Food was great. Service was a bit of a joke, our server changed a couple times. We had completely finished our water and three people walked by and we couldn’t make eye contact or get them to refill it. I expect more at your prices.

Was in the mood for some Sushi and hit up Unilocal and this was the nearest place to work that had positive reviews from my fellow Unilocalers! I had a decent sushi combo plate that included some tasty salmon, pretty good Tuna and some out of this world white Tuna. Decent price for Decent sushi is always a great thing! So although not up there with the best Sushi places I have been too it certainly quenched my sushi craving at a reasonable price!

Glad I found John Holly’s when searching for an appropriate meet-up spot for a lunch date. Word to the wise: get here early, whether it’s for lunch or dinner, because this place HOPS. It’s gotta be the quality of the food that draws people back again and again. Service? So so. Our orders got messed up and it took longer than necessary to get it straightened out — but once we did, the food was fresh and hot and visually so appealing! I could not decide what to order from the lunch menu. No surprise here — I love anything with dumplings, noodles, and peppers. I finally landed on, you guessed it: Mongolian Beef. Butter-soft beef and a slightly-tangy sauce. My friend ordered pepper shrimp and it was a blast of colors on a plate! All in all I would definitely return and I would recommend it for lunch — reasonable prices and good portions.

Would not recommend. Ordered a crispy chicken dinner and it came out with a hair in the chicken. Re-ordered a teriyaki chicken and it also came out with hair in the chicken. Asked to speak to the manager, who didn’t understand what I was saying, and seemed uninterested. The waiter also was uninterested. Would not go back.

So, I picked up my significant other to go for lunch, something we very rarely get to do. I drove by this place on my way to get work. When she asked where we should eat, I brought up the name and she stopped me in my tracks. She said it is so good that her company has them on speed dial. Boom!!! Just like that, we were there. The food was good and they had great lunch specials. For $ 7 and some change, I was given a bowl of egg drop soup, a spring roll and a huge plate of Lo-Mein with Chicken. Everything was very good and I will definitely come back. They were very fast and seemed aware that everyone was just on their lunch break. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was there was so much Lo-Mein and not a ton of chicken. My wife’s plate had a ton of chicken on it, so that’s how I compared it.

Unilocal, you let me down. I expected better from the reviews I read here. The good: the spicy tuna roll was pretty decent. The food itself was good. Nothing to write home about, but decent enough. The bad: the service was chaotic and left us feeling very unappreciated. They gave me the wrong food, I inadvertently started eating it before they came back and told me I had the wrong food. I said that I had started eating it and was fine keeping it, if they could just make the price adjustment on our check. I told two people. No price adjustment. If it hadn’t taken 10 to get our waiter, I would have asked a third time. To add insult to injury? All the tables around us got pineapple or Mochi with their check. We got ignored. Sorry to say, $ 50 later, we left disappointed and annoyed. Won’t be coming back.

Great mix of food for everyone. Colorful flavoring, fine selection, open atmosphere, and great serving staff. I highly recommend!!!

I always order delivery, and while their delivery time is pretty consistent(45min-1hour), the food has become less and less consistent over the last couple of years. Sometimes it’s very good, but sometimes it’s so bad I would barely consider it edible. Once I ordered ~$ 60 of sushi that took over an hour to be delivered and was actually warm by time I got it. No, it didn’t taste anything close to ok, but after that long of a wait, who wants to argue. Bring back standards and consistency to your food. For now, I’ll be ordering Chinese delivery from somewhere else.

Outstanding service, outstanding food. Four of us visited for lunch. The place was packed but we were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was great. We all ordered something different and it all was delicious.

