Unexpressed emotions, errors of excess, and diversity of phenomena, perceived from one human being to another, are what pioneering American psychologist and philosopher William James termed ‘a certain blindness’. As human beings, we are largely unaware of our specific ‘blindness’. Rarely do we pause to observe it, question where it came from, ponder what purpose it serves, or question how significantly it frames, alters, limits or informs our perceptions. As such, these errors can become seemingly insurmountable obstacles to both individual and collective growth. Likewise, they often become the foundation upon which dis-ease manifests in our minds, bodies or spirits.

A Certain Blindness (ACB) was founded on the experiential knowledge that locked or bottled-up emotion, positive or negative, compounded by compromised perception can lead to quantifiable dis-ease. This premise is further supported by advanced academic studies in clinical and transpersonal psychologies, expressive art therapies and holistic healing modalities. Most importantly, it is the result of a transformative personal experience with a life-threatening dis-ease. It is therefore ACB’s greatest pleasure to assist you in identifying and managing your unique ‘blindness’, so that you, too, may begin your journey towards optimum health.

Wherever you are located, working with ACB empowers you to move toward positive change…

History

Established in 2011.

After experiencing a debilitating and life-threatening disease, Brooke, dedicated herself to the exploration and practice of holistic modalities, which transformed her life entirely, reorienting her career. Moreover, it redefined her understanding of the etiology and management of physical & mental disease. She now practices and advocates for a holistic approach, which focuses on healing the whole: mind, body, spirit and emotion. Brooke was inspired to create ACB in response to escalating synchronicity, which continually illuminated public interest in her journey towards optimum health & wellness. She has since opted to defy clinical convention, and openly share her story in an effort to guide others, and introduce them to the power of alternative healing modalities. Holistic healthcare often proves overwhelming to new persons on its path. Hence, Brooke founded ACB, in part, to assist fellow travelers while utilizing the innumerable skills she attained as both clinician and patient.
