All of our work is guaranteed for 24 months/24,000 miles! No job is too big or too small for us. We even provide free shuttle service and complimentary car washes!

History

Established in 1976.

Owner Michael Stevenson started Import Automotive in June of 1976 in an old gas station building in Redlands California. As the growing business expanded and more space was needed, the business was moved to it’s present Loma Linda location in Feburary 1981.

I like to tell my customers and friends that I started my business before I was old enough to know better. I was born a motor head! My first paying job came when I was about 12 years old. My grandfather gave me his old broken lawnmower that I fixed and sold at a yard sale for $ 15. So, after my formative years were filled with car stuff, and after working for a couple of independents and one dealer, I started my business in 1976 at the age of 23 in an old 2 bay gas station. I did it all myself with a lot of encouragement and just a little financial help from my parents.

Foreign cars have always intrigued me. I find them more interesting and challenging to work on. So, I decided to specialize in imports and named my business Import Automotive. In 1976 this was a real business advantage. There were very few independent shops that would even touch an import car and customers were desperate for a dealership alternative.
