We are also very sensitive to our patients who experience high fear and apprehension associated with dentistry. Dr. Xiao is specially trained and board certified in Oral Conscious Sedation and can offer high fear/​anxiety patients a safe and comfortable experience while helping them take proper care of their teeth and gums.

Services we offer, but are not limited to, include digital x-​rays, oral cancer screening, mercury-​free fillings, cosmetic services including all porcelain crowns and veneers, and Invisalign.

I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of the Pacific and has been practicing quality family, cosmetic, and sedation dentistry since 2005. I truly love my profession and my drive for clinical excellence through continued education has allowed me to diagnose and treat the root causes of oral health issues and create a smile which epitomizes the beauty in each individual.

One of my passions in life is charity. I have been a dental provider every year for the American Dental Association’s Give Kids A Smile program in the Bay Area. I also participate in medical/​dental missions with Alliance for Smiles, a non-​profit organization dedicated to repairing broken smiles of children affected by cleft lip and cleft palate in under-​served areas of the world.

For anyone who has anxiety about dentistry, or even those that just need a gentle hand and a wonderful personality, I highly recommend Dr. Wanlan Xiao. The office is full of friendly and informative people and Dr. Xiao is so down to earth and sweet. She genuinely cares about her patients and goes above and beyond to make you comfortable. She explains everything she is going to do and I’ve never felt uncomfortable. In fact, my husband and my daughter see her too and now even my cousin is going to her. You can watch TV during your procedure and she has the cutest Maltese named vadar and he will sit with you while she works and he definitely makes your anxiety melt away. She even gives holiday gifts! I got a full turkey in a reusable thermal bag for Thanksgiving the other day! That is just so awesome. She is located in Livermore above Uncle U’s. If you go, say I referred you. I know you won’t regret the change.

Dr Xiao has been my dentist and good friend for the past ten years. She is professional, skillful and caring. I love her pristine office and friendly staff. I esp love her dog Vader! He would jump onto my lap and gives me his comfort every time I visit, he is a wonderful assistance in the office. I would recommend Dr Xiao to you without any hesitation.

My entire family uses Dr Xiao, and I had become discontent with my current provider who charges *premium* fees… since his service was not any different than dentists who charge reasonable and customary fees.
I went in for the first time yesterday… and had the most through exam I have ever had. Staff is super friendly and professional.
I realized my previous dentists were not proactive, and was so disappointed in them for not giving a realistic assessment of the health of my teeth. They seem to have taken the *wait for the disaster* approach.
I trust Dr Xiao, and look forward to working with her to improve the health of my teeth. I am so glad I made the switch.

You never truly know how great a professional is until you see how they work in an emergency. Yesterday my 7 year old son broke his front tooth at his after school care. When I called Dr Xiao’s office I was told to bring him in immediately. My son was scared and in pain. Dr Xiao was sensitive and was even able to get him to laugh. She also handled me by letting me know what she is going to do and what to expect. I am so glad I Dr Xiao is our dentist. She handled our emergency as a true professional. Thank you!

I was refer to this office by a good friend of mine. I had a chipped tooth that really bother me. When I arrived to the office I was greeted well. Her dental assistant Dee came out and got me. She made me feel welcome and managed to make me smile even with my chipped tooth ;) Dr. Xiao came introduced her self. Dr. Xiao & Dee got started, I didn’t feel anything nor did I get sprayed or drowned. I felt they have good team chemistry together. After everything was done I had a great looking tooth again. It looks so natural that I was able to smile again. Thank you Dr. Xiao and Dee for caring. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone.

I’m afraid of the dentist. I put off getting treatment because it makes me so anxious even to schedule an appointment. I had a toothache and Dr. Xiao fit me in at the last minute on a Saturday and made me feel welcome and comfortable, along with all of the staff there. I needed root planing and some cavities filled, so we set a course of action and I waited until all my appointments were complete to write this review.
Not only am I afraid of the dentist, I also have vertigo, I won’t use Lidocaine because it makes my heart race, I’m a total wussy when it comes to pain and I won’t shut-​up even with hands in my mouth. Dr. Xiao separated my root planing into four appointments and we took it quadrant by quadrant. She actually had to stand to do all my cleanings, because of my vertigo she couldn’t tilt me back far enough to sit. She used epinephrine free novacaine, even though it lasts a shorter period of time and she needs to administer more shots. And finally, she was patient every time I «needed» to say something while she was working.
Dr. Xiao does the cleanings herself while her very sweet dental assistant reassures you, helps Dr. Xiao in every way possible and makes sure you swallow nothing offensive. Beth handles the front desk, appointments and insurance without ever burdening you with anything and giving you lots of options for appointments and payments.
Dr. Xiao called the next day personally to check in on me after each appointment, her little white Maltese VADER sits on my lap the whole time and falls asleep and gives me such comfort that I never missed an appointment and if you can actually believe this, I looked forward to my final two root planings. No pain, no more fear and I love my smile.

Dr Xiao and her staff are great! So friendly and such a relaxed environment. Dr. Xiao called me after my appointment to check on me… I’ve NEVER had a dentist do that. It was awesome. I even had to bring my 5 month old with me and they were so accommodating. I can’t say enough great things about her office! It’s actually a pleasure to go to the dentist now. Was looking for a new dentist since we moved to Livermore and our friend recommended Dr. Xiao. Her office is so modern and was amazed she does digital xrays, ready in seconds. She has weekend appointments, great for those with busy work schedules.

Dr Xiao has a lovely office, it is well lite and inviting. I felt very comfortable, especially from the big smile and warm greeting from Beth, her Office Manager. Which helps to calm the nerves :). Both Dr. Xiao and her Dental Assistant, Angela are very caring, and gentle, plus they really take their time to explain what they are doing so to help you relax for a positive appointment.
I am a «nervous nellie» (and that is putting it mildly) when it comes to having dental work/​cleanings preformed. So with that said, Dr. Xiao, helped to figure out the best treatment plan for me. That way I would have a stress-​free, more relaxed experience in order to have my dental work done.
My initial appointment today, went really great! I even booked my next 2 follow up appointments. Which, honestly in the past (with previous dentists) I would NEVER do that, i would just keep put it off…
So with that said I am happy & thankful to have found Dr. Xiao and her Team. I high recommend her to anyone who is anxious or has dental phobias, she really knows how to help her patients become more at ease.
