Char-Bett’s is a must, always make multiple stops here when we come from California to visit family. Burgers, fries, onion rings, sundaes, Arctic swirls… never disappoint!!! Tried the other places but just no comparison!!!

Nostalgic little drive-in, ice cream shop that’s been around since the 50’s. Original owners were CHARlie and BETTy Streu, hence the name of the place Char-Bett. The food is great drive-in food such as burgers, hot dogs, tenderloins, fries, etc. The ice cream is still so delicious. I still love the orange pineapple. If you look at the menu and wonder what is a top hat, that’s their name for the chocolate dipped cones. Car hop service starts after 4pm.

Had double cheeseburger, fries and slaw. Burger great. Slaw amazing and fresh. Fries just ok. Soda cups on small side. Cost was decent. My husband and I ate for under $ 15. Car hop service after 4pm.

I must have ate here a million times as a kid. Family friends are the owners and I was impressed with the low cost fried fish sammich and fries and I enjoyed the coleslaw. I also had a chocolate malt made with frozen custard and it was so thick and delicious. YUM! And a cute place to stop right when you get into town. Closed for the winter! I used to ice skate on the parking lot when there was a freeze. true story!

Never disappointed here. Everything is amazing. Ice cream and food alike. I grew up going to this place because we lived so close, and it has become a favorite in my adulthood too. The slushies with ice cream are a perfect blend of drink and snack. I love the potato wedges with sour cream, that is some tasty stuff right there! I love everyone who works there too, always sweet and patient when I can’t decide what to get. They have great suggestions too and laugh at my jokes. I will be back whenever I can!

I go by this little drive-in every 2 weeks taking my sons home to Mishawaka. It must go back to early 60’s or possibly 50’s with a great road sign. We typically stop for the hard ice cream like the red indian, et. al. no soft serve here. But now and then my son will get a BLT. Well this past weekend we all had sandwiches and it was all delicious. I had a deluxe double cheeseburger and it was excellent! It was real hamburger and cooked just like a homemade hamburger by your mom! I was so impressed that I had to try the grilled tenderloin which was also excellent and one of the best I’ve had. If you traverse Indiana vertically every other week, like I do, or even horizontally, I recommend this stop. It beats the hell out of stopping for chain fast food in Logansport or continuing to Rochester. Greg

Outstanding ice cream stand that has been here as long as I can remember. Good fries– great prices! I usually just get a Pepsi float for nostalgia’s sake but everything is good here.
