The Cave Downtown

This is an excellent destination to get cigars and maybe even some homemade baked goodies when you visit. The gal at the front and the gentleman who assisted us with the cigar selections were all very friendly and talkative and offered us some homemade goodies that were yummy!
I was visiting the establishment with my husband and brother in law while we waited for a table to open up at our dinner destination.
We each picked up a few cigars (I like Tatianas flavored mini cigars) and we went to the lounge and enjoyed some conversation and a smoke. The smoking lounge was clean and well appointed with a lot of places to sit and enjoy yourself in comfort while you smoke your «stogie.»
We definitely plan to stop by again soon and take a moment to relax.

Welcoming and unpretentious. The staff are willing to give their recommendations upon request. Been here twice and my girlfriend loves it. Very clean and wide selection of cigars.

I was there 15 minutes and decided to become a member. Owners and staff all very nice. They provide great coffee and let me use it as my «office» since I telecommute. Cigar selection is top notch and the staff is well informed. This is now my favorite place in Livermore.

Love this place! Walked in not knowing a whole lot about cigars, and was given amazing help. My love for cigars has only grown, and this is my favorite place to smoke. It’s cozy and warm, and extremely friendly.

Really nice people who run the show, very welcoming to a cigar newbie like me. I’ve only been to a couple of cigar lounges, but the prices here certainly seem very fair. Nice furniture and décor, coffee and snacks free in the den (with purchase of cigar, of course), good ventilation. Very clear the owner put a lot of thought and care into setting the place up. They don’t serve any alcohol, but if you spring for a membership, you can bring your own.
I’ll definitely be back.

Owner is very knowledgeable about his cigars. Nice place to unwind and smoke a cigar in the back room. Cute white dog sat on my lap for an hour while my buddy and I enjoyed our cigar. Nice they have some coffee back in the room for us also.

Very nice selection, good prices, nice addition to downtown Livermore. Didn’t have time to hang out and enjoy a cigar, but seemed like a good spot. I’ll be back

A very nice lounge with a decent selection and the owner, bear, is an easy fellow to talk to.

I have been to cigar lounges in several cities and states and I enjoy most of them. The Cave is my favorite for a few reasons.
1. It is clean and comfortable. They clean the ashtrays often. The floors and seats are clean. The store is clean. If this lasts past the two months that they have been open, then this place will continue to be great.
2. It is comfy. Comfy seats, comfy atmosphere. They make you feel like they want you to hang out there.
3. They are friendly as hell. Great folks working there. They make you feel welcome, invited and they are pushy or snobby about what to smoke or what you are smoking.
4. Nice selection of solid cigars, a few on the harder to get side and reasonable prices. For the reasonable alone, I think they will do well. Don’t start gouging us now!
5. It is a cigar lounge, not a vape hole. No high schoolers getting their fruit flavored vapor goop or hookah or weed paraphernalia.
6. It is in Livermore. No more having to go Pleasanton or beyond for a good stick and a place to smoke it.
Overall, great joint to hang out or just buy a cigar. I will, and have been back, several times. Keep it up, Cave!

The Cave Downtown is more than just a lounge for those who are knowledgeable about cigars; it can also be a classroom for those who aren’t. I say this as someone who knows very little to nothing about cigars.
Whether you’re an experienced cigar smoker or someone new to it all the staff is very good at selecting the perfect cigar, or cigars to match your tastes.
The humidor is fully stocked with everything; from very high end cigars to the cheaper factory rejects. Spread throughout the humidor is staff picks which are definitely worth a look.
Since this is a cigar lounge and not just a shop they have immense comfortable seating both upstairs and downstairs. There are T.V.‘s on both floors, and they have music playing softly; usually oldies. The upstairs you can hang out in if you purchase anything that day, but in order to gain full access to all they have, including the downstairs area, you will need to purchase a membership. Three different memberships are available. The Kodiak Membership gives you full access to everything the other two offers (full access to lounge areas, events, etc.) as well as providing you with a personal locker.
A few other non-​cigar items they sell are: coffee mugs, jewelry, snacks, drinks, plus a range of cigar related items: humidors, lighters, cutters, and much more.
Last but not least the lounge is very clean. Granted the place is still pretty new, with ashtrays spread throughout the whole lounge I doubt you will find even a speck of ash on the floor.

Nice to have a cigar bar. Wish they were open later.

This place is FANTASTIC… but it goes WAY beyond just the normal «wow it’s nice in here» type of review. I had the pleasure of talking at length with the owners who treated my short visit as if I was the president showing up for a stogie. NOT pretentious, just genuinely interested in making some friends to come to their «club». Go on in and ask for a suggestion… then spend an hour in ‘The Den’. I guarantee you’ll love it, and you’ll be back :)

Much nicer than anything in the Bay Area and the staff was really helpful. Cigar selection was great and the prices were right on point.

Awesome new place in Livermore. Great selection of cigars and a very commode table place to smoke. I recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

LOVE this place! The Cave Downtown is just what downtown Livermore needed. It’s an incredibly elegant and beautiful lounge with a massive cigar selection. The owners and staff are super friendly. There’s an upstairs lounge where you can enjoy your cigar with super comfy chairs, large flat screen TV’s and the place is well ventilated so even if you go with people who don’t smoke cigars they won’t be overwhelmed with smoke.
But wait… it gets better. downstairs is a member only lounge that is even more awesome. Poker table, private meeting areas, more TV’s and comfy chairs, a fireplace, and just about everything you need in the perfect man cave.
Looking forward to their upcoming events and bringing clients there for some meetings!

Always enjoyed smoking cigars at lounges, and am extremely excited to have one open in my city of residence.

I know it’s still new, so sometimes the service at establishments can change. But after meeting the owners and other employees I doubt it will.
And yes I totally became a member. Look forward to more visits in the foreseeable future.
