Michael Camastro Golf Academy

A friend bought a groupon for my birthday a 50 minute private lesson. I was a bit uncertain as to how this would be but why not try it. I scheduled the appointment on-​line. Mike has his business set up by the driving range. When I arrived Mike was ready. He asked me to get out an 8 iron and start loosening up. The area is private from the driving range so no pressure of someone watching. As I was loosening he explained that he will video my swing and then review and offer suggestions to improve. As I was swinging away he was taping. I then pulled out my driver and he did the video. By watching he immediately knew what I needed work on. As we sat down to watch the video, he was explaining what I was doing and had a split screen showing a professional just to give the view of proper technique.
What a mess I was. If the Pro he was comparing me with was next to me he would have smacked me with his club. My swing was not pretty, it was quite eye opening to see. At that point Mike reviewed and showed in detail of what I was doing wrong. Then he took me back out and showed me a few ways to improve. He had me changed the way I held the club, lining up to the ball and distance. After a few practice swings and getting used to the new ways, it was time to hit for real. Once again I pulled out a few clubs and started hitting and having the video taken. I immediately noticed a huge improvement on accuracy and making solid contact.
Mike took me back in and showed the video. Huge difference, I looked more like the Pro now. He showed me on split screen my old swing and new one. Wow, I’m sure the Pro would now talk to me. For 50 minutes it was well worth it. Mike is a professional, patient and helpful. He said I need to keep practicing and my game will improve. He did not push and say I have to come back for more lessons. Instead he said just practice and if you want some more help call and schedule. The final thing was he emailed me the lesson so I can watch and review what I learned. My game did improve, I will go back for some more lessons.
