The Smog Depot is a hidden gem with great hours. This place is very convenient if you’re in the South Bay.
I originally found them open at 5:45pm on a Saturday, after all the other smog check places had long since closed, and he still took my car in!
Smog Depot at 2000 W. Lomita Blvd in Lomita is not like your typical smog check. Well, it is pretty no-​frills, but that’s where the similarities end. Like a good doctor, the owner Dave makes it a point to take his time on each car to try to get you passed and on your way. He’s also a car enthusiast, not some irritated Asian guy running the family business, which is refreshing. Price is reasonable.
I have four cars in the family and this is the only place I go now. I’ve never been disappointed. My only word of caution: he gets busy, so come early!
