My family was verklempt they were so good. I mean RAVING and said that they would all go in on these sandwiches next time we had a thing. My sister bought lasagna, like two huge ones,(Italian themed picnic) and no one wanted them after eating these sandwiches, which were sooo good and very filling. The bread was perfection(even after a night in the fridge) and the meat and cheese and pesto combo was perfectly balanced and truly told a story in your mouth(too much?) So for like 5×11 bucks, I fed over 15 people, and I’m now the most popular sister(sorry, Lasagna Robin). My other sister called me the next morning(sh you not) to rave about the sandwiches some more, weird. So, yeah. I’m going back.

Worst customer service. I called for take out and they didn’t explain about their frozen soup that we heat up it was very odd. He was very impatient and said«call back when your ready». I felt that was very rude for a paying customer. He was pushy and we will No longer be going back here. We live on 2nd st and this was a place we could count on for good sandwiches, good customer service is necessary!

Five stars is for the sandwich it was delicious. Service however, not so great. I came in ordered my sandwich with the girl(who didn’t look very cheery) and halfway through my order she starts taking the order of some guy behind me. Who turns out had been waiting for his food and they forgot about him. So I sit to wait for my order another guy walks in, orders. I’m waiting.waiting. He gets his food I finally get up and the guy at the counter asks what I’m waiting for -.- this is all in a span of about 20 minutes. I could understand if they had a line out the door you forget an order here and there but I was the o my other person in the building along with a group that was sitting down and already had their food.

Amazing! Had a prosciutto sandwich there the other day. Super good. It smells so good in there. They make their own bread and have a nice selection of Italian grocery items. It’s tucked away off of 2nd St so it’s easy to drive past it but try not to!

This joint is great! If you want to try an authentic Italian Sandwich, this is the spot! My girlfriend and I decided to grab a quick bite; we randomly chosen this place. Our server is very friendly and helpful for first timers. My girl ordered their Roast Turkey sandwich and I ordered the Buon Gusto Salami sandwich. We shared half of it together and we think it’s so fresh. It is awesomely fresh that it feels like a salad sandwich. Their meats are juicy and it doesn’t feel like factory made. They’re fresh tomatoes didn’t came on that day, but even though our sandwiches are still the bomb! The sandwich bread is perfect to absorb that juicy vegetables and meat; so crispy from the outside and juicy from the inside. It’s a perfect Italian Sandwich! My girl and I ordered their Crème Brule, too from the market inside the deli and it was great for our sweet tooth. The market inside the deli feels like a market from the old days; felt like watching travel channel. We will definitely go back here again and try different sandwiches :)

I’m on a mission to try all of the eateries on 2nd St. When I go out to eat, I tend to never crave sandwiches, so before today, I have never been to Angelo’s despite living in Belmont Shore for over a year. It’s so hot today that I felt as if a sandwich would be the perfect lunch/dinner. Angelo’s has a restaurant and a deli that are connected by the kitchen. I was at the deli today, which also has tables if you wish to sit there and eat. So, this review is for the deli side only. Per Unilocal popularity, I got the torpido sandwich which is basically a variety of Italian meats, cheese, tomato, provolone, onions, garlic spread, and lettuce with balsamic vinegar. The sandwich was DELICIOUS. The bread is slightly crunchy on the outside and very soft on the inside. It was crusty and the perfect vehicle for the meat and veggies. So good. The ratio of meat to veggies was on point. The sandwich was beautifully put together and a pure joy to eat. The flavors all blended perfectly. The saltiness from the meat, richness from the cheese, creaminess from the garlic spread, tanginess from the balsamic, and freshness from the veggies = flavor explosion. I’m sad that I didn’t try this sandwich before! It was bomb dot com. It’s $ 9 for a small(6 inch) and $ 11 for a large(11 inch) — why would anyone ever get a small?! I will definitely be back in the near future.

I’ve been a long-time fan of their infamous Torpedo sandwich – fresh bread filled with Italian cured meats, lettuce, tomato, and slivers of red onion. In addition to the quality of ingredients that make this sandwich good, the garlic spread puts it over the top! Assuming you love garlic as much as I do, of course. I also love their imported Italian products and now there’s a connected, sit-down restaurant that’s taken the place of Phuket Thai. Awesome! I need to try more sandwiches, but when I find something good, it’s hard to peel my interest elsewhere :-)

Getting better by the minute! Puket Thai replaced by Angelos. Great idea. Suggest installation of an all you can drink soft drink fountain, a couple more TV monitors and some cold beer! Still almost the best Italian sub around! Meatball sandwich and pasta salad, a must!
