Dr. Mook of Beckman optometry gave me a very thorough exam and was extremely knowledgeable in helping me understand what the issue with my eyes are. The staff was courteous and friendly and helped me pick out some great frames, presenting me with options that I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. My glasses came in quickly and the lenses are high quality. Will be back next year!

Responsive to phone and email inquiries.
Office and the equipment is very clean and seemingly up-​to-​date with newer devices. In other words, it doesn’t appear to be old, outdated and stodgy.
The fancy test referenced by reviewer Kendyce M. is the optomap and yes it costs $ 40. You are not forced into having that test done. So opt out if you dont want it. Remember, its your money.

This is my favorite optometry practice in Lodi. I Ilke Dr Beckman a lot. She also has some newer high tech equipment. The staff was pretty helpful in finding glasses for a hard to fit big headed, blind person.

I chose her office after interviewing her about her involvement in some community projects, like the WOW Science Museum and one of the Rotary clubs in the area.
If you go to her for an eye exam, take note of the following:
pro– Dr. Beckman is easy to talk to and will answer any of your questions about your eyes. She told me some areas of concern and some ideas for resting my eyes if I work on the computer a lot.
con — She will try to sell you on laser eye surgery. She and her whole entire family has had it done and they all love it.
con — If you are considering contact lenses and not lasers, you must remember to tell her before she puts the dilation drops in your eyes or does that other, new-​fangled test. If you don’t bring up the subject of contact lenses, she’ll tell you to come in again for a second exam (therefore, second copay) to get fitted for them.
n/​a — Speaking of that new-​fangled test you can get instead of the drops, it costs like $ 40 or so. Might be worth it if you can’t wear sunglasses all day.
tie — Their selection of glasses frames is not the greatest but the prices are fair. Look to spend about $ 100. If you need glasses, and want to buy elsewhere, ask for your prescription.
