Bring three of my vehicles here for two years now. Nothing but trust… nothing but great results. Prices very reasonable and most important I don’t feel pressured and I don’t feel dirty when I leave… know what I mean?

These guys are idiots! Took my car there for an oil change and said they looked over my car and put air in my tires. Thought it made sense until one of my tires blew out today. Checked my air pressures and found the rest of my tires 20 psi over recommended. Planning to sue them for damages!

My family has been going here for over 20 years and the quality and swiftness of the service is always fantastic! I think everyone should support small, family run businesses in their community and Gasser’s would be a great place to start!

Brought my 74 chevy pickup in today, was hard enough trying to find a mechanic even willling to do minor repair on an older vehicle. These guys diagnose my issues same day and expect to finish the job in 2 business days… family owned and operated a plus, support local businesses!

Found this place using Unilocal.With overwhelmingly good reviews, I figured I’d give them a try. I’m certainly glad I did!
My Ford was having electrical lighting issues with the right rear tail lamp. After speaking to a Ford mechanic, he advised that it was as a result of a switch or relay failure: $ 300 to fix!
So I went to Gasser’s and met with Kurt and Keith. They immediately determined that the cause was unrelated to any switch (or relay) and could be fixed for about $ 35 including all new bulbs (even for the third rear taillight). They fixed the issue AND I got an oil change for the truck in less than an hour all for under $ 80!
Very honest and accommodating family owned business. I highly recommend.

On the list of Lomita Historical Places. .. . just kidding, but IF there were such an honor, Gasser’s Garage would be on the list. Their sign says serving Lomita since 1929; Henry Ford began Ford Motor Company only 26 years before. Gasser’s Garage has been in business nearly as long as automobiles have existed in America.
Our family started taking our cars to Gasser’s Garage in the 1970s, when Joe Gasser was still running the ranch. Since then, we continue to be loyal customers. Keith and Kurt Gasser are carrying on the family tradition — they and their crew are meticulous automotive mechanics, and the office runs like a small CPA firm.
3 THINGS about Gasser’s matter: Always fair in their pricing, truly hard working and honest folks, and they make good on their promises and back their work. Could other things in our lives work this well, please?
Oh, and just one more thing. .. . the name Gasser for an automotive repair garage. .. Gasser’s Garage. .. . PERFECTION. Only found in Lomita, California, folks. .. . Build it and they will come.

These guys are awesome! Brought my 54 Bel Air in to replace the master cylinder which I had already tried to remove but couldn’t. If anyone knows about these cars you know the master cylinder is under the drivers floor board and not on the firewall.
I didn’t even know where the all the parts I took off were. Didn’t matter, they were able to knock this out way faster than I thought they would, and at a fair price.
I will definitely be coming back here for any work I need done. Great service and great people.

I have never dealt with more trustworthy auto garage. They have always been fair priced and honest with their assessments. They have been here for generations and their experience is evident; they have yet to be stumped by any of my car issues. They are patient with last minute drop-​ins and usually there is no charge when one needs for them to «look at» a problem when they drop-​in. Kirk, Keith, Eric and the rest, including Christina in the office, are quite knowledgeable on auto issues, even the new technologies.
It’s reassuring to know that there is a mechanic I can trust and go to in a time of need.

I used to have a ’93 full size white Ford Bronco. Yes, an «OJ Machine.» Since I never go to dealers, I was looking for an independent place to get some repair work done. It’s not as easy as you might think to find a place that specializes in domestics. Since I lived in the neighborhood, I had driven by many times and seen older American cars being serviced. So when it was time with my Bronco, I gave them a shot.
Everyone is always very pleasant and professional. Prices aren’t cheap, but they’re fair. They also stand behind their work. When my truck was making strange noises after a repair, I took it back. They were happy to do further diagnosis and repair at no additional cost.
If you live in the South Bay and you have an American vehicle from 1955 to 1995, this is probably your best possible choice. I have also referred my mother-​in-​law, and she brings her Ford Escape here religiously. Her husband, Bob K. also brings his Tahoe here. His review is below.

Wonderful place to take your car… or in my case, my jeep! As a female who doesn’t know much about cars, I always dread going in for auto repairs. Keith and Kirk run an outstanding, fair and HONEST business and nobody is nicer or sweeter than Christina who runs the front office! I’ll be bringing my jeep here from now on for repairs, great or small. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants a great, family run business who won’t take advantage of you.

I had done a dumb thing and broke a locking lug nut so bad that no matter what I tried, I could not get it off. I finally decided to pay the stupid tax and have someone else hassle with it.
Took it to Gassers and they had it fixed within 2 hours. Didn’t damage the rim in the process and charged what I consider a very fair price.
I couldn’t be happier. Highly recommended.

This is a good garage and have a good trust for them. They are not the cheapest but they are not the most expensive. Our family has been going for years. Replaced a complete engine on my 69 Chevelle to other large and small repairs on every car we have. I like that fact that we have been going to them since 1992 at least and if I have minor problems that I can fix but have question on they are willing to lend advice when I do that work and when their are issues I have had them resolved.

My wife and I drove down from Santa Barbara to Lomita to purchase a 1962 Cardinal travel trailer and discovered that we couldn’t get the tow lights to work. Luckily for us Gassers Garage was across the street from where we picked up the trailer. I spoke with Keith Gasser who said he’d do his best to get us back on the road to Santa Barbara as soon as possible and gave us a reasonable estimate for the repair. Well, the repairs were more involved than anticipated and Keith worked through his lunch hour along with another mechanic to get the trailer and our truck electrical fixed.
When they were finally done, both the truck and trailer were working perfectly and the final bill was the same as the estimate. Keith could have doubled the estimate and I would have still been happy. We made it back home without a hitch (pun intended).
It is a real pleasure to find honest mechanics when at ones mercy and in a real bind. I highly recommend this shop for any repair work.

This is a local garage for me, always finding the service impeccable and have forwarded many friends and family there. Kirk and Keith have taken over the family business from their dad continuing to provide honest and responsible work with great integrity and pride. Seriously, this is hard to come by these days. Drop by some time and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

I took my Chevy diesel truck in there, it is a little older and sort of a rare bird in California but they took great care of me. My brakes were not working properly due to about 3 things wrong, the manager showed me everything and fixed me up no problem, charged me a good rate and did not overcharge at all for parts, which is my pet peeve. We also chatted about my wife’s car not passing smog and he recommended a muffler shop to put in a catalytic converter for cheap, even though he wasn’t making any money on the deal. Bottom line, I had a great experience there and trusted them to do the job right.

I have a classic 1957 Chevy and Gassers has worked on it before. I recently had it towed there when I thought it had a leak in the fuel tank. They confirmed that I did and said it would be about $ 800 to fix. This sounded ridiculous so I told them I had to think about it. I ended up towing the car home and doing some more research. We figured out that the fuel tank was perfectly intact and it was only a cracked rubber hose line that cost me under $ 20 to fix. I hate when garages take advantage of people and this one definitely lost my business.