Wow! I think my mom and I found our new weekend lunch date spot. John Holly’s has awesome lunch specials. Really awesome. Unlike most restaurants that offer just weekday lunch specials, John Holly’s includes Saturday and Sunday and runs from 11am-3pm. Their regular lunch items(like Kung Pao Shrimp, Crispy Honey Chicken, etc.) range from about $ 7 to $ 11. Serving sizes are HUGE(you will definitely take half of your meal home, so no need to worry about cooking dinner that night!) and all of those lunch specials come with two huge scoops of rice, a vegetable spring roll, and choice of soup. Craving sushi for lunch? Also a great value– most of the sushi lunch specials range from $ 7-$ 10. The atmosphere of the restaurant is peaceful and comfortable, service is prompt and polite… I have no complaints! I’ll definitely be back!

I am impressed with the quality of the fish here. Especially my favorite Saba Sashimi(Mackerel). Fresh as can be! They’re nicely prepared as well. The portions were awesome. Not too big that it becomes gross to put in your mouth but not too small that it feels like you’re being swindled. We sat at the bar. The chef was on top of it. The staff as well. No wonder it’s Adam’s go to sushi place. The only thing I want added in their California Roll was some sesame seeds. To me it just taste better with. Personal preference. Although without it I would still order this in combo with my Saba sashimi.

Ordered delivery from this place based on the generally good reviews, but was left disappointed. The Kung Pao Chicken was exceptionally bland — almost no spice whatsoever and it didn’t taste of much of anything. My first bite had some bone shards left inside. I also had a Shrimp Tempura Roll, which was much better than the chicken dish, but the end piece that had the tail decoratively coming out was done in such a way that the shrimp meat in the piece itself still had the shell on. Not the best bite. The fortune cookie was good, but I wouldn’t go back or order again.

I normally am not a fan of commercial chain restaraunts, and while this place is located at Park Meadows Mall, I was very pleasantly surprised. The staff were incredibly quick and attentive, and the place seemed far more upscale than what you’d normally find in the vicinity of a suburban shopping mall. The sushi itself was all very fresh, and the menu had something for a diverse amount of tastes. They appeared to be having a bit of a plumbing issue in the ladies room, which no one seemed to be aware of, but other than that I was impressed with this place.

I have figured out that Lone Tree just doesn’t get it when it comes to food. Someone must have investments in some of the most average restaurants in Denver. And John Holly’s is another one of those amazingly average food spots. On this latest business lunch, I found the honey chicken as hopefully a sweet and savory protein source. However, it was more of a mushy chicken-like substance surrounded by fried breading and sauce that vaguely resembled the juice that sits at the bottom of a trash bin. Yeah, I know. GROSS. The only savior was the rice, which I promptly drowned in soy sauce. The fortune cookie also sent me good tidings, which I promptly disregarded. And this review needs to end, just like the lunch that I wanted to move on from, quickly.

This place was close to my hotel and I wanted something Asian(ok… not as authentic as I am used to). My waitress was very nice, but she really didn’t have too much knowledge about the beers they had on tap. I ordered a Sam Adams(thinking it was Boston Lager), but I got a very light blonde lager. When asked for the type of Sam Adams it was, my waitress said she did not know there was more than one, but she would check. She came back and said they didn’t know because it was just in a keg. Anyway, I didn’t come here for the beer. I came to try the food. No complaints here. Not authentic, but it’s what the demographic calls for here. I ordered the wonton soup and honey crispy chicken and they were both tasty. The honey crisp chicken was better than panda’s orange chicken(probably a bit healthier too). A-OK with me.

Went here for takeout and it was actually a pretty good place! The servers are very hospitable — I ordered takeout and while waiting, she even offered me a drink while I wait. The menu is pretty big. Judging by the language, they workers here are Chinese. But the food is far from simple Chinese. I got the basil chicken and the portion was huge, not to mention extremely flavorful! It was 12.95, but well worth it. Easily shareable. It comes with a side of rice which I hardly touched, since I just kept eating the chicken. The lobster spring roll was a bit gimmicky. Kind of oily, but nothing too crazy. I wouldn’t get again. The hot and sour soup was typical. It was cold by the time I got home so I didn’t really enjoy it as much as I probably would have. All in all, I would order from here again if I was in the area.
